Hope everyone is staying safe and well.
I guess weight doesn't exactly matter at this time but staying as healthy as you can does. For many of us Keto helps us feel good and that can't be a disadvantage at the moment.

I spring here in eastern Washington state. I’m especially looking forward to spring this year as we are beginning to open back up from this pandemic lockdown. Along with a few pounds, I’m hoping to lose many of the restrictions we’ve been saddled with. I can’t wait to start exercising with my friends and family again. I’ll have to wait until the fall to join another bowling league, but my softball team is scheduled to start practicing soon with an opening day of June 9th.
So welcome May! It is time to get back to normal. If I could see your faces, I would hope it would be without a face coverings and big smiles.

@hallene actually I generally don't, but when I do, maybe once a month or so, I use Keto Sticks. After you've been keto a while you are fat adapted so your body is running on ketones so you don't really have to measure as long as you keep your carbs low. Also check out Amy Berger on Tuit Nutrition she has a lot of really good stuff about this (IMO!!)2 -

First time poster in this Group; been lurking for a bit. I've been consistently on Keto for 2 months now with no slip ups (especially tough with the "Stay @ Home boredom"). I lost about 110 pounds before starting Keto (low carb/cal counting), but I really want to get another 30 off. My losses have been super slow even though I'm still "overweight" and I only lost 2.2 lbs in April following the Carb Manager app 20-25% calories deficit and macros. Much better than gaining though! I feel good eating this way and just have to keep reminding myself of that when the cravings are bad. Let's do this!

First time poster in this Group; been lurking for a bit.
Welcome KB2020. We are blessed to have an over 100-pound loser join our group. I for one, am looking forward to your perspective as someone who has successfully navigated yourself from a life-threatening weight to a healthy place. Hello, I have about 80 lbs. to lose. I have been successful on keto but....(insert excuse). i’m hoping to meet some friends to support and encourage each other. I’ve had my my first keto day today in months. Didn’t reach my macro goals but it was more reasonable.

So; I should be pleased and I am, but Thursday I was 157 so I've gone up a little every day since then but when I look back it's still down since last Sunday so that's good. Not as wonderful as Thursday was but I should know by now that every time and I mean, every darn time, I woosh down I bounce back up a bit for a while but still it's annoying!

Happy to say I’m starting May with a loss of 2.4 pounds. Thanks to a suggestion from a friend on this forum, I read “Life in the Fasting Lane”. I’ve been using intermittent fasting (IF) and keto for over 480 days now. Keto has changed me from an unfit/unhealthy/unhappy/un(fill in the blank) individual to a person on the verge of reaching my fitness goals.
I am so thankful for where keto and IF have taken me, but I feel like I’ve been stuck just short of my goals for too long. I’m hoping that extended fasting is going to give me the push I need to reach those goals. I feel so close but what I’ve been doing for over 480 days isn’t quite getting me there. Here’s hoping “Life in the Fast Lane” guides me to navigate those last few steps. Thanks for the advice 166jackie.

Hi Keto Friends!
I'm back and ready to get into this challenge now. Tomorrow is my 3 month post-op mark; I'm now able to do a little more movement. For the last three months I've been under my surgeon's orders to only walk and nothing more. I still can't do the BLT's - bend, lift or twist. Still in a brace and using a cane (YAY, no more 4-wheel walker). I lost a couple pounds during my 16 days in the hospital, even though I was pumped full of IV fluids and I was quite swollen from the surgical trauma. I'm sure the three days of only ice chips had something to do with that loss.
I know my body has been through a lot and I need to be patient and let it do its healing. However, I really want to get back to a regimented way of eating.
I've managed to put on 5 pounds in the last 2-3 weeks with "quarantine eating". Oh the carbs, all these f&!$ing carbs! I even ate Oreos! I don't even like Oreos and hadn't eaten them since high school. I've begun mindlessly eating anything and everything.
Looking forward to some discipline and accountability!!! Happy and thankful to be back in this May challenge with all of you.

While I am happy with any loss. I am so frustrated. I was steadily losing at least 3 lbs a week for over a month. I had a cheat meal on April 2nd. I stayed under my calorie goal for the day, and went right back to my keto macros the next day. I was up 5 pounds, and slowly shed that over the next week. But, then lost NOTHING for 2 weeks. Now the scale is sooooooo slow. I am lucky to see 2 pounds off a week. Anyone else have this issue? Does it just really take this much time to get the fires going again?2 -

I'm having some weird upticks that seem to co-inside with eating chicken thighs so I used my low for the week and may do that in the future since my body has crazy fluxes. I don't know why as they are fresh (very little sodium added) and I air fry them with just a rub of EVOO. And I know they are big calorie bucks, but I'm still staying under the 20-25% deficit requirements meeting my protein and <carb macros.
Congrats @stormywxs288 and thanks for your kind words. I hear you and what a great inspirational post regarding Fasting and Keto. I've been doing IF for maybe 2 years and it has helped me so much! I also noticed the longer fasts really helped when I stalled to move the scale lower. I haven't done anything more than 20 hours this year, but with the scale so frustrating, I will probably do some longer again soon. I'll have to check out the book if I haven't already... I've caught so many that I can't keep up other than the Fung's.
You are doing great @chinatowninchina! I'm with you on the bouncy scale! So annoying especially when we are doing everything right.
@TheMerryMermaid - If I had the "O's" in my house, I would eat the whole bag. I'm not even a big sugar eater when I ate carbs on the regular, but being on keto has me craving so much sugar even two full months in. I'm just glad Easter is gone so those Reese's commercials are over. They kill me. I can easily bypass the orange wrapping, but put them in the yellow and it is like a neon flashing light. Anyway, 5 lbs will easily come off when you get on track. I can gain that in a minute.

Merrymermaid (MM), I for one am so glad you are back with us. I’ve missed your posts and I’m sure I’m not alone on that. MM and KB (KayB2020) I resonate with your Oreo problems. I can’t keep sweets in my home for the same reasons. In fact, I had a car that I swear had a Dairy Queen Blizzard magnet in it. I could not drive past a DQ without pulling in and sneaking a treat. I actually, sold the car and haven’t had a blizzard since.4

A good thing to do is also to measure bits of your body regularly and keep a record, say tops of arms, thighs, bust, waist, tummy and hips. I use cm as they are easier to loose than inches being smaller! you will probably find that although you don't seem to be loosing weight you will be going down a bit in size. Lots of people find this.
I have to say as well that 2 pounds per week is a great weight loss, so don't get discouraged, set small goals. You are very very close to being under 260 that's great. Then set a goal for 255. It's much easier to see and appreciate smaller amounts. Good luck!4 -

I missed this post when I came through earlier. I agree that 2 lbs a week is totally awesome and a very healthy rate of loss. I'm lucky to get that a month being perfect and very little change in measurements. Sometimes you get lucky and hit a sweet spot of continued losses of more but some of us don't lose as much week to week after carb water dissipates or hormones or sodium. Hang in there! You are doing wonderful.1
