Food: good
45mins lifting upper body and 20 min morning run, 6000k steps
Woke up and ran right away, took baby to first month check up, played with older daughter, worked out later and then for the rest of the day just chilled on couch with mostly crying baby - she got a shot and hasn’t been the happiest since
@Cafelelia you’re so right! Lol Gold fish crackers are considered lunch at this point in my life - on rough days.
@sleepymom5 it’s funny that you asked about my birth! Bc my husband missed it. I’ll tease him forever lol
Well it was okay when I went to get induced. Still was able to have my husband there. No visitors though.
Initially my husband went with but we were 4h in and I wasn’t progressing so I sent him home some to give his mom a break and play with our older daughter for couple of hours.!
I was laying hooked up to iv for 8h with no progress, no pain nothing. Bored to death. They broke my water after 8h and within 45 mins I went from 3cm to my baby in my arms.
She was born at 5:15 and my husband showed up at 5:16 lol - shocked to walk in and see the baby haha he got to cut the cord at least lol
I told him “they will be breaking my water so maybe you can come back to hospital soon” but none of us expected my labor to actually last only 45mins. It was intense and insanely fast.
I didn’t even get a chance to get an epidural.
Oh well!5 -
Hi new members and hi to the members that aren’t so new. Last month was my first month and I pretty much maintained. @sleepymom I’m so glad your husband is doing better and I’m glad my good mfp friend Theresa is as well. It’s been a tough month but I’m making some changes now. My new habits are:
Eat mindfully (at table and not while multitasking), eat proper portions, stop eating when 70-80% full, avoid eating family style, avoid eating seconds.
I made an accountability calendar and I highlight when I cross off a good habit every day so that hopefully by the end of May I will see a whole lot of sunny yellow. I’m thinking if the behavior changes the weight should too.
I was a skinny kid and adult my whole life (113-120 lbs) until I turned 37 when I got pregnant and had my third child who was a rainbow baby. When I gave birth I was 172 lbs. I lost most of the weight and got down to 128 which was a good doable weight for me at 40 years old. However about 10-15 lbs crept back up the last semester of my doctoral work (I am a professor as you prob can tell by my screen name). I finally completed my doctorate and now I’m ready to get back down to 128. I want it to stay this time and I’m ok with slow and steady. My biggest problem is emotional eating so I constantly journal / post about the stressors that cause me to overeat because it helps to recognize those triggers and come up with a way to deal with things better. I’m going to try to come on this community more often but i am pretty busy because not only do I teach but I also run a small ad agency. Plus like many of you my kids are home doing distance education. My husband just went back to work, but he was working from home the last 7 weeks.
Tomorrow is my weigh in day so I’ll be here then. I’m excited for us all to make good changes to a healthier fitter self.

Check in for Tuesday 5th.
Didn't feel great yesterday so took the day off work and slept a bit, felt like a migraine but I got rid of the worst of it. I tried a Yoga routine for migraine relief in the evening - I couldn't have done it with a full blown migraine but it helped a bit with the symptoms I had at that point.
Today was much better. Just did 25 mins of cardio after work and then treated myself to a "non-beginner" yoga session which I haven't done in years. Felt pretty good, I'm not going to advanced any time soon but I'm confident I can handle a decent yoga session again now!
Food on track today, so is water.5 -

Woo hoo! Down 3lbs this week. I worked on behavior changes and did amazing with them 5.5/7 days this past week. This is exciting and good motivation to keep going.
I’m hoping to get in a short run soon and then a busy day of work. But first I prep my snacks. Would love some ideas for healthy snacks. Sometimes o prep something that is good for you but then I have no desire to eat it. I may have 1 healthy and 1 unhealthy snack a day so I’m not bored to death. I know once I get used to eating healthier I crave it so I know it takes time. Sort of like when I stop eating when 70-80% full it’s hard but after a while you get used to it. Building good habits takes time and I’m going to just go day by day.
Have a great Tuesday y’all!

Monday check in
Food - On plan
Water - 1.5l
Exercise - 45 min walk & 11,731 steps
Yesterday was really good for food and exercise. I will get to 2l with the water, but have to take my time. I am still tired in the evenings and hope that will subside over time. I received a grocery delivery and it took me about 2 hours to wipe everything down, wash produce and put it away. Like many people, in April we overstocked on a lot of freezer and pantry items, so we are now meal planning around what we have.
@ProfDawnLee - Fantastic loss, congratulations! Healthy snacks? It depends upon what you like and how much time you have. Chopped veggies like celery or carrots (you can prep in advance and put in jars of water) with a healthy dip like guacamole or yogurt, popcorn with bbq spice on it, “nice cream” which is frozen bananas blended with any kind of flavouring like berries, cocoa, vanilla etc, yogurt pops, which is greek yogurt and milk blended with berries or other anything else to flavour, and frozen in popsicle molds. Just a few ideas.
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx - You cat looks so cozy! I am glad that your migraine is gone and that the yoga helped a bit.
@JillyBT - Nice loss and fantastic steps! That beach looks so lovely and tempting. Hope that it opens soon.
@hope002 - Great day and steps!
@lenka1 - I am amazed with what you can get done with two little ones. I hope that the baby feels better today. That birth story is something else. You never know what will happen in labour, that’s for sure. At least your husband got to cut the cord!
@bburrer30 - It looks so lovely where you hike! Water was always a tough one for me. I was up to 2l a day for a few months before I got sick in April. What helped me was to fill two 1 litre bottles of water the night before, adding a bit of juice (just enough to flavour the water). I would drink 1 l in the morning and then the other in the afternoon and evening. The bathroom breaks were rough going in the beginning, until my body adjusted. I am now at 1.5 l and working my way up to 2l again by next week hopefully.
@tryingagain5 - That is great news about your bloodwork! Your neighbour sounds like a gem. If he won’t accept payment, you can always get him and his family a little present at some point, or pay it forward to somebody else who needs help.
@GingerPwr- Oh Leia is my one and only princess!! I miss Carrie too. I love your photos! Your progress is amazing!!
@lennoncpa - Such a cool photo!
@jedaschultz - Now is the perfect time to get back on the wagon. You can do it!
@podperson01 - Fantastic loss!
@sleepymom5 - So happy to see you having a good day (and a few good days at that)!
@ljdanny - At least you maintained! A lot of us are hoping that the second half of lock down goes better. We can do it!

loving everyone's pictures! Thanks for posting. @GingerPwr I was so happy to see that you have volunteered to be team motivator. Awesome! Great photos!
This weekend was challenging trying to get my energy back. I took a nap Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But I am slowly feeling more rested. I had to skip my 2 walks the last 2 days. Molly would not let me walk on Sunday since I could hardly get out of bed. But I did manage to make lemon bars for Sunday dinner and Strawberry cheesecakes for coworkers birthday and beet sopas. I will post my pictures.
I have still been doing well with IF. Sunday morning I made myself a really nice bowl of vegan yogurt, fresh strawberries, blueberries and 1/2 a banana sprinkled with flax seed. After about 1/3 I was full. But that couldn't be right could it? I ate it all anyway but thought a lot about that. At dinner I ate seconds. Again too full. So this week I am determined to take those lessons with me and really watch my hunger instead of what I served. Years ago I had tremendous success with overcoming overeating. You could eat anything you wanted with a few guidelines. 1-you had to be hungry, 2-It had to be something that you really wanted to eat and 3-you had to stop as soon as you were full. I remember saving 2 bites of something and waiting until I was hungry again so I could go eat them. I lost a lot of weight with this method. So I am thinking my success will be IF, watching my portions and eating only till I am satisfied.
I did my lemonade cleanse yesterday and red juices today. My weigh in is tomorrow. I hit my number this morning but need to make sure I am there tomorrow as well.
@gingerpwr Casey you have really inspired and motivated me. I know you are doing Noom. What do you think has attributed to your recent success?

My intro:
I began my MFP journey July 2018. Exactly one year later I hit my goal of 142 and lost 60 pounds. I went from a size 3X to a 6-8 size small. Health has always been my biggest motivator. But what really motivated me was needing to stop the escalation. I knew for certain I would climb from 202.8 to 300's if I didn't stop.
2019 was one of the best years of my life. I ran my first 10K, did a 34 mile bike ride for my October birthday and did yoga just about every day. My aches and pains disappeared. In October of 2018 I went vegan and gave up caffeine. I am a bit of a diet guinea pig. I have tried it all. Some plans better than others.
I have recently been doing IF and feel pretty good about it being a great maintenance tool. Maintenance is hard but not as hard as "dieting". I have struggled with health issues in 2020 and found my self back up in weight. I was 149 this morning and plan to get back to 142 by July 1st at 1 pound a week.
This team has truly been my life line and kept me going.
I have an extremely supportive wife. we have been together almost 8 years. The OF (old folks-my parents) live with us. Our granddaughter spends a lot of time at our home as well.
After having the flu, pneumonia and a pace make this year, I am trying to find my way back to a healthy body. I take it slow as I have now added back walking and yoga. I miss my running but it will come.
A big part of my success was putting me first. My criteria was to always make sure I had healthy food, good sleep and a doable exercise plan I followed faithfully. It wasn't always easy but it definitely took me to success. A quote that I saw and live by was the definition of persistent vs tenacious. Persistent people keep on trying and trying. Tenacious individuals adjust and keep doing what they need to do to reach their goal.
Good luck everyone!3 -
@Mrsbell8well your shoes are adorable! And that food looks amazing ♡ I would want to eat all of it . I have such a hard time with Portion Control. Especially, if it's something I really like. I work midnights so that doesn't help with constantly trying to eat so I stay awake.1
-
@Cafelelia I am going to have to try that. I have tried in the past that I have to drink a whole bottle of water before every meal but maybe seeing how much I have will help reach my goal better . I have also seen those bottles that have the Marks of time on them like as mini goals. I dread grocery shopping. I haven't gone Since the 1st week this all started. I have to Tomorrow I have a feeling it's gonna be an all day process. I have to take my gramma to her oncologist, so I figured after I might as well go shopping since I'll be in town already.2

Monday check in
Food - On plan
Water - 64oz plus
Exercise - 45 min walk, 25 min walk, PT and stretching
Another good day yesterday, today too since it is almost 5pm lol! I had to switch my day around today. After I got Jim settled, I went food shopping. It was a good time to go. I am going to try to go each week at this time. It was starting to get busy when I left. Shopping is just so time consuming now, between the shopping, the longer time in lines, wiping everything down and putting it away. I am going to go down to workout now and then dinner so I have to get going. Hope everyone had a great day!
@jedaschultz I love your goals for May! Don't be too hard on yourself. These are strange times. I am glad that you made a decision to move forward and get back on track! I am with you!
@lennoncpa Thanks for sharing. That is beautiful! That must have been a beautiful trip!
@GingerPwr Ugh! I am a day behind! I missed the 4th! Lol! I love the idea of finding our inner Leia. She was not your cookie cutter princess!
@tryingagain5 You really do have nice neighbors! I am glad he was able to fix whatever plumbing issues you had. Maybe keep an ear out and if you hear there is anything they need or want in the future you can surprise them with it. I am glad to hear that your labwork is getting better. Hope you got a better sleep today.
@bburrer30 That looks like a fun hike! I bet the kiddos liked getting out to ride their bikes and I know your pup loved it too! I actually drink 8 oz of water when I get up, another 8 between my 2 cups of coffee and water with my meals. Then I leave a glass out and just take sips throughout the day. Sips add up.
@lenka1 Wow! You did progress quickly! I am sure your husband couldn't believe he missed it! Lol! I am glad everything went well and you have another healthy, beautiful daughter. You really are off to a great start getting back in shape. I am sure your runs are also good for your soul. Sometimes you need a little time to yourself.
@ProfDawnLee I love the idea of the accountability calendar, what a great idea! Nice loss this week, looks like you are off to a great start in May! For healthy snacks-I like Dannon light and fit Greek yogurt. They are 80 calories and have 12 grams of protein. Nuts (be careful, I get the individual packs). Of course veggies and fruit.
@hope002 Great day! You really are doing so well. I am just curious when your 4 hours are and do you eat one meal or two? Or a meal and a snack? I did 16 hours last night which is great for me lol! I am trying to get on track with 14 hours.
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx What a good Tuesday. I am glad that you were able to get rid of the worst of the migraine and then do some Yoga yesterday. I am never sure if I have my days right with you Lol! I know you know what I mean though. xoxo! Your cat sure has the life!!
@JillyBT Nice loss!! Also amazing steps! Love the beach picture. I am sure that parking lot and beach are usually packed.
@Cafelelia I am glad that you are at a point that you can have a somewhat normal day and just have to rest more than usual. I am happy you are listening to your body (or husband ) and resting. You will get back to your usual, slow and steady. xo
@Mrsbell8well Everything looks delicious as usual! Shoes are super cute too! Hope you get your energy back soon, I am glad that you are listening to your body and resting. xo.5 -

@sleepymom5 Just assume I'm way ahead of the rest of the world. It's 10.25am Wednesday here. 🙃
@lenka1 Your labour was so fast, did you go into shock? My labour with my 15 y.o was 3 hours from first niggle to baby, we made it to hospital and he was born 20 mins later in a bathroom(!) and I definitely went into shock with how quick it was! My twins were also a 3 hour labour after being induced and nothing happening for hours, but that was somehow easier. I can't imagine 45 mins!
@Mrsbell8well love your shoes!
And now back to work... I will comment more later!2 -
Tuesday 5/5
Food: good
Water: 32 oz
Exercise: 15 minutes low intensity, 30 minute walk
One of my friends in the condo complex told me she was making a chicken casserole and wanted to know if I wanted some. I expected a serving out of what she made. She came over with an 8x8 dish just for me. I had some for supper tonight and have at least 3 servings left. It was a nice surprise!
I"ll catch up on the posts later.3 -
Tuesday 5th
Food: had a good day I wanted something sweet tonight so I had some jello . I still want to eat but I know I dont need to, so I am staying out of the kitchen.
Water: 36oz. Yahoo, that was hard for me to get too .
Workout: I did a small 10 min morning yoga and then we went on a 2.6 mile hike
@sleepymom5 the kids love riding their bikes. They wanted to do a 5 mile bike/ hike but I decided to go to a nature preservation and we did a 2.6 mile hike. That was a blast. Today with my water I just tried to always keep a water bottle with me . That seemed to help .

@Mrsbell8well thanks for sharing your story, it is inspiring.
Haven’t been good at tracking my food or water but I’ve been motivated to walk everyday and I’m getting my steps in. I’m trying to work on my sleep. I wake up every two hours. Right before this stay at home started I finally had gotten into a good sleep routine. And I truly believe the lack of sleep is hurting my weight. I had a tele doctor appt today and I’m trying to get back into some sort of routine sleeping, exercising and eating. It was motivating.3 -

Hairy moment midway through when a Chinese takeaway caused me to gain over 5 lbs - but that went in 2 days, and then I lost a little more :-) Been skirting around the 190lb mark for a while now, but I think this is the first official Wednesday weigh in when I have been under it.7 -

Check in for yesterday:
Had to postpone my lower body Workout bc I got bad sleep and was extremely tired plus my calves still hurt from Saturday.
Got some stretching and abs workout instead at night after kids fell asleep and was able to hit 6k steps again.
Food: good, avoided junk temptation:)
It’s just hard to process the fact I’m “fat”
Again. I worked hard last year to lose pounds and was so happy with myself - now I’m back where I was.
I know it takes time and consistently good food choices and being active to get back to it and I know I’ll get there again - so I def need to work on being patient.
@Mrsbell8well Nice loss! And your food from yesterday looks delicious, just like i remember from last year oh and cute shoes!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx yes I was def in shock! as my first labor lasted around 14hours lol and I had an epidural so it was very relaxing
This time not so much lol I literally was laying there thinking well there’s something wrong with me and I’ll die but I was praying in mind that baby will be okay Bc I ain’t gonna make it for sure. I guess that’s how natural birth is supposed to feel lol
But I have to say my recovery was really good. I felt so much better mentally and physically this time around so that’s good Just lacking the sleep

This week I am determined to practice intuitive/mindful eating along with my IF. I have all kinds of food goodies packed for my eating options today. I started my morning with a very small cup of acai juice. For breakfast I thought about my options and what sounded best. I chose a rice cake with sunflower butter and chai rooibos tea. Normally I would have 2 rice cakes. I am really eager to pay attention to my fullness level. So 3/4 done with rice cake I stopped. I thought about it but definitely thought I could be done. I set it aside for a few minutes. Mistake number 1...it was still in my line of vision. I ate it. Sooooo going forward if I think I am done I will wrap it up and put it away. Wait and go eat it if I still want it. If not leave it until I am hungry again. This can be a big game changer for me. portions have always been an issue. If I serve it I eat it. Has never had anything to do with hunger.
But I am a new me and ready for success!1
