Wow, how are we into the July thread already - this year has just sped by! Woohoo for our wins and congrats to the individual winners - that's an amazing amount of weight loss when you see it all added up
So, intro! I'm Shelli, 38 and live in Edinburgh, Scotland with my best friend/flatmate and my two kitties. I'm currently still in lockdown so working from home, we're slowly opening things back though so I'm guessing in another few weeks I may be back in the office (they asked me a few weeks ago but I felt it was rather soon!).
Like many of us I've struggled with my weight for many years, with it gradually creeping up to it's highest point of about 210lbs last year. I joined this site at the start of Feb this year and this group I think in March, and I'm now down to 179. This is the longest period I have ever stuck to a weight loss process and I think it's very much in part due to the awesome support from this group. (big thanks in particular to @Cafelelia @1theresamcvean @sleepymom5 and @GingerPwr for their fantastic leadership/motivation work!)
I was pretty strict yesterday to make up for the annoying binge day on Friday and scales are back down a little but not to where they were before. I really need to work on not having a 'bad day' each week lol. Been a pretty quiet weekend, going to video chat with the folks later and trying to work up some motivation to go cook something 'proper' Hope everyone else is doing well x
@CassieGetsFit2013 - Cassie, I just wanted to say that please don't feel bad about talking about your mental health issues here, even if that includes suicide/self harm. I know this is a weight loss rather than a therapy group but I feel it also serves as a great support for all of us with our daily lives and personal issues, not just the numbers on the scales. I'm really glad you have professional help in the form of your therapist/doctor etc but I think it's so important in that situation to have as many support systems around you as possible, so if this group can act as another one then great! I hope you're feeling a little brighter x7 -
I have spammed the community enough this morning with all of the F2F announcements. But I had to post about what an amazing June we had and what an awesome team this is!
For June week 4, our team had a total sweep of the Winners’ Circle. We came in 1st for team % and lbs lost, and @ademann1, @cassiegetsfit2013, and @timibotkin topped the overall team and F2F individual winners!!
A complete team Weight No More sweep!
For the month of June, we came in 1st for team lbs lost and 2nd for team % lost! @kirsten11872 came in second overall for % and lbs lost, and @1theresamcvean made the month’s honorable mentions! Our team overall winners were @kirsten11872, @1theresamcvean and @cassiegetsfit2013!
Also, @podperson1, @freeglerock, @1theresamcvean, @kirsten11872 and @hope002 stayed completely in the green in June (lose or maintain)!
@brown6267 has stayed in the “goal zone” for 2 months straight!
Last but not least, @sleepymom5 made it to onederland!
I also wanted to thank @1theresamcvean for stepping up to co-captain. You are already doing an amazing job!
Best wishes to @sleepymom5 in her “retirement” from the captain’s chair!
You were a fantastic co-captain and we are so happy that you are staying with the team!
Thanks to each and every one of you for making Weight No More such an awesome team!
We are all winners for taking this healthy journey together!4 -
What a Week 4!
Did Team Weight No More ever have a great final week in June!
As a team we came in first place for both categories, percentage lost and pounds lost, and by a landslide. Our team lost 28.7 of the total F2F loss of 33 pounds last week. Holy moly!
Not only did @Ademann1 take first place in percentage lost and @timibotkin take first place in pounds lost, but team TWNM members took the top three places in both categories with @CassieGetsFit2013 joining the other two to accomplish this feat.
June Winners
I was still shaking my head when I moved on to read about the winners for the month of June and actually spilled my coffee when I read that Team Weight No More came in first in pounds lost at 62.3 pounds down!
Congratulations @kirsten11872 on taking the number two spot in both categories (% and lbs), not just in our team, but within F2F overall! And of course for leading Team WNM in first place.
Congratulations @CassieGetsFit2013 for taking third place in Team WNM for the month of June. That must feel good after your roller coaster ride.
Heck, I was even number two on our team, which goes to show that slow and steady is a good thing.

I guess that was a bit repetitive but I'm so happy for you all!2 -

😲😳 Do you guys see that too or am I hallucinating?! Lol. There's a ONE in the front now! I'm nervous that it's only 1lb away from being a 2 again, so I have to work hard for another lost next week to get further away from that 2!
Thank you to all who said really sweet things to me about my mental state and saying I didn't have to apologize. You all are so caring, that's why I love everyone here and have stayed for as long as I have! Actually, that reminds me...Is there somewhere I can check to see how long I've been a member of our wonderful family here?

Hi everyone. I'm Lisa, 40yo and live in the UK. I have been with my partner for over 20 years and we have 2 kids (son 8 and daughter 4). Also have a cat (Curzon), fish and 4 chickens (and an endless supply of fresh eggs!). Other than occupying myself with kids, work and chores I have 2 main hobbies at present which are sewing and allotment gardening (I have 2 allotments that I use to grow fruit and veg with varying success!). The allotments are incredibly time consuming at the moment, but love that for pretty much every day of the year we can eat something we have grown ourselves.
I have always been on the "larger" side, and my weight has yo-yo'd as I have tried one diet after another. Turning 40 last November, I made the decision to return to start my weight loss on the 6th Nov. Weighing in at 218.5lb (height 5'6") at that point, there was a long way to go to my 154lb goal (top end normal BMI). Using MFP, and increasing my exercise, I have lost over 35lb. This is close to my lowest ever adult weight (about 180lb in April 2011 before falling pregnant with my son). I haven't consistently lost weight during this time - there have been a few bumps in the road, but so far I have managed to get back on the wagon and continue.
My goals for July are:
- get below 180lb and stay there!
- drink water more consistently
- start adding core workouts to my schedule (30min at least once a week)5 -
Saturday check in
Food - under calories
Water - 2l
Exercise - 20 min running, 20 min indoor cycle
While my husband and older son are working on renos of our family cottage, I took my young son and I travelled to my mother’s house yesterday, about 90 minutes outside of the city. I had to deal with her aging exercise equipment for my workouts, but it worked. I am still in shock that school is over for now and we are almost into the month of July.
And, the Team Weight No More sweeping June gets even better. We were 66.7% green in Week 4 and a whopping 81.5% green for the entire month. The green means members who lost or maintained. Congratulations!
@freeglerock - I had forgotten that you lost over 35 lbs, wtg! I also did not realize that you kept chickens! We used to have them when I was a kid and the fresh eggs are the best! Nice July goals!
@cassiegetsfit2013 - Congratulations on making it to Onederland! That is amazing! A few other team members already said it, but I wanted to reiterate that we are here for support. You and I have posted about this on past team threads, but I just wanted to repeat that if you really feel that you are in crisis, you know that you must seek help immediately via 911, a crisis line, your family or your doctor. You are always worth it. I know that you don’t like to bother your family, but they love you and will support you in those difficult times as well. As we are all over the world on this team, it is hard for us to know about resources in your area. It sounds like you have a good doctor and support, but there are many worthwhile crisis and text lines out there depending upon where you live. A few months ago, I posted some U.S. crisis lines for you and you want me to dig those up, just let me know and I will message you. I looked it up on our F2F community members section, and it says that you have been a member since July 2017. Does that sound right?
@1theresamcvean - It is so hot out there today!
@podperson1 - You have lost over 30 lbs, and that is incredible! Thank you for being such a wonderful team member.
@zumba_luvah - I did not know about your scoliosis and the full history with your weight. It is amazing that you have not given up and have found something that works for you with weight loss. This is not a criticism at all as we are all made differently but I have a question about the 850 to 1000 calories. How tall are you? Do you use supplements? Have you done the test for celiac?
@JillyBT - That is a very creative use of the water gun! Great photo. I really like your July goals and it is good to change this up. I was off logging calories for 3 months, but have come back to it as I think it works for me.
@mrsbell8well - We are all waiting to see a photo of that sourdough bread!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx - So smart to be tracking your measurements as another metric. I really have to start again. I hoe that your nerve pain has subsided.
@bburrer30 - Congratulations on graduating and your new job! I feel the same way about being a positive role model for my kids. Great July goals and you did great with your walking, not to mention your overall weight loss. Don’t give up this time!
@KristieJC - Welcome once again! I hear you about the challenges of working at a computer.5 -

Week 1
Weigh In Day: Sunday June 28
Previous Weight: 131.7
Today’s Weight: 131.5
Hi! I’ll come back and do my intro tomorrow! ❤️5 -
I managed to drink water before each meal today but only got 48 oz in. I spent my afternoon sleeping so I can stay awake for work tonight. I'm sure if I had been awake I would have drank more water.
My Sundays seem to go pretty quickly because of the sleeping.😴3 -
Today was busy and active.
I went to boot camp in the park today. We each did our workout in a distancing circle. It was great seeing everyone in real life.
I rode my bike there and back and stopped in to see my daughter on the way back.
I’m falling asleep typing so will catch up with you all tomorrow.4 -
Today was shelter day for my daughter and me. That gets me a good amount of steps cause we just walk dogs, although a happy consequence of all this corona craziness is adoptions have been way up. For the past couple of months we’ve had about 25% as many dogs as usual. That means my steps are way down. We also went to an outlet mall, which boosted my steps. This will be one of my rare days that I get over 10,000 cause I work all day at a computer and my usual exercise is cycling. Looking forward to weigh-in tomorrow but also dreading it. Just hoping I didn’t gain.
Calories: under goal
Water: 80 ounces
Activity: about 45 minutes or so of working outside (logged as only 30 minutes of gardening cause it wasn’t as vigorous)

@cassiegetsfit2013 - Congratulations on making it to Onederland! That is amazing! A few other team members already said it, but I wanted to reiterate that we are here for support. It feels good to be in onederland! Hope I can stay here and keep going further away from that pesky 2! 😋 I'm glad you guys here are so supportive, but I did read your message and I didn't want to continue coming back and saying anything about it because I don't want anyone here to get mad at me, or to feel uncomfortable or for a non-team member to come here and report me, like you said could happen. 😕 I do appreciate and love you guys here though! My weight loss family! 🖤 I do have that crisis text line and I've used them quite a bit before. They don't always end up being able to help me or calm me down, but they have at times so I will try to reach out to them when and if I need them. I do have really good Dr's. And professionals that help me and they are always trying to get things right and switch things up so that I get the best help and the best care. I'm going to miss my Psychiatrist that I've had for close to 2 years, but I've had others that I had to leave too and I'm sure I am going to really like having this new one because I've already met her a few times and talked to her once and I just know she is a sweet, nurturing person. 🥰 Ohhh, so next month will be my 3rd yesr here! 🥰😁🖤

@Cafelelia
How tall are you? Do you use supplements? Have you done the test for celiac?
I'm 5'2.5. No I don't take any supplements. And yes I've been tested for celiac but it was negative.1 -

Haven't been eating great the past few days. Part of that is TOM. I've joined the measurement challenge for this week and will measure and log all my food this week.
Let's start this week right!4 -
Good luck for July
