Slow and steady wins the race right? My win though, was that I made it through the 4th of July weekend without cheating! I stuck to keto, but didn’t track calories! Mainly because I knew I was going to be drinking. And, if any of you in here drink some you know keto and alcohol can be a whole different ballgame. It hits fast!!!! So I knew I needed to eat, and if trying to restrict calories, it would have been messy lol. I thought for sure, between the weekend and my period, I’d either not lose or be up a bit this week!! Yay!3 -

Another week gone, though it felt like one long day, broken with naps. Been finding it difficult to stay asleep this month but hubby is going back to work this week, which is such a relief.
Went wild swimming with son and friends in Loch Lomond this week. Managed to get into my wetsuit without a major struggle for the first time in 2 years, so a nice boost for staying on the keto path.

We were on vacation for the last couple of weeks so I did not have access to a scale...or internet on most days. As far as vacation goes, I am (mostly) happy with my eating and staying active (I'm typically more active on vacation because I'm not sitting behind a desk or in my car driving kids around town.)
For 7/05, I used 6/28's scale number since I did not weigh in.
Looking at the spreadsheet and my weight numbers, I can get discouraged easily because the last several years I'm the heaviest I've ever been (even more than during my 4 pregnancies) I did so well in 2018 to lose weight and then let life and difficulties with our oldest teenager drive me to eat - and eat and eat (with no exercise). At the time, I thought eating made me feel better. I'm paying for it now.
My goal weight is 125 (with muscle gain, if no muscle gain, then less than that) I revisited the spreadsheet numbers I had in 2018 where I got within 5 lbs of my goal and then let things go. Rather than get mad at myself as I usually do, I'm choosing to see that progress in 2018 as a reminder that I can do it again! This is a great community here in this group and I attribute much of my success then to the support I received at the time....and I'm happy the support is still here!! You guys are the best

Another of those bouncy up and down weeks but at least I finished lower than last week. Hope all goes well for everyone this week2 -
So I've been meaning to get back to keto for weeks. I lived the keto lifestyle for 2 years before giving it all up last Christmas and using covid19 as an excuse to not go back. I decided enough is enough and started back in the right track 1/2 way through July.
Original Starting weight: Apr. 9. 2018: 210.4
Lowest weight on Keto: Nov. 12. 2018: 183.8
Goal Weight: 160
New Highest weight: June. 7. 2020: 212
7/12: 211.2 = -0.8
7/19: 207.0 = -4.2 lbs

Came back from vacation yesterday. I ate way too much and shows on the scales. Gained 5.1 lbs.
But I got up this morning, got on tread mill, meal prepped, and cleaned the house. Happy to accomplish all this today to set up for a successful week!

Few struggles this week. I am not sure if I somehow kicked myself out of ketosis or what, but that scale was alllllll over the place this week. I tried the birchbenders keto pancake mix as dumplings for chicken and dumplings. Now on paper I was within my macros....buuuut I have questions lol. After eating my keto urine strips were between nothing, and trace. They have been steadily between small/moderate for months. That was the only change to diet. I have however been working from home this past week due to possible exposure, so the decrease in activity could be a factor as well.
On a positive note, 240.8 marks my -50 pound mark. You guys, I cried. I haven't been this successful in over ten years. Thank you all for helping me to remain motivated and accoutable.3 -

Had to weigh-in Friday as I will be away from my scale this weekend. My kids gave us a little trip to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Right now, we’re in a little town in Montana, USA, called Paradise. There are natural hot springs, rustic cabins and too much good food here to enjoy. Needless to say, my keto discipline will go down the hot springs drain this weekend.
Anyway, closed out July leaving me where I was at the end of June. So here we go into August already. The way I look at it, we’ve got 3 good months to go until the eating season begins. It is time to put some pounds in the bank to compensate for my weakness, the Holidays. Hope to see you all in the August Challenge.

Hello! Been away for a couple of weeks camping n' swimming. Keto up in smoke due to waay too much wine, bread and smores! Weighed myself last week and had put on 3lbs.
To be honest... I couldn't wait to get back onto keto - bread causes so much tiredness if not mainlining coffee. Loving my chicken and celery salads.
