Some of our member's posts are so outstanding that I save them.
Here is one of the most important posts ever written by one of our current team members, @victorious55
"These are some of the truth I tell myself every week and sometimes every day, especially on weekends or parties.
1. It is about my health. This is one thing in this life that nobody can do for me .
2. Nobody can exercise on my behalf.
3. Nobody can keep track of what I eat, bite, lick, drink, etc., on my behalf
4. Nobody can stay within my calorie/micro budget on my behalf
5. Food is my body fuel. Food is made for my body not my body for food. Gasoline is made for cars not cars for gasoline.
6. My body is too precious and too expensive to put any type of fuel. Just like you will put the premium fuel in BMW, Mercedes, etc.
7. Nobody over fuel their expensive cars. Therefore, no overeating and getting sick, guilty etc., the next day for me. (truth I always tell myself on weekends)
8. My goal in life is not to make pharmaceutical companies/ or big food merchants rich at my expense."
Thank you, @victorious55

Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes

I agree about food being a fuel and making it the highest quality fuel we can. I tell myself something similar about exercise - we would never leave our expensive car in the driveway for years on end and expect it to run well when we decided to use it. So take your body for a drive every day - even a short one, to shake the cobwebs off and keep all the moving parts in good shape!

Yes x3
Exercise was a swim in the sea and lots of gardening.
In really pleased with myself. I had a meal out and didn't have control of the location so it was somewhere I wouldn't normally go and all the options are higher calorie. I planned in advance though and didn't go over.8 -
Hey there you guys!
Yes, tracked my food - and love that I'm not ravenous like I was for a couple of days.
Yes, exercised by walking two pet sitting client doggos, have 3 more this eve to walk and will be doing zumba.
Yes I am currently under my goal for myself, and as one of our group members says...and I have adopted the saying..."The kitchen is now closed." ;D
Zig zagging intake to try to get this metabolism to wake up. (any of you who have encountered the "around 50" slowdown...is weight lifting the biggest help? I really do not want to eat at TDEE for a week. Do you have a fave link for me? I'm all ears. ;D
Well, I've logged for 200 days...and lost 17 lbs total. Not where I want that number to be...but I'm not discouraged...just trying to determine what to change. I'm using lots of different TDEE calculators...but I think that due to metabolism...I've got to ratchet that number down a bit. I've exercised more in those 200 days that in the past 5 yrs frankly. Now - I'm back to taking care of myself after a divorce that I mourned for 3 yrs of separation and 2 yrs after...(I'm a slow mover...in so many ways! Just ask my kids about when I run...lol.) and allowing fear of a hernia issue holding me back (had that surgery). Fear of pain due to a stumble I took...well - deal with the pain - and get stronger through it is the way I usually face things...so applying that here. My journey to my ultimate weight loss goal is going to be a long one. I'm ok with that. As the post by RangerRick highlighted in numero uno - it's about health. So hey folks - have a great Tuesday wherever you are!
P.S. - A little kindness story for you today: At midnight my AC evaporator coils were frozen. Had to turn the ac off...and around here...it's the hottest part of the year...woke up to 83 degrees in the house, and my teen slept on the tile floor in the kitchen because it was the coolest area...and the big fan was there keeping the refrigerator from working too hard. Sotarted the day looking like I was going to have to buy a new AC...turned out they could still keep it running for me...and the young man who came out is a son's friend...so he gave me a $200 discount. Woohoo! So many good people in the world.

Yes, if you would let us know which of the 3 questions is rating a no, and maybe some idea of the roadblock, maybe we can help you find a way around it.
No matter what, just keep showing up and reporting in, as you think of Aug as your "trial and error find your best-for-YOU ways of doing things".4 -
Yes x 3.
Made it through the storm. No damage at all, but between last night’s broken sleep and the 13k steps today, I am beat. Early to bed for me tonight...8 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, again in the garden. Cleaning up years of not enough weeding & maintenance. Hopefully I will have it cleaned up so that next year is easier but it is a great workout for now!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes. I am back on track
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
I forgot for the past few months that food was fuel. I put some things that don’t make me run optimally. I have saved that info so that I can remember it when I forget why all of this matters

Your comments are so true we are the ones accountable to what we do, how we do it and the outcome of taking care of ourselves. I can wish, hope and want for you but only you can accomplish the feat. I am accomplishing my feat and darn proud of it!!
Due to tropical storm Isaias no outdoor walking today except to lower the level of the pool! Did spend time playing guitar and some housecleaning so that counts. Stayed under logged and was successful with my second day of fasting, I only eat between 10:30am and 6:30pm it’s worked🙂7 -
