If it helps I was once told 'if you wouldn't take advice from someone why would you listen to their criticism?' - came in handy on more than one occassion.
I love that! Thanks for the advice!1 -

Back to exactly where I was 2 weeks ago. September has not gone well so far so I’m thankful to be kind of holding steady.
Not being able to use the forums on the app has basically made me stop using the forums but today it is working so fingers crossed I can go back to keeping up with what everyone is doing - it helps me stay focused to read other people’s celebrations and struggles.
@hipari even if you haven’t been logging you haven’t quit and you’re still showing up here. That is huge. I know it’s so easy to just give up altogether and stop showing up when things aren’t going how you feel they should.
I was just giving myself a talk about this during the week. I was thinking of quitting the group because of the app not working and the fact I’m too stressed/exhausted during the working day to come here on my computer (and after work I do not want to be on the computer). But I stopped and asked myself “if you were still losing weight like the last few months would you be thinking of quitting”. I realized the app was an excuse. I felt like quitting mainly to get out of admitting I’m not exactly killing it this month.
So I’m staying.
And admiring all those of you who stay connected when it’s not going the way you want it to.3 -

The good news is that the uptick last week WAS just water weight! Now I just have to stay on track. 😊3 -
I am sorry but I need to restart, I have been doing poorly and I am regrouping my thoughts and putting a plan together for a fresh start. Please carry my weight over. I don't want to face the scale and feel disappointed. I will never give up, just need to readjust my attitude and keep trying, few weeks ago everything clicked in place but stress increased and it gets me every time.3

This needs to be the law. We need a list of offences that allow you to give someone a bop on the nose;
1. Bragging about losing weight whilst putting in zero effort
2. Lining up several people abreast across a foot path and not giving any room when somebody comes along
3. Reaching over someone for something when shopping as if social distancing didn't exist
4. Parking your vehicle on a pavement so wheelchairs and pushchairs have to go in the road
5. Stopping to look at your phone/smoke a cigarette/say goodbye to a friend/whatever non-emerency reason right in front of a door or escalator, blocking it from everyone else.
6. When using elevators, going in first but staying in front next to the doors so others have to go past you in a tight space to get in the elevator
7. When entering the elevator first and not pressing the damn button while standing in front of it (this is especially applicable when there’s only one floor the elevator goes to)
8. Parking your shopping cart sideways on an aisle instead of parallel to shelves so it blocks the aisle while you look for what you want / try to make a decision / read labels / whatever
9. Entering a public transportation vehicle before letting out the people leaving at that stop/station, or standing right in front of the doors so you’re blocking others from exiting
10. Not holding the door open for people with wheelchairs, child prams (what’s the right word?), walking aids, big luggage etc.
11. Taking photos in dressing rooms (there’s a thousand places to take ”yayyyy at the gym, getting the pump on” selfies, a dressing room with other people isn’t one of them)
12. People who don’t return shopping carts
13. Not saying hello or at least nodding to acknowledge on walking trails
14. Dog walkers that let their dogs poo on trails and don’t pick it up.Whew, this felt good.
15. Parking your car so it takes up 2 spaces in a full lot/garage.
16. Being asked "did you win?" when you tell someone you ran a half marathon (or marathon, or biked 100 miles etc).
17. People that let their dogs run loose to chase bikers/runners.
18. Standing in line behind someone at the store - only to have them wait until everything is rung up and they hear the total to even. get. out. their. wallet. and start to look for their money or credit card.
We should probably start a "grateful" list too - just to keep things balanced. We'll start that after we're done with this one!0 -
I'd like to take a pass for this week. Sounds like lots of us are in the dumps right now. For me, I think it's a change of seasons - although I love fall - but the skies are gray and the days are noticeably shorter. I have been eating anything and everything in sight. And if it's not in sight, I drive to go find it! I actually feel physically ill from it all. Today I'm pulling myself together, will start tracking again, get some exercise, and get back on track.
@Beka3695 - sounds like you are doing great! Keep it up!

I just returned from a 2 mi walk with the little man.... we did one mile yesterday.
S-L-O-W miles!!!
I am taking this recovery serious. I had a long talk with myself and I’m okay with no longer running. Also, I will not push my return to intense walking too hard. I now realize that this is not something I should play around with.
Sometimes you are thrown a curveball.... STEP IN AND SWING FOR THE FENCE!!!5 -
I have never bought size 8 jeans in my adult life. I don’t remember ever wearing an 8 as a teen either.... now let’s hope they fit or are close. Fitting rooms are closed due to COVID.6 -

@Xiaolongbao that’s such a good point about showing up! The way I look at this is that since my weight is such an integral feature of my body and there’s no quitting on my body, there’s no quitting on this progress either. Things aren’t going the way I want them to go, but weight management isn’t something I can quit or start. Focusing on it can come and go, but the weight will always exist and need taking care of in some form. So, that’s why quitting this group is also a separate decision from weight management for me. Of course I’d love to hit my weight loss goals and contribute to the team, but right now that’s just not happening.
@TheMrWobbly congrats! That’s huge!
Yesterday I went outlet shopping and to Ikea with some friends, and we had a really fun field trip day (it took more than an hour to travel there). I got some updates for our kitchen and some clothing, and I’m excited to make this day a ”get-ready-for-fall” day. I want to work on organizing the apartment, try out the new kitchen stuff I bought, go on a walk (it’s sunny!) and bake an apple pie. And then lounge around in my new sweatshirt, light my new candles once it’s dark and enjoy my freshly baked apple pie. Next week should be easier at work too, and I already made plans to finish early on Friday to go on a little hiking trip with friends.

Happy Monday!! 11 days before my son's wedding and hit my goal weight💥💥💥💥
YES!!!!10 -
Well, this week started off horribly. My boss's wife passed away this morning. I didn't know her personally, but I'm devastated for him and his two young daughters who lost their mom. In addition to this news hitting me and everyone else right in the feels, it messes things up pretty badly business-wise. He's the CEO and nobody, not even he himself, can how soon he's able to come back, how long it takes until he's 100% etc. So, the rest of the executive team (4 people including me) are trying to figure out how to run everything, take over whatever he had on his list so he can take time off, and make sure nothing breaks down, on top of doing our own overly busy jobs and managing the mental load of these news. Obviously we *want* to be flexible and help him in whatever way we can and I'm not complaining, but it's still going to be bad and nobody knows if it takes days, weeks or months.
So yeah, instead of taking a calm day of collecting my nerves and tackling some bigger issues at work that need focus, I spent the day crying, making contingency plans, talking on the phone with board members and executives, planning internal communication and dividing responsibilities, and running virtual errands like ordering flowers. I've done none of the things I planned to do today at work. My plan of walking somewhere to get a healthy lunch switched to ordering delivery and munching it down while trying to form a view of what needs to be done.

I have a 2 hour window before TS Sally starts dumping rain on the Florida panhandle. Little man is still asleep. I dare not wake him as he has been a little dictator lately. We have been calling him Blake Jon Un... I’m sure he will be up soon.
I am dressed and hopefully we can get a walk in before the rains set in.
I hope everyone has a wonderful, goal hitting day. Let’s channel the success of @LaurieWrobo!!!! Track your food and move your body!!3 -
Good Morning!
I am back from vacation (only was off my main job) but I needed tha time.
I did a little meal prep last night.. so today and tomorrows lunch is steak strips with water chestnuts and garlic.
I also bought a new water glass for my office.
Its 22ounces. I want to go through 3 of these each day before my main job is over.
I am cutting out beer Sunday - Thursday. Only allowing wine.
Lunch is almost upon me and I AM going for a walk. I need to start getting away from my desk more.
I am also proud of myself for getting into bed before midnight and felt much better getting up at 8am. I am going to keep striving for earlier times so I can get a morning walk in. Its just so hard when I dont leave the house with my main job and just move over one room LOL3 -
