    Trimstones Monday Challenge time-

Im attempting to have small weekly challenges for our team, but bear with me as Im spacye as heck, haha. But Im going to try to make this a regular thing.

This weeks challenge is-CUT THE SUGAR!!!!

Now some of you may remember me telling you about this group that comes monthly to my work and they do body composition analysis' for anyone that wants to participate, but even better they arent trying to tell you to diet and exercise and lose 50lbs, ext, but they try to help you make small changes that will better you, whether its to lose weight, gain muscle, get better gut health, ect, they want to help you become a better you.

One thing this group challenges us to do it CUT THE SUGAR. And they dont mean skip the fruit, they mean skip the processed sugars, and added sugars, and the cool thing is you can pick to do all, or just 1, its up to you. so here they are-

1-Eliminate All Straight Sugars-This includes table sugar, high fructose corn syrup, raw sugar, brown sugar, coffee sweeteners, honey, agave, fruit juice, and artificial sweetners

2-7g or less of sugar per serving-This is for anything that comes with a label, Not fresh fruits. Read labels, and try not to eat anything with more than 7g of sugar per serving

3- If its white, dont eat it-This includes Bread, cereal, chips, muffins, donuts, pasta, tortillas, and fried foods with breading.

I chose this challenge because the recommended amount of sugar per day is 36g for men, and 25g for women...But the average person consumes almost 3x the recommended amount at 77g of sugar per day.

Here is a link summing up what too much sugar does to your body. The video I shared last week also has a part in it that does good at explaining what too much sugar does.
    https://www.webmd.com/diabetes/features/how-sugar-affects-your-body

For me, I am choosing to do 2 and 3. Im already pretty good at #1, I drink my coffee black, I dont drink juice, I rarely add sweeteners of any kind to my drinks (I used to and it was a bad habit that I finally broke) So I am only going to eat carb balance tortillas, If I do eat bread, it will be whole wheat, and same with pasta. I also will bot be consuming any pastry items. and for #2 I will only consume foods with less than 7g of sugar with the exception of my light and fir greek yogurts, I beleive those have 8g but I eat one every day otherwise my tummy gets very angry with me.

Share with us how you plan to CUT THE SUGAR this week!!!!!!

Where is everybody???? I forgot to check in on here yesterday and thought there would be like 2 new responses, There's 3????? lol. Anywho, I am the same weight this week, all due to that lovely fast food I ate 3 days ago that is STILL haunting me, bleck. I am so dang bloated, I wore leggings last night to take my daughter to dnce and I seem my reflection and I looked 5 months pregnant, ugh.

I am suppose to be getting plexus in the mail tomorrow. Im not big on all these weightloss, health plan pyramid schemes though. I am trying their microbiom drink and a couple other suppliments because my cousins wife, who is super fit, has gut issues and says this has helped her so much with her digestive issues and bloating. I have IBS-C and Gilberts syndrom that causes digestive issues, and Like I said above, I am still bloated from a lunch I ate 3 days ago. Im hoping this helps like others say it does, if not, oh well then. I will let you all know how it goes

I take care of my mom, who is bed bound, on the weekends. I just can’t seem to get enough steps in during those days ☹️

I'm here, I've been watching my bathroom scale overheat from all the increases I've been racking up. Where is my mojo is the operative question.

I’m here too. Kinda in limbo. I exercise a lot, then ruin it with poor food choices. My mom is in home hospice and I spend a lot of time with her. I just need to stop using her situation as an excuse to eat junk.

@simbersea I took care of my mom for 16 years and she was bed bound for some of that time. I can relate. Hold on to those memories though...I'd give anything to be "that tired" again...I lost her Jul 1, 2011. Seems like just yesterday...I miss her every day!

Take care of yourself though...caregiver burnout is a thing...take time to breathe and let others step in...don't be one of those who won't ask for help...
