Hi guys! I want to apologize about being absent lately. I will be back in Florida tomorrow night and things will hopefully be more normal again.
The last few days have been crazy. Last night I caved to stress and binged. I ate so much crap!!! I’m up 4 lbs from Saturday.
I know I haven’t eaten 14k cal over maintenance, but I’ve not been healthy either. I have not logged since Friday.
This is a trend that must stop IMMEDIATELY!!! I am so proud of my 9 lb month last month. I do not want to ruin all the progress I’ve made.
I'm new to this group, but just want to say; it's a new day! Drink as much water as you can and flush out the sodium and whatever else is causing you to be up - because obviously, you didn't gain that much. You've got this! 9 lbs in a month is inspiring to me! Don't let the bingeing turn into more days, just keep moving forward.

Since we have several new folks I wanted to share this.
⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ This would not have been possible without this group!!! You are my family!6 -
Hey
Were steps going to be recorded?
Or are we not doing this anymore?0 -
@Beka3695 I feel you!! These last two days have been awful for my eating habits. REMEMBER - we are stronger than we think. We got this!!2

After that, though, a few major things happened. I lost one of my cats who I adored, I got diagnosed with a chronic pain condition and we realised that although we really wanted kids we couldn’t afford it for a few years. So, I was extremely heartbroken for a number of reasons and just ate.
I’ve been trying since then to get weight off but not got below 220, which is where I was last year before we started trying for a baby. I figured this was going to be super happy time as FINALLY we were getting a baby but it took me a long time to conceive so I ate rather than exercised as I was sad. But back in January we got our positive when I was back at my very highest of 255. Yay. I also came off painkillers that are notorious for making weight loss harder.
Baby Quinn is here now and is 5 weeks old and I really want to be healthy for him. I weighed myself a few weeks ago and I was at 245 so that’s my starting point. Been having a bad few weeks too though, as although we have our gorgeous boy we’ve also lost two family cats in the last month, one after a very long illness and one very suddenly. I’m also struggling not getting to see my parents so much due to COVID. So I haven’t properly started eating well and slipped into my comfort eating ways. It can’t continue! Which is why I’m so excited to be back here. Hoping you can all keep me on the straight and narrow 🤞
My goals for November are just getting back into good habits and logging food again 💪🏻 long term I’d love to be back under 200lbs.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your furkids!! I only have fur children and I lost 2 of them very close together (within a week of each other) back in April. One had hemangiosarcoma and we were super focused on her and her chemo. Then another one started acting distressed and we took
him to the vet and he had leukemia....
We were devastated to lose 2 so close to each other. I have 7 furkids left and I know I will fall off the wagon after I lose each one of them. The hardest part about having furkids is that you know that you’ll outlive them. 😔
I’m so sorry for your losses too, it’s so heartbreaking. I agree with the outliving, it put me off getting more pets for ages until someone told me the key is to remember that although they’re only with you a short time it means they’re whole life is a happy one for having you in it. ❤️

I love the idea of the calendar @Beka3695! I started my journey around May, but didn't think to do a weigh in, take pictures, or anything - probably because at that point I hadn't totally committed to this weight loss thing.
To start tracking my progress, this past week I went through some photos around the time that I started losing weight, so I at least have something to show my progress - even though those pictures weren't taken for that purpose. One of my besties wants to do some toning, so we agreed we'll take each other's pictures the 1st of every month. We did our first set Nov 1! I'm kinda looking forward to seeing the changes! I of course am now regularly weighing myself (maybe I'll start a calendar too!), but I've also been thinking I should start taking some measurements, but I don't want to measure everything. Anyone do measurements and have suggestions what I should focus on? I was thinking hips, waist, bust and upper arm. Maybe thigh? I dunno. I don't want it to be too cumbersome.
It's my first weigh in with the group tomorrow. I'm hopeful because my last weigh in was only down 0.4 lbs, so I hope that means I was just holding on to some water or something, and I'll see more of a jump tomorrow morning. I'll let you know!4 -
@heatherbluebell I measure too much probably - but where I like to see the most progress and what matters to me, is hips, waist, belly button, bicep. Those are my trouble areas and ones I want to see change the most. I would pick your areas where you really want to track progress. It won't seem cumbersome when you are consistent and get to see those numbers drop! It's a great way to track progress on those stupid weeks where the scale doesn't move even when you are on track. I also measure thigh, calf, neck and bust - but I see the least amount of change in those areas (except my boobs shrinking faster than my belly LOL). I just track those for my own knowledge.1
-
Thanks for the advice @lckiehl! Maybe I’ll start with one measure of everything (so I gave it), then focus on hip, waist, belly button and biceps!1

Yesterday's food, minus the chocolate egg. My shark week was dying for something chocolate at work last night

I have next week off from work, which means I will be out of my routine. Eek! But I am going to the rocky mountains for a couple days (Jasper national park if any of you are familiar with the Canadian Rockies) and going on a couple trail walks (mountain air is so good for my soul!). I'm hoping in the end, I'll have an ok week all told.6 -
@heatherbluebell you can add your photo and measurements in MFP where you enter your weight. I haven’t added my photo in a while but I haven’t had a big change in my weight lately. I was going to take my measurements again on Nov 1 and I completely forgot. The measurement options on MFP don’t work well for me (not enough measurement points) but it might work for you. I just keep a note on my phone.3

Hi team!
Well, I’m back in Florida now. I’ve realized I have much more of a routine here. I am happy to find my groove again. I will likely show a small gain this week... I’m currently 1.8 up from last Saturday. Progress, not perfection!!! Right?
I have not been the most consistent the last few days. Logging has been almost non existent. I’m committing to myself to log and exercise today. Little man is napping. We will go for our walk after.
You only fail if you stop trying!!!!5 -
Weigh In Wednesday, sorry on Thursday a day late. I totally forget to weigh in. I think I just didn't wanna face the truth, lol. I ate Halloween candy. Correction - overate.

Hello!
I'm Jen, 50 yrs old, three amazing adult children, two adorable grand babies with one on the way. I have two silly rescued pit bulls and volunteer with several rescues in the area. I love all animals and nature. My kids call me a hippy dippy lol. I live on the coast in Virginia and love gardening, running, biking, lifting weights and yoga. And of course being on/in the water:)
Looking forward to making this journey with you all! I started in October 2019 at 224 pounds and am down to 159.5 as of now. Let's do this!6 -
Thanks @cre804! I didn’t really think about using MFP to help track that. I’m totally gonna look into it!1
