    Does anyone count their steps by walking in place at home? If so, what device do you use to count your steps such as when watching a video that walks a mile in place? I'm not sure if this counts as "steps"...can someone explain? Thanks :)

    Any activity where you're walking counts as steps...on machines, biking, rowing, eliptical, treadmill also counts..I wear a fitbit and as long as you're swinging your arms as you walk, it will catch those steps...the mile markers don't matter much as far as your stepping. I do a lot of walking in place, while watching tv just to keep active and avoid sitting.

    I would like to a part of the step challenge (not sure quite how to send you a message).

    I want to try for 10,000 steps a day- though not doing great this week. LOL.

    @vjsky I added you to the challenge and recorded your steps. Please send me your steps for Nov 1st and you'll be caught up through yesterday. Welcome to the insanity!

    To send someone a private message, you go back to your Home page in MFP and click on Mail at the top, then put in their userid and compose your message. It's a little bit wonky, so it seems to make a difference as to whether a person's userid has capital or lower case letters. Sometimes they go through, sometimes they don't. You can always email me at jakrall@cox.net as well.

    @jessicakrall8 My fitbit will be bought today or tomorrow, I am shopping online now, thanks for your answers (above) so I know what to do here about walking in place, etc. :)

    @jessicakrall8 and everyone: I just bought a pink wristband fitbit and will pick it up from the store in an hour! Woohoo! Am looking forward to counting my steps today!
