Great job in week one everyone! It's really cool to see the numbers come together and see how well everyone is doing. Just curious - is anyone else on a plan to lose really slowly? I know that's not glamorous, but my focus currently has been to eat and exercise in a sustainable way. I know I could lose more quickly, but I would also be hungry and grumpy, and much more likely to binge, or get frustrated and give up. Instead, I am eating close to 2000 calories per day (or more some weeks) and working out at least 3x weekly with resistance training. It's slow going, but steady and I love the energy I have and that I don't feel hungry or obsess over eating (or not eating). Is anyone on a similar journey? I will admit I get jealous of the multi-pound weight loss some of you are getting, by I am trying to stay focused on my journey and what I hope to be a long-term lifestyle change.3

I've failed the last couple days with my photo pictures. Ugh. Tonight I'm gonna cook a bit and be back on track.0

Hey @lckiehl, I was one that pulled a big loss this week, but you’ll likely not see me on the list again. I’m like you in wanting slow and steady. The reason for my number was because the week before I was on my cycle and only lost 0.4 pounds, so I think my body was catching up. And big number losses for me at a very heavy weight aren’t so huge from the perspective of % of body weight.
Anyways, I made the decision for slow and steady from my own experience. And what’s right for me, may be different for someone else because of their own experiences... Story about me: I’ve tried the fad diets and once lost 100 lbs in 6 months, but it ruined my metabolism, gave me an eating disorder, and I gained almost DOUBLE the weight back. It. Was. Not. Sustainable. I’m never doing anything like that again. I know the only way I’m going to succeed *long term* (for me, based on my experience and personality) is to make small and sustainable changes to my life. So, you’re not alone and don’t get discouraged!! And although you’re not alone, I also say it’s not worth comparing yourself to others. What matters is what you want and what works for you!3 -
@beka3695 You are rocking it! Well done!0

@heatherbluebell thanks for sharing! I just like connecting with others. I was not posting to make anyone feel bad or wrong, just looking for connection. I'm happy to be connected to you on MFP and am cheering your journey!1

@lckiehl Most of us are losing slowly. If someone has a lot of weight left to lose or has a lot of water weight, they might have a really big week. Other people have less accurate scales and their reported weight loss could be off (just like counting calories and exercise calorie burn isn’t an exact science, even the most accurate scale to weigh ourselves has some room for error).
I’m only set to lose 1 lb a week, but for the past 2 I’ve maintained. I haven’t been exercising as much as I need to nor have I been eating properly (over goal most days). Back on the wagon this week though!
And welcome to the group!2 -
@Dogmom1978 thanks for replying Its helpful to hear about others' journeys to health. Everyone is a bit different, but we all have essentially the same goal. I love the group support!1

I did a bunch of celebrating over the weekend for my birthday which was Sunday and had gained 3 lbs; but got back on track on Monday and lost what I had gained and back to where I started which is fine w/me; I even had 2 White Claws last night @ bowling leagues and I still lost!8 -
So I discovered spaghetti squash this weekend. And made homemade meatballs to go with it. Sprinkled half a serving of mozzarella cheese and a serving of sauce. YUM!
I am also attempting more structure with my work outs. Sunday cardio with the dogs weather permitting, mon and tue weights, cardio, evening dog walk, wed cardio and evening dog walk, thurs and fri weights, cardio, evening dog walk, Saturday cardio with the dogs.
Of course tonight, I have to help my husband deliver a heavy piece of gym equipment so my cardio time will be limited. I was hoping for 2 hrs (including the evening dog walk) but I think I’ll be lucky if I get the dog walk in (40 min).7 -
Been working on a big project at work and stress eating at my desk. Working late and coming home and crashing on the couch. It will be done on December 8th but I need to get it under control now. I don’t want to keep gaining like this week.

Well, gained 1.0 pound this week which kinda sucks, but I’m not surprised. And I don’t feel defeated. I had a huge loss last week, and I’m on vacation this week, so I’m out of my routine. It’ll be good to get back to my routine next week.5 -
Weigh In Wednesday, sorry a day late again, lol.

I'm ok with it after the gain, because I'll admit I haven't been consistent. So yay!3 -
Yesterday's food wasn't a lot. Didn't feel the greatest.

Ahhh we were first this week, well done everyone!
I’m a day late this week as I was sure today was wednesday. So now I feel like I’ve lost a day 😹

Not much this week but I’ve been living off chocolate and coffee this week to get through sleepless nights and we had takeaway for husband’s birthday so lucky I didn’t gain really.2 -
Ah sorry!! We’ve had a slew of medical issues and this totally slipped my mind. I’m now at 277 😀2

Lost my original post but please carry over my stats to next week since I’m out of town. Food has been somewhat challenging but I’ve made a few good choices and have walked the beach daily. I’ve been battling severe bloat the past few days, due I’m sure to too much carbs and sodium and not enough water. Funny how I’ve been craving vegetables and savory foods, pretty much the opposite of what’s easily available.2 -
Side note: The pier by our hotel put up their Christmas light tonight. And I am totally okay with that.

Weigh in days are mondays but it’s taken me this long to post! It’s birthday week for myself and husband with muuuuuuch cake, wine, and celebrations. I’m trying to be more moderate than usual and not give up completely like I would have done in the past. Aim for this week is not to gain....3 -

Wrong direction! Had a bad week. Turned it around too late and ended up gaining.

Right with you @Hope_bay74 and work has been taking all hours over the last few weeks. Definitely weighing in Saturday and having a catch up. At least I have found a routine of running / cycling to work a few days a week.
Love y'all - stay safe, keep rocking it @Beka36950 -
