HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!

We also track those small, steady losses with the Green Week count. If you lose, however small an amount, it counts for 1 week in the green. The total will be by month, and cumulative - so you can really rack them up and get to your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard.

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:

Username
Weigh In Day
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
LTD (Loss to Date): your TOTAL loss since your highest weight ever (optional)

If you need a week off, a break, a change of weigh-in day - just ask your Captains here on your team chat page. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to ask if you are travelling, sick, or just needing some time off. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions and weigh in if you want to, but your weigh-ins will not be counted on the weekly tally.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! After hitting your goal, you need support to stay there, and you can help your teammates join you. You continue to weigh in every week, and if you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!

In addition to your own team, there are F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

My name is Patsy, 68 years old, about 5'2" and 160 pounds. Would love to be in the 140s. I didn't gain weight until my 40s when I was working at a desk all day. My highest was ~179~ about three years ago. I started this year doing pretty good until March when I was diagnosed with liver cancer. The doctors would prefer I maintain my weight but I have been trying to lose very slowly. It's hard because the chemo stimulated my appetite and I was eating everything in sight for a while. Even so the scale has not moved much. After four months on chemo with no results, I started on an immunotherapy regimen which shrank the tumor by half so far! I am hoping the next scan in January will show it gone! I plan to beat this!

Welcome to all the newcomers and returning losers. We can do this with persistence!

Hello to all our new members, and everyone I’ve been getting to know in these last few months. My name is Kandi. I’m a single parent to a 12 year old and I work a full time job. My weight loss struggles and accomplishments. I’ve been heavy since I hit my teenage years. As a teenager my weight fluctuated between 190 and 220. I did lose at one point when I was 29 and I ended up pregnant. Not complaining, I was happy. And after my daughter was born I lost all the baby weight and then some. I was in a size 10. Then I gave up on myself as my daughter hit her toddler years. I was too busy working, going to college, and taking care of her to worry about what I ate. And at 40 I saw pictures of myself and didn’t recognize myself. I had ballooned up to 268 in a size 20/22. And I slowly changed my habits. I quit baking and eating sugar and drinking sugar and slowly I lost down to 225. That’s what I weighed in August when I joined this group. I’ve lost 31 pounds since and am now 193. Goal weight is not set in stone. But at least another 20 pounds and we will see how I feel there. So I’m down 76 ish pounds. And this is the difference.

    Check in for Saturday
    Food-logged and under
    Water-80 oz
Exercise 30 min walking video, PT, stretching and strength.

I had a weird day yesterday. A friend stopped in right about lunch time because she was in the area. She had a late breakfast and didn't want to eat. I put off lunch until after she left which was 3:30 ish. I was very hungry by then, I thought I had a sandwich left from the food prep I did mid week but couldn't find it. I wasn't sure what to do so I decided to just have a little something which ended up being a pear and cheesestick. Then I had a little dessert hummus. I ended up having normal lunch calorie wise but a bit weird. Today will be better. I am going to prep for the week. I am going to do breakfast and lunch plus dinners until Tuesday. I am so happy for once to have come through Thanksgiving following my plan and getting right back on track. For those of you who have been on this team for a while, you know I usually struggle.

Sundays are tough for me with the computer because of church so I will post my intro tomorrow. Let's plan for a great week this week. I can't believe it will be December soon!

Wow! We have so much to celebrate on this team, we had a great month! It may have been the best month ever for me. I certainly turned things around. To those who didn't have the best month-you are still here and not giving up. Give yourself a pat on the back for that. We all still have time to finish the year strong my friends. xo

    From November's thread-
    @tryingagain5 Sounds like a nice Thanksgiving :)
@GingerPwr Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. It is important that you find a routine that works for you and your schedule. I know you have a busy schedule so finding something that fits may be challenging but you can do it!
@pacsnc6 Sounds like a wonderful holiday with your family. I am glad you enjoyed it.
@lenka1 This is a busy time of year, especially for a busy Mama. Hang in there, you can do it.
@goingape Nice loss and amazing overall loss! It is inspiring to see it can be done.
@kirsten1872 Not bad for after Thanksgiving! Hope you had a nice one!
@1theresamcvean I love the pictures from your walk! I think on a mild night I am going to walk around the neighborhood and look at the lights!
@hope002 That scale keeps going down.... xo
    Now to December-
@pacsnc6 You are an inspiration! xo
@debbiewsharpe I love your post about hope-especially in these times xoxo
@mxlaw90 Nice weigh in and awesome total loss! :)
@kandi3570 I have said it to you before but you are an inspiration, you have lost what I needed to lose when I started. It gives me hope to see that it can be done. You look beautiful in both of your pics but you can really see a difference in your weight. It must feel awesome :)

@kandi3570 What a great transformation!!!! I'm so happy for you!
@sleepymom5 I think that's my biggest eating issue is when I'm not prepared and then make weird decisions. Glad the pear and cheese got you through it. I'm also going to meal prep in a little while.

Holy cow - THAT was surprising.

Took a long walk today (4 miles) and now I have to do some school work and some grocery shopping and some meal prepping.

Keep making and achieving those goals, ya'll!

@sleepymom5 thank you. You really have done an awesome job this month. I had wanted to do my 5k on Thanksgiving but it didn’t happen. So I’m really glad that you did. You inspire me to. You’re dedication and support inspires me. Congrats!
    @GingerPwr thank you.

This week's Challenge is UP! And I hope it will help - you'll pick 2 magic numbers to track all week, and post every day about how they are going. You can change during the week if you need to - as long as you track 2 things every day. Check it out!

:star:The Green Challenge :star: Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!! B)

Hi everyone! I am a returning loser from Toronto, Canada. I live here with my husband and two sons, ages 14 & 10. We are currently in a second wave lockdown, but it does not feel nearly as bad as our first one last spring since the kids are in school this time. I just reached goal in November and have lost 30 lbs overall. I am just under 5’4” and petite, so 30 lbs made quite the difference in how I feel, how I look and my health too. I lost super slow, but pretty steady, doing IF, eat lower carb and a lot of walking. I am a runner, but sat out much of this year. I just got back to it today in fact, and it feels great. In November, I posted some Hygge tips and will do a few more leading up to the holidays. I am on cheer squad this month while I figure out my 2021 goals. So I am here to cheer! Welcome all new and returning members! Hope that everyone has an amazing December!

@goingape, @kiane50, @kandi3570 and @sleepymom5 - Congratulations for making it onto the F2F leaderboards! Way to go!

    @goingape, @Zumba_Luvah and @pacsnc6, @sleepymom5, & @kandi3570 - Congratulations on reaching those amazing milestones! @goingape - that 70 lbs weight loss is so impressive!

    @lennoncpa - I love starting a new month with a Sunny photo!

@GingerPwr Nice loss! Sounds like you are setting yourself up for a good week with planning and prepping.

@lennoncpa Great selfie with Sunny! Lol! I could look at his pics all day!
@Cafeleia I am glad you are staying on the cheer squad. I would miss you! I am looking forward to more Hygge tips this month!

    About me
Hi! My name is Pam. I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia. I have been married 30 years and have 5 children 29-20. I also have a golden doodle named Daisy. I am a nurse but retired at the moment. I am still trying to decide what I want to do career wise. I like to spend my summers at the Jersey shore.
    My weight story
I was never overweight although I always thought I was fat growing up. I gained A TON of weight with my pregnancies and ended up at 221 lbs. Unfortunately that ended up being my heaviest even when I wasn't pregnant . At the end June of 2012 I decided I either had to get serious and lose weight or accept that I am obese and live my life. I got a fitbit and joined MFP on July 1, 2012. Since then, I have gained and lost 30 or more pounds quite a few times. I have never gotten back to that starting weight but I have gotten close. Although I haven't been as successful with my weight loss as I would like, I have learned a lot. I eat so much healthier than I used to. I also am in good physical shape, I love to hike, walk, kayak and bike. Actually anything outdoors I usually enjoy. I do have a home gym which has a bike, treadmill, elliptical, weights and a few other things. I want to enjoy exercising and not have it be a chore. I am always looking for fun, new workouts.
    The present
I lost 7 pounds in November which is a lot for me. I plan to keep this going in December. I am working on overeating and hunger. I am only eating when I am hungry. When I eat, I am stopping when I am satisfied, not full. It isn't easy after years of overeating. I find I do not have as big of an appetite as I thought. I also have learned that a lot of times I think I am hungry, I am not, it is more of an urge to eat. I have come so far but have a ways to go. I also have been doing IF 14-16 hours which helps with evening snacking.

My November goals are going to stay my December goals.
    1. Plan and log my food everyday
    2. 30 min cardio at least 5/7 days
    3. 5,000 steps/day-raising to 7,000 in December
    4. Strength 2/7 days (T/Th)
    5. PT and Stretching 5/7 days
    6. At least 64 oz water daily
    7. 7-8 hours sleep each night
    8. Get in habit of working out early in the morning
    9. IF at least 14 hours 5/7 days
    10. Continue working on overeating/hunger

I did meet all of them but #8 in November. My days would go smoother if I got that exercise done first thing...

  • Hi guys and gals, posting my weigh in to kick off December.

    xX_PhoenixRising_Xx
    Weigh in week 1
    Day: Sunday
    PW: 245.8 (111.5 kg)
    CW: 246.0 (111.6 kg)
    LTD: 30 lbs (13.6 kg)

Ugh, there's a typo in my last weigh-in, being on account of how I'm not American and don't think naturally in lbs. Nor did I proof-read properly, to which my only excuse is that it's my day job and I go on strike out-of-hours  So admins, the last weigh in for November should be 245.8 lbs, not 248.5 lbs. I had the kgs correct lol

    Anyway, hello newcomers, welcome.

I'm Kristy, I'm 41, and I won't have the answer to life, the universe and everything until next month when it's my birthday. (Please do not disabuse me of this notion, true belief is a magical thing that brings its own rewards  )

Anyway, I lurk around here in the wee small hours of most mornings for you Northern Hemisphere folks, Aotearoa/New Zealand is always way ahead of the rest of the world. It's almost tomorrow here already, and most of you are barely starting today.

The boring stuff - I've been married to the same guy for 18 years, we have four kids. Two boys, two girls. My youngest two are girl/boy twins, they don't come with a return address or instruction manual, and if you ask me if they're identical, I will tell you yes.

For my day job I'm a technical writer and these days I specialise in payments compliance. I am also a qualified Personal Trainer which is way more fun but doesn't pay the bills, so I don't work as one any more.

I have always been overweight. In 2011 I hit 329 lbs, something had to give, so I turned down weight loss surgery and decided to lose the weight on my own. Over several years I lost 160+ lbs, kept it off for a bit, then injured myself, started getting migraines, diagnosed with a couple of other things including Eating Disorders, and then weight came back on. A bit more than half of it anyway.

In Feb 2020 I came back to MFP at 125 kg. The weight is coming off slowly, but for me to be healthy, it has to.

Each month my aim is to end the month lighter than I started it. So, on with December.
