Hello WeightNoMores! I'll have the report from the F2F survey done tonight so we can see what ideas people have come up with. If you have not done it yet, it is still open -
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NDQHF22
I'll close it tonight. Thanks to everyone who participates!1 -
Check in for Monday
Food-logged and under
Water-80 oz
Exercise-45 min strength and PT, 20 min walking video
I was dragging yesterday. I forced myself to do the 20 min. of the walking video. I did have 2 NSVs yesterday. The first was not eating the candy that I was setting out for the girls to do ginger bread houses. I usually do a lot of mindless eating when I am setting everything up. The second NSV happened at dinner. We ordered pizza and I had 2 slices with salad on my plan. I was also starving. I had salad and my first slice and I was satisfied. I really wanted the second piece and was looking for any little sign that I wasn't quite there. I even thought of having a half a slice but if I was being honest with myself, I knew I was done. Hopefully these moments happen more and more and my overeating happens less and less.
Have a great day everyone!
@jedaschultz I am a stress eater too. I gained so much when Jim was sick. I am working on it. It isn't easy but I am really starting to give in a lot less. Hang in there, one day at a time.
You can do it!
@KristieJC I love fried chicken! Great restraint stopping at 1 piece Give yourself a pat on the back for that.
@goingape I hope dining out stays open so your holiday plans can happen. It is getting way too cold to meet outdoors. Have fun doing the cookies with the boys. It's so fun! Ohhh Baklava! Yum! I haven't had that in years....Good thing about it, it is too sweet to overeat! This is coming from a girl with a mouth full of sweet tooths (teeth didn't seem to sound right to substitute for sweet tooth Lol!)
@minstrelofsarcasm It is bad enough to be sick but to have all the MS complications really takes it to another level. Hope you are feeling better soon. I am glad to see that you have so many friends who are helping you out. Sending hugs. xo.
@Cafelelia Those pictures made my morning!5 -
@minstrelofsarcasm I was looking back in my photos for this and realized there were a lot of nice things that happened in 2020. It made me think after having such a bad year, looks like the was a whole lot of good too.
So my pics- I did the lights myself this year and Ned appeared out of nowhere during the night. Somehow he disappeared, I was not involved but let’s also say, I didn’t stop it from happening lol!
The display without Ned (the suspect MAY be in the background )
The missing poster
Shannon was not happy but I can honestly say I don’t know where he is 😂
Many people have been questioned and accused! Lol! Don't worry, all in good fun.5 -
Checking in. Week on track, 2.5 days of work left until 3 week break. Not that I am counting 😁
Something cute from forever ago... have a few pics of my twins. Aged 2, 5 (first day of school) and 6 or 7 I think. They're 12 now. "Are they identical?" Absolutely. I have told many people that after being asked with them at these ages... 😅😅

Some funny pictures to share:
This first one we call mobile gas chamber
This was a picture my daughter drew in kindergarten of her teacher doing “thumbs up for the kids”. 😂😂. I saved it! It will be at her graduation party.
This is a picture of my daughter at 4 or 5 helping me make sugar cookies. Do you see that ornery face. She started karate chopping the flour shortly after. I, to this day, blame spongebob.

My weight just seems to be fluctuating the same 2 to 3 pounds for going on 2 weeks. It’s frustrating but I’ve upped my steps. Hopefully the scale will start moving again. I put in 7 miles worth of steps today. I’m close to goal but not close enough. I need to lose at least another 6-8 lbs before the first week of January. Then I will reassess how far I’m going. It depends on how frustrated I get and how I feel. For me it isn’t a magical number on a scale it’s about how I feel. And I’m ok with where I am, but I did this stupid challenge. And my competitive spirit says I have to win it. And I’d like to be around 180-182 by weigh in day January 5th.3

I have managed to get up at 4am yesterday and today. Hopefully again tomorrow. I really like the ifit ap, its keeping me motivated to walk on the dreaded treadmill. I have also gotten over 10,000 steps all 3 days this week. Not sure if I will have a loss this week as it is tom week and also that always just seems to be my luck but my fingers are crossed.2

Hi all. For my positivity vibes - @minstrelofsarcasm
My son works in a grocery store and he brought home cokes for us. It was a very sweet gesture, I hadn’t had pop in a long time! Luckily he got thirsty later that night so he drank it for me. ; )
I’m taking a rest day. My shoulder and hip were wonky so I went to the chiro and I need to take it easy for a day.3 -

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!
As we reach the end of the year, it’s a great time for reflection on where we came from and what we’ve been through.
Personally, this year has been a wild ride for me, but one of the things I was most grateful for was the invitation to join this team from Theresa, @1theresamcvean , in June. Little did I know back then that I would eventually become a co-captain with her when Lisa, @cafelelia , stepped down just a month later. I was not expecting to find such a supportive community, and I most definitely was not expecting to enjoy being a part of it – my health journey has so often been a solo adventure. Today, I hope to never go it alone ever again.
And now, we reach the next stage of Team Weight No More, as Theresa decides to become one of many great previous captains and steps back into being a team member. Theresa has been such an incredibly positive presence in the group, and I someday hope to be able to connect with all of you as well as she has.
Which leads me to an open invitation to all of you:HELP WANTED: Co-Captain of Team Weight No More
Start Date: Transition scheduled for the end of December into the beginning of January
Responsibilities:
• Enter weights for your team into the spreadsheet by early Sunday morning (Eastern)
• Be active in team discussions
• Answer questions and help new members
• Encourage challengers to participate in challenges and in group discussions
• Create and post daily / weekly challenges and/or topics to promote team involvement and help keep the team engaged
• Remind challengers when they are due to weigh in - tag or message them if necessary – pester those who are late
• Encourage participation in the full group challenges
• Work with your co-captain and motivator(s) to keep the team going strong
• Refer any changes needed in the spreadsheets, problems with members, or other issues to the Moderators
• Participate in the Captains Lounge chat thread, and look there for announcements
Benefits:
• New level of accountability
• Really cool co-captain (ahem)
• Dental plan*
• Undying adulation from the team members
*not valid in all countries, see underside for details, terms and conditions may apply
This role really hasn’t taken up too much of my time – I think the most I’ve ever worked on anything for the group is this message, and that’s just because I took a break between writing the first and second paragraphs to get lost in my MFP inbox to get the dates right. And for whomever steps into the role, know that you are not alone in completing all captain responsibilities. Theresa and I have a relaxed breakdown of tasks, and I am not planning to become a stickler now that she is stepping down.
I know that taking on responsibilities during a pandemic may be scary, but I can honestly say that the additional structure has been nothing but beneficial for me.
If you would like to state your interest or have questions, please direct them to me and/or Theresa. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
So... yeah. That's all.
~ Ashley

I have started eating more and guess what I have lost some weight now at my lowest in years! I guess mixing things up sometimes works!4
-
PW: 205.1
CW: 200.9
LTD: 11.1
There is no way I lost 4.2 pounds of actual weight. I always lose a lot the first week I start back up, which I’m sure is mostly water that I’m no longer retaining because I’m not eating so much junk. But that’s what the scale tells me, so that’ll help our numbers a lot for this week.
Great loss, Kristie!

@Cafelelia Thanks for sharing the elf dance! I have a big smile on my face thanks to your boys. Oh, I love your fridge. We used to have a pink one with pink egg trays and everything. I think it was a Fridgidaire. Interestingly, it was when we lived in your neighbourhood on Sorauren. Funny. Merry Christmas!0

Thanks, Ashley. You're an amazing co-captain and I've loved sharing this role with you.
I am stepping back as it's become very busy for me. My new business has launched, I'm hiring genealogists from all over North America at the moment and am working from morning to night. I've become chair of the Ontario Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists starting on January 6th.
But also, I need to support my sister from afar. She looks after both of our parents who are in nursing homes where she lives, five hours away in Northern Ontario. My mother is failing and has just signed the form for medical assistance in dying, though a date has not been set. (To set the stage a bit, my mother possesses a particularly difficult personality and was scheduled for MAiD a little over a year ago, but lost competence at that time.) My sister was recently diagnosed and is receiving treatment for Lyme Disease (a hazard of living on a breathtaking lake in the woods), which was caught about two years along. I was supposed to go up but when our region was locked down, I was no longer able to go to her region and, in particular, into the nursing home. Complicated emotions abound.
I recommend the role of co-chair. It helped me in my journey in so many ways. Lately, though, I feel as if I'm not serving TWNM as well as you deserve.
I'm looking forward to remaining as a member here and co-chair emerita.
If you have any questions, please let us know.

F2F Survey Report (a bit long, but please read!)
A big thank you to all the people who responded to our survey! Sixty-four responses were submitted. There was a lot of love, and many great ideas. Here are the highlights and some insights into how you can get even more out of F2F:
First of all, over 96% of you find that being on one of the F2F teams has helped you lose weight and improve fitness, 41% consistently and 56% at least some of the time. This is great! Most people are active in the team chats, and enjoy them as the best part of F2F.
The full group challenges are used by about half of the respondents. There are a few people who are not aware of them, or just get frustrated with MFP navigation. I know that navigating around the different areas of F2F can be tricky, especially if you are using a phone or tablet, but if you all bookmark/mark as favorite the F2F “home” page, you can find everything from there more easily. Here it is:
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/114605-fat-2-fit-weight-loss-challenge-and-support-group
Full group challenges are meant to be optional, so there is no problem if you don’t have time or they do not interest you. We try to vary them as much as possible. Some people would like more fitness-based challenges, especially if they include modifications for those who need them. We’ll keep this in mind! If you have other suggestions, they are always welcome in the Idea Lounge (get there from the main page link above).
Internal team challenges also get about a 50% thumbs up (step teams, etc.) and some people would like to see more of that, others find it just clutters up the chat thread. Keep reading for some ideas on how to improve your experience if you are not feeling like your team does it for you!
One of F2Fs strengths is the openness to different approaches, ways of supporting one another, ages, levels, and general styles. A few people who answered the survey were unhappy with what I would call the team style or “feel”. Too much chat, not enough chat, too many challenges, not enough, too strict, too open - you get the idea. If you are feeling any of those things, please take some time to read the other team chats. Just browse through a few days of each, and see if there is one that fits your own style better than where you are. A change of team is always possible, and sometimes gives renewed energy and feeling more “at home”. Never hesitate to ask for a change if you want to give that a try!
If you want to make your team even better, go ahead and suggest some ideas. See what your teammates think, get involved, and you will improve your own weight loss while helping others. Don’t just wait for the captains to do everything :-)
A couple other problems people encountered that can’t really be fixed easily:- Tracking difficult? Not sure what this means. Members do not need to track - only post weekly weigh-ins. If you have any problem, please ask on the team chat or by message. I’m sure it can be made clearer.
- Too many new people on the team at the beginning of each month. No one likes it when this happens. This is why it is super important to make new people feel welcome, have their posts answered, spend some time chatting with them so they do not feel like strangers and don’t just disappear. No team needs new members if no one leaves… it is in everyone’s interest to build a community where you only need a couple of new people from time to time. The first week each month is the key to keeping members, but sometimes it just isn't the right moment, or they signed up for too many things. It happens - so do your best to keep them, and don't sweat it too much if they decide to leave.
Some new ideas that might be fun:- Body measurements instead of just weight - maybe monthly?
- Full group thread on how to set goals, kind of a step-by-step
- Weekly milestones? Habit tracker record for the week, fitness goals accomplished, etc.
- Maintenance chat - there is one! Called “Goal Zone” - check it out! Link from main page.
- Full group discussion threads - check out the Idea Lounge (can be ANY kind of ideas), and the Recipe thread.
- Buddies - feel free to set this up with anyone on your team, or if you want to know who has which fitness tracker, there is a thread on the main page for that as well.

p.s. It's really cold this morning. Xavy has to put on a scarf to go bark at the squirrels.6

Check in for Tuesday
Food-logged and on target
Water-80 oz
Exercise-20 min walking videos, PT and stretching
I had a pretty good day. More carbs than I wanted and my weight is up a little. Otherwise I have been doing well so I hope that weight is off for Friday. I did food prep done so I am in a good shape for the rest of the week. It is supposed to snow later this afternoon, I am excited. We haven't had a significant snow in so long. I don't think it snowed at all last year.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday everyone!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx What cute pics of your twins! I can see you in them.
@kandi3570 I can't stop laughing! Those pictures are great! I know that it is frustrating to be bouncing around the same numbers. Hang in there and keep it going. The scale will catch up eventually.
@ljdanny Sounds like you are doing great! Great job getting up so early to get your workout in!
@goingape How sweet of your son Good idea to rest your hip and shoulder.
@minstrelofsarcasm I came off a long stretch of being co-captain not too long ago or I would help you out. Thank you for being such a great co captain and keeping our teaming going.
@1theresamcvean Thank you for being such an awesome co captain and making it easier for me to step down. We were lucky to have you as long as we did. xo. Love Xavy's scarf! What a cutie!
@annliz23 I do actually think eating a little more within reason does help sometimes. I don't know the science behind it but I am sure that there is a reason it happens.

Hi all,
@minstrelofsarcasm and @1theresamcvean - I'm really sorry I've missed the weigh in.
Tbh, am really struggling at the moment. Am back in the office after they started being quite nasty about me working at home, which is really stressing me out, and mental health issues are having a bit of a come-back. Think it's not helped as I was really hoping that I might be able to see my family for Christmas, but it's not happening - that will be almost a year since I've seen them, the longest period ever, and it's def getting me down.
I'm really lacking motivation and not feeling in the right head space at all for weight loss, so think I'm just going to try and take it easy over the holidays and come back with (hopefully) a better resolve in the New Year. You're all awesome and inspiring - and I so appreciate the support over this year xx6 -
I'm only posting right this moment to share a book recommended by the (new) ENT. Several folks on here have trouble with headaches and/or migraines. So...Book!
Heal Your Headache: The 1-2-3 uProgram for Taking Charge of Your Pain. By David Buchholz, MD
I'm only 23 pages in...and a little skeptical. But keeping an open mind...he posits that all headaches are actually migraines, but severity depends on "threshold" for triggers. So mild headache means the triggers have reached the threshold but a full on, 4-day brutal migraine, means the triggers have substantially exceeded said threshold.
To be honest, some of the things he says are symptoms (other than classic pain, aura, sensitivity) make some sense. I think he's going to be recommending a vegan diet...we'll see if I'm right.
(edited: this book was published in 2002, so some of the commentary about treatment meds is substantially out of date)
Hope everyone is well! Sorry to see Theresa step down, but wow, FANTASTIC reason (edit: the booming new businrss, not the family related stresses). Way to go, Theresa! Loving the kiddo pics & stories...
