No loss. But no gain. I’m happy with that. 😁1 -

Previous weight 184 my December 30th post

I would like to continue my weigh in on Wednesday if I can. It has been that day since July. Thank you.0 -
Today was a sad day for the US of A. Despite how triggering it was for me to gaze at this mob, I exercised, ate well, drank margaritas, and stayed within calories.3

I am reading this book where the main characters are high-powered, in-shape characters who are both successful yet trying to reconcile their pasts with a potential for a clean start for their future. Reading it, I was getting jealous of their “size zero” physique, muscles and so forth... but I need to remind myself that I am me, no one else. My current normal may be size 16. I’ll never be a size zero, and that is okay. I need to be healthier for me - and only me.southgirl94 wrote: »Jan Wk 1 - Tues, 1/5

@southgirl94 I've been attending these therapy type webinars aimed at self help, some for self care but some are also for mindfulness. They talk about being "right where you are" and we can only do what WE can do be who WE are and comparing ourselves to others isn't helpful. I find that this thinking is really helping me get myself back on track. Also, the self care webinar series that I've been attending has really reminded me that what we're doing here is self care. We must care for our bodies the same way we would need to care for our mind and even others. It's all connected and it's weird how thinking this way has really helped me to see it all differently and has really been bringing me back to a place where I can stick to the plan and work on the healthy habits I let go of this last year.Question: I'm curious. Did anyone make New Year's Resolutions?
Me personally, I don't. I did make new goals at the start of the year. I feel that goals are important but I think the New Year New Me attitude isn't overly helpful to me. It's like once the year being new wears off, I'm old again and then I let go.
I was watching a youtube video from someone trying to lose 100 lbs and she said, New Year's Resolutions don't help, if you fall off the wagon, you wait until a new month, new week, whatever to start again, but then she goes "please for the love of God, don't wait until the New Year to get back on the wagon" and it really made me think. we probably all do that. It's more helpful if we start again the next DAY if we fall off the wagon, one day won't kill us, but waiting until the next week or month really isn't going to help. I've decided to take those words and remember them when I have a bad day. Start again the next day or even the next meal. Consistency is key, but one bad day or meal won't ruin all of that. Stick with it, you're worth it.
Also, I've got a couple of goal setting worksheets if anyone is interested.

Thanks for sharing. I did make a resolution this year and it is to be kinder and learn to love myself again. I was at a point where I had come a long way and what I realized for myself in dec in reflecting on this year was that since my dad passed (July of 20219) I became depressed and lost some of myself. So I am learning to love myself again.0 -

Stressful day, work was intense and my brother was with my mom for a medical appointment. My mom is 90 and still a stubbornly independent woman who lately has no patience for anything. My brother traveled to be with her and tried to negotiate things. She is getting mad at doctors as she is needing to return often to monitor infection on her leg. She was so impatient she tried to beat a car while crossing a street. My brother tried to stop her and she said she knew what she was doing and thought the car was turning. It is hard my mom is annoyed that she can't do what she used to do but won't let us adjust things to make things easier for her. Her complaints about age are she wishes she could wash her windows ( she lives in NYC in an apartment with very high ceilings) and hang winter drapes. Telling her that someone can do that for her does not satisfy her. Her microwave is on top of the refrigerator because she refuses to clutter her counter with it. My brother brought up an extra heater and was placing it in her bedroom but although she will eventually use it in that room she needed to put it in the front closet several rooms away. Her house is immaculate! Then when I finally finished work and talked to my mom and brother and went to relax the national news was stressful.
I too don't make resolutions but I do set goals for the year. I do like to review my goals yearly and determine if what I am doing is helping me reach my goals. As my weight goal was not reached I realized I needed more help and have sought out more assistance.2 -

Mini Intro:
Just turned 42 on the 31st and am not having a good time of it with my lungs, (SUFFERING FROM COPD-ASTHMA, SLEEP APNEA AND PULMONARY HYPERTENSION) no matter how positive I try to feel it is a struggle. Determined to make 2021 year of SUCCESS. Will keep my focus on today and not worry about yesterday while hoping to succeed in reaching 375lbs by Dec 31 2021. God bless everyone in their journey this month.3 -
