2021 JANUARY Challenge

Happy New Year Everyone

I've been saying that I guess weight doesn't exactly matter at this time but staying as healthy as you can does, it seems however that increasingly it's being found that being not too heavy improves risk against many diseases including this virus so maybe it continues to be important. Additionally, for many of us, Keto helps us feel good and that can't be a disadvantage at any time.

Feel very welcome to join, we usually post our weigh Sundays and use the 'Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet' also in 'Announcements' to track weight.

You can post your weight here and also in the Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet which Stormy updates. If you want to post comments etc please use this thread rather than the Spreadsheet.

We use this thread to encourage each other and to add our weight as well.

My goal for January is to lose 3% body fat...I typically only measure once a month, but measuring weekly would be a great incentive to stay on track...so I'm in!!!

Today's online calculated measurement was 30.65% which may be a bit overstated because I think PMS has be a bit bloated, but it's as good a baseline as any!

Welcome, 2021! I am happy to start a new year. Last year was the weirdest year of my 70 years on this planet. So many things beyond my control altered my life. I think I have developed better coping skills to face problems I have no control over. I also hope and believe there will be fewer crazy things to deal with in 2021.

One of the best tools in my tool chest is this forum. I look forward to hearing your success stories, advice, inspiration, and encouragement to help us manage those things that we can control in 2021. I plan to post on this site every Sunday and visit more often. Here’s to a great 2021 for all of us!

Also here is a link to our companion spreadsheet if you want to rack your weight for 2021 there.

First check in for 2021. I lost one whole pound in the 2 days since New Years Day. Good start in the right direction. Hope to check in next week, after 7 full days, with even more pounds shed in the right direction. Trending positive in 2021! Only 362 days to keep it up. ;)

That was a much nicer weigh-in than I expected, especially after going off track a bit on Friday when I decided to indulge in making the French toast that I found myself suddenly craving intensely.

Congrats on your losses these last couple days, Jackie and Stormy!

Slow but steady so far for 2021. I’ve been avoiding processed food and trying to prepare what I eat from scratch. It has cut down on my grazing habit. One week down. Only 51 more to go.

*Goals for the month: New year, same me! And I’m ok with that because I like who I became in 2020. I like the new life habits I formed. They’re working. This is the year I finally reach my ultimate goals! I stuck to MY Holiday food menus. However, I ate more than I should have, did not exercise as much as I usually do and did not stick to my extended fasting plan for the last half of the month. I did not reach my weight goal of being in the 160’s. And I’m ok with that too. I thoroughly enjoyed the holidays with my family! I’m getting back into my walking (weather permitting) and extended fasting routines. This month will be weekly 72 hr extended fasts with remaining days of OMAD. If I feel like going longer than 72, than I will go where it takes me.

Happy New Year! Good luck with your January goals!

My measurements are actually the same or down, which makes me happy, but my weight is up because it's THAT time of the month, so I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing and see what week 2 holds because I feel like the scale is not an accurate reflection at this time and based on the input to the online calculator, the scale being up is pushing the calculation up even though the measurements are smaller. By Friday all that extra water weight should be gone, so I should be able to get something more REAL...and hopefully in the right direction.

I thought I posted week 2 last Friday, but now I can't find it...

My goal for January is to lose 3% body fat...I typically only measure once a month, but measuring weekly would be a great incentive to stay on track...so I'm in!!!

    Baseline was 30.65%
    Week 1 = 31.36%
    Week 2 = 30.65%

My measurements are actually the same or down, which makes me happy, and my weight is down about a pound, which is cool, but it's not enough of a change to show up on the calculator, which is fine...I'm starting to remember why I normally only measure once a month...the changes are miniscule from week to week.

I was very good for week 2...I was eating on plan, increased the glute weights and totally rocked them...hoping to keep it going in Week 3!
