Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

On the 15th of every month, we celebrate Non-scale Victories (NSVs). These can be anything positive that is going on in your life and health.

For me, I was very happy to shop in my own closet and have clothing that I owned fit again.9
-
None of the NSV's relating to size, clothes, fitness etc. as I put on weight over the last three months, but since I am back on MFP and UAC, my black mood has lightened, I am happy to be back in a healthy and constructive routine again. I also sleep better since I chucked all alcohol for this month, that pernicious glass of "Oh, I must have a drink" in the evening, which usually turned into two or three ...13

NSV DAY!!
I am gaining confidence as an artist,
I have better self-talk about how I look, and am gaining confidence there, too!
I am reaching out & making/connecting with friends!10 -
I'm back on track today after three days of stress. We had a powerful windstorm and were without power. I have a very difficult time staying on track with my diet during stressful times. It's something that I need to think about and try to come up with a plan. Today, we are back to normal and I'm back at tracking, planning and getting some exercise.10

Oh, how I feel like giving it up today π. Hope to come back with good news, though π - there's a "Crazy-at-home" workout calling my name. π Gotta finish work first, though π€·ββοΈ. Then the homeschooling π©βπ«. Then... will see π€¦ββοΈ9

Walked to the dentist and back this morning (annual checkup with an all clear which gives me points on my insurance) and did yoga and abs. Some shopping got hijacked by coffee with my friend but that was good. Then had the man over for supper. My anti social cat was purring in his arms within an hour so I guess he is accepted!
Umm, does acquiring a new man count as an nsv?
I definitely have good exercise related nsvs this month. Everything has just been working better, Iβm moving better on the mat and not getting stuck in certain positions, Iβm more flexible and doing more pushups, Iβm faster on my runs and Iβm gradually getting my asthma under control. I know that the daily yoga helps but also my weak areas are getting strong enough to not hold me back as much.14 -
Friday 15th January:
3 x Yes, a really good day.
Walked for about 50 minutes, got a whole lot of stuff done today, some things I had been putting off for ages.
Stayed under calories, made really nice potato and spinach curry.
Logged everything.
Off to Aix en Provence tomorrow for another spot of examining. I cannot come back on the same day after the exams, so I am staying overnight in a hotel in Marseille, not a bad thing, although I have to be careful with food.
Have a nice weekend everyone!5 -

Can't remember the last time I didn't want to get off the floor after finishing a workout π. Why she put the standing stretching first and the lying dow at the end, I wouldn't know π€·ββοΈ. The workout was not just crazy! ππͺπ
I guess this is a NSV. Which comes at the right time, since my relationship with the scale this week was truly love-hate: I retained water after the hike at the weekend, then "lost" the 2lbs, then another 2 after the surgery π² and now I'm back to the start, except I hadn't been hiking π. Well, girls' stuff. π
Enjoy your day and the weekend, Team! π6 -
Not related to NSV, but killed two birds (or rather cats) with one stone today.

Summer
@summerskier Haha, nope no checkup. My cats are indoor cats. They are walked daily on leashes, but I also have a stroller that I use from time to time. So today, "the boys" and I went 2.76 miles (40 minute walk), came home and then we walked a bit more wearing their harnesses (which I do not count as activity - it's just life). I had a photo of my watch as well, but I had a heck of a time just posting the one pic, and it was the better of the two.4 -
Another day done. I got my walk in and stayed within my calories.

YES, YES, YES
No NSVs, unless feeling like you went 10 rounds with tag team wrestlers counts as one. I woke up feeling like I wrestled all night and then was beat with a stick. <ugh> I don't know--maybe I did something right activity wise in order to feel like this. So NSV perhaps?6 -
BTW @Dory_42 Is this new man part of your New Year's resolutions? Congratulations on finding someone you like being with!5

Thanks again for all the kind comments yesterday. As Iβm in the UK, a few hours ahead of those of you in the States my post is usually one of the early ones so every evening I go back and read the rest of yesterdayβs. (And from the day before).
@MadisonMolly2017 thank you for taking the time to really think of some helpful suggestions. I like the idea of taking a photo every day. I have heard recently of the idea of taking an βawe walkβ where you deliberately look around and find something awe-inspiring in your environment. It could be the scenery β mountains, trees etc or it could be flowers/ gardens. But it can also be man-made β buildings, bridges etc. Itβs supposed to be very good for mental health to do this even just once or twice a week. Last year in the first lockdown I took quite a lot of photos on my bike rides and put them on WhatsApp for the family to see. I could make a point of doing that regularly. I tend to just ride on a few different routes and no longer always appreciate the countryside I live in. When itβs cold and wet itβs easier to just put your head down and get on with it.

@Dory_42 yes, agree with others, a new man you enjoy in your life definitely counts as an NSV. I hope he likes seals and snakes...
