    What diet plan are you following (ie. keto, calorie counting, WW)?

    45zo77krujwm.png

    Basic calorie counting is currently working for me as long as;
    • I make sure I'm regularly in a calorie deficit (calories eaten < calories burned)
    • I try to get enough protein and fit in strength training (weight lifting) to minimize muscle loss and raise my metabolism

    Maybe I'll need to revise or refine my approach when I hit a plateau but for right now the numbers on the scale are still on a slow, somewhat bumpy, but downward coast so this simple approach is working for me.

    Thanks for the snack ideas

    @mari_moulin
    So glad to see you getting those gym sessions done. I know you love Zumba so have you been doing that online at all?

    @lelbarou
    So glad your knee and foot have improved. Hopefully, you back gets better soon!

    @Tazaria87
    Well done meeting all your daily goals!

    I am confident you can reach your step goal.

    @missGYST
    You are doing all the necessary things to lose weight so it will happen. Those pounds will start to drop.

    @heatherbluebell
    I love those goals. I especially like the sleep goal. You have made me think about mine. Mine is to get 7 hours every night but that is not doable so I think I am going to change it to 5 nights. Thanks for the idea!

    @jimboden3
    Slow is good. That is my approach right now also. I like the exercise colouring you posted.

    I have a telephone dietitian’s appointment by phone in 10 minutes so I have to be quick. It is my diabetic dietitian not the eat disorder one. I loved reading everyone’s approach to their eating plan. Thanks for sharing.

    I still only got one “walk” in the hallway yesterday but I did 12 laps instead of 10. I will do one as soon as my appointment is over and one after lunch. It’s meal planning day!

    Off to make a coffee so I am fully awake for the appointment. Have a fantastic day!

    So, I took my walk, but my foot is still a little bothersome. I think I will give it a few more days. If it's still bothering me, I might go to the chiropodist. I have been offered and accepted a part-time permanent teaching position. It isn't a ton of hours, but it puts me on a higher seniority list. This means I get more consideration for other jobs I apply to from now on so it's a win-win.

    I got a super nice email from my brother and I was in shock. He is a very guarded person and we have never really been close. This was the first time in ages where he sort of lowered his guard and was sharing with me. I was really happy about this.

    I hope everyone has a great day!

    I'm still pretty sore from boxing and from lifting weights. So, I'm wondering if I won't show a loss this week because I bet I'm retaining water. We will see Saturday. Time to drink my coffee and work on the grocery list for tomorrow.

    @lindamtuck2018 - thank you! I’m really trying to get back on it. My workouts are much better, I’ve been doing IF for almost 3 weeks now, and my water intake is on point. I am still struggling to log all my food.

    My Zumba classes are still going and I can still join them but I can’t always do it as mike works in the basement where my workout space is. When he is working I can’t be down there with music in the background. So if my trainer does Zumba on weekends that’s when I tend to join in.

    "My only solace is maybe some of my gain is water retention or something, and next week I’ll see a good loss. I feel good about the changes I’m making, so I am hopeful for next week."

    I thought this was very positive. Feeling good about change is a great thing :)

    Yesterday was a sad day, after 10 months of furlough I got the call that my job has been eliminated as of 4/2. I just had my 20th anniversary on Friday. I love the travel industry and it has just been decimated but I will be ok! I met my husband there and so many wonderful friends that I will miss dearly.

    The good news is that instead of eating my feelings I pushed play on a very hard core workout and ate all my planned meals. This is progress for me.

    Go you!! Talk about turning a negative into a positive... :):)

    Feb. 4 - check in
    logging - yes
    exercise - no
    steps - 1515

    Soooo, I think I am injured and me pretending that I'm not is not helpful. I had quite a bit of pain yesterday and I decided to do nothing. No walking and no exercise of any kind. This morning it isn't much better. Trying to get a doctor's appointment. On a positive note, I seem to be losing weight. I think lowering my sugar is helping. I still eat some fruit but maybe 1-2 a day instead of 5 or 6. YEP. It was too much.

    I'm frustrated with my injury, but walking and doing exercising on an injured foot or foot that is in pain is not very helpful or smart so here is me not exercise. Meh!

    @azkunk - nice steps!
    @888Angie888 - Super loss! AWESOME!
    @Bluetail6 - Great loss! You just keep going! Great job!
    @rlaskey2 - So sorry about your job situation. I am so impressed with your reaction by doing a core workout and eating your planned meals! You are doing awesome! You have learned a great deal if you can do this even with bad news. This is amazing progress! Congratulations! I hope where one door closed another will soon open! I'm rooting for you!
    @Beautyofdreams - great sleep record. 8 hours is awesome! I would love to achieve that.
    @Megan_smartiepants1970 -WOW! Your ability to walk and exercise is so inspriational! It's just so incredible! Amazing work and progress!
    @heatherbluebell - I agree with @azkunk that if you continue the scale will reflect it. There are many variables for the scale such as water weight etc. But if you keep your meal planning etc, the scale WILL move. It sounds like you have a really positive attitude and this will take you very far. Keep your chin up. It's just a bit of a waiting game, but success will come!

    Hi hi
    Fast entrance here.
    Since the first of February I´m doing quite better. Still really stressed and everything but trying to incorporate sport in my routine
    My steps @Megan_smartiepants1970
    1 February 2021->11.350 steps
    2 February 2021->13.497 steps
    3 February 2021->16.133 steps
    4 February 2021-> 19.532 steps

    I also started to do zumba at home. Days 2 and 3 I did 30 minutes and yesterday I did 60 minutes of zumba! So proud of myself!

    I went also to the doctor yesterday and I´m going to have plenty of appointments with endocrinology, diëtist, psychologist... And today I had blood test with taking an special pill beforehand to check my cortisol levels.
    And I will have another gastroscopy, witch I am absolutely not happy with.

    I ate 5 meals the four days :p That´s huge!
    And I need to go back to study
    I love you all!

    Last night found me walking in place next to my bed before climbing in because I was short on steps. My husband always gives me weird looks when I do this haha. Today is grocery shopping day so I don't usually have much problem getting all my steps in.
