Hi was not happy today
Cw 95.1kg3 -
Congratulations to everyone who lost in January!! I'm going to take this in bits to get caught up.... Sorry in advance for the two lengthy posts .
@lindamtuck2018
"Just curious, do you use a weight trending app."? You asked me this question. I started using Happy Scale 3/4 of the way into January. I entered all of my weekly weights, from when I started on 9/1/2020. I weigh myself no more that 2X a weeks. Generally, I have another challenge going on, on that particular day. Usually Sundays or Mondays. I am able to check how I'm doing for F2F weigh in coming up, as I consider Thursdays my "real" w/i day, if you will.
"Awesome loss! You have been in the green every week of the January challenge. Can you tell the team some tips on how you have been so successful with your weight loss."? This answer is in my next post, so this bad boy isn't so long.
@Beautyofdreams
Thank you for the well wishes on continued success in balancing life with calorie goals, in your January post to me.
@lelbaru
Thank you for your continued support!! You made a positive comment about my continuing to mess around with my calorie goals, in January.
@iradi8
Thank you for your comment about my positive attitude. It is a blessing to always see the "glass half full."
@363days
I know you mentioned me in a post around 1/23? Can't find it for the life of me, sorry.

Hi all, here for Monday check in and hello to another month. I officially stuck to my plan for a whole month, sure I added bits in like blueberries, salad, low cal garlic sauce and juice (to be diluted) into water a few times but that is it. I'm proud of myself for sticking to it and also not getting any takeaways (takeout). Like I said, I'm trying to hold off on them until towards the end of April at least. Not a huge loss this week but, TOM is imminent so I have no doubt that will be affecting the scales in some capacity as there is definitely no chance that I have overeaten.
I'm excited to see where another month takes me on the weight loss front, there is possibility could even hit the 240 or under mark! I'm 0.2 until I've lost a stone since this time last year when I was at my heaviest of 259.4. I've got about another 6/6.5 stone (84-91 pounds) to go which feels like a heck of a lot but, can take each one, one by one.
This week/month is going to be a little different as I previously stated in last month's thread that I chose to go down to 5 days a week on meal prep service for this month. It's going to be experimental to see if can have the best of both worlds by re adding home cooking in. I already have listed some ideas for each meals and plan to go food shopping later today. I can still have cravings where I would like "not so good" stuff but, you know what, since this year has started I have legit felt the mindset switch happen and minimal urge to eat the "not so good stuff" and I'm still thinking in the back of my mind, if I were to, how would this fit into my daily intake allowance? instead of the mindlessness eating rut you can get into.
Have a great week everyone!6 -
I was asked how I have been so successful in my weight loss.... I hope this might give you all some additional insight into what makes me "tick."
Today (actually yesterday, I haven't gone to bed yet) is the perfect time to answer this question... So, when I planned my dinner I used the calories for chicken breast... I had chicken thighs. I was charging my smartwatch, so I didn't have it on the first half of my workout.... I had my watch set to laps like I was swimming? I went way over my calories, and macro/micro nutrients, except for sodium and fiber I think. This is after I had a 2nd helping of chicken, but before I changed it to the correct cut. Additionally, I forgot to do the math for changing it back to raw, as I didn't weigh it, before I baked it.... Did I give it a second thought? Honestly, no.
I've mentioned in the past that "this time" I've given a lot of thought to areas of life I have been quite successful at, to weight loss. I have applied those same principles. It gives me a way to "get out of my own head" as it were, and just move on, keep going on to the next thing/goal/idea/success. Make sense?
Focus: I'm very focused, so a meal mess up, workout mix up, or calorie miss count doesn't deter me. Even an out and out unplanned (it's gonna happen) meal blowout isn't going to cause me to lose focus, beat myself up, etc. Stuff happens. As simple as that.
Confident: I am absolutely confident I will reach my goal. Currently, I am 7 lbs. away from a normal weight range. On 9/1/2020, I was 32 lbs. away. I'm still going strong, imho. Please remember I am tying my weight loss to more than just weight loss. A paradigm, I mean paradigm shift for me.
Optimistic: I am relentlessly optimistic. Yep, I generally see the glass almost spilling over.... Before I know it I have succeeded at whatever it is I put my mind to, work very hard at, and never give up on. I am going on past results. It is happening now.
Please, please understand I am NOT bragging or anything close to that. I am sharing who I am. Having been raised by a single mother (father died in a tragic car accident when I was 6) who worked 3 and 4 jobs at a time to make sure we six kids were fed, clothed, and educated: hard work and a sincere belief in success is in my DNA.
Can a real change in mindset work for anyone? Yes, absolutely. For me, so far, so good. I'll keep you posted

Well, I'm pleased I am dropping weight!. I have limited my sugar intake a little I was overshooting it everyday and thouht that is not good. I still eat fruit, but not 5 pieces! LOL
I seem to have hurt my foot. I really have to get back to my knee exercises because they are not just for my knee! They strengthen and balance my whole body.
@Bluetail6
Just saw your post and loved it.

Although the drop this week was so small that it could just be a daily variable of water weight, the bottom line is I'm down nearly 4 pounds from 1/1 - 1/31 and that's something to be happy about.
Since I hit my January goal (lose at least 3 pounds), my reward is buying a TV and wall mount for the exercise room (so I have an excuse to stay in there a little longer ). I figured that would be a good reward as there would be some on sale ahead of Super Bowl Sunday.

Normally Sundays are my rest day for the week. Apparently though, my brother has been inspired to start working out again and get in shape, so he wanted to do a workout together while we were at our parents house. He did Taekwondo for years when he was younger and my parents still have a standing bag in their basement from him. It was a pretty good workout even though it was shorter. If we do it again though I need to wear gloves, my knuckles are a bit ripped up.
To answer the previous question of why I started my weight loss: This was honestly attempt number upmteen to get healthy. 6 months before this attempt I was going strong on dieting and losing weight and then Thanksgiving came and that was the end of it until April. This time, before I started I knew I had to figure out how I could make this my final attempt, final start. I'm going to make it this time. I have no doubts about that now.2 -
@Z10Rtza
Never be ashamed of your weight gain. It is really important to have compassion for ourselves. We are here to celebrate losses but also help with struggles. Ask the group if you need any help overcoming a struggle with weight loss as there is a wealth of knowledge.
@missGYST
Welcome back!
@Beautyofdreams
Congrats on the loss! I love your spirit and strength.
@azkunk
Nice loss and congrats on reaching 30 pounds lost. You have a clear picture of what you want to achieve so that is very positive.
@cabman
You got this week to turn things around. You got this!
@mszoueb
Another stellar loss, congrats! I love your statement about taking it one pound by one pound. Sometimes it gets overwhelming if we look at what we still have to lose.
@Bluetail6
You offer some great insight. Being focused, optimistic and having confidence is something we all need to strive for. I really like that you don’t let messing up a meal or day shake you up. When we let that mess with our head it can lead to days off plan. I need to be more optimistic and it is something I want to strive for. Great post!
@lelbarou
Great loss this week. Take care of that knee and foot. I know how much you love your walks so I don’t want to see you sidelined for too long.
@jimboden3
You do deserve a reward for all your hard work. I think having a reward helps keep our eye on the prize.
@Tazaria87
It must be so nice to workout with family. We all need to learn to have confidence. I think it makes a difference in how our weight loss goes.I tried to comment on everyone’s post so I apologize it I missed someone.3 -

What pushed you to start your weight loss?
I have done this so many times and given up to many times ...This time it was going to the hospital with the flu ...being admitted for 9 days with not just the flu but having pneumonia too ( I found that out after I left the hospital) and them telling me I was type 2 diabetic ...being on insulin... and all different other meds ....I said enough already and turned it around ... I am now considered pre diabetic ...I am off all meds except for high blood pressure(which I am hoping to be off that soon ) Will ask when I see my Dr. on the 10th...I am proud of myself for not giving up this time (700+ days logging in) and I am proud that I have lost 50lbs....Back in 09/2010 I lost 78lbs of course gained it all back and then some ....so my goal is to pass that number and finally get to my goal weight .... This group has helped me in more ways than one and I appreciate every single one of you so thank you2 -

Not sure why but I have been so hungry yesterday and again today. I went over calories yesterday as I had to eat something or I wouldn’t have slept from my stomach growling. I am not exercising so that wouldn’t be a reason why. My snack last night had both a protein and a carb which my dietitian recommended. Also, last week I dropped my calories so I am wondering if I should put them back to where the were. Anyone have any suggestions? I have no problem setting my calories to lose a half a pound a week.
Today is the day! I go for my emg at 2 pm. After reading everyone’s post I know I should be optimistic but I am scared. Cross your fingers that I will get some answers and can start going for walks again. 🤞1 -

What pushed you to start your weight loss?
Basically, my push was fear. I started to realize that something awful would happen if I didn’t start to lose weight. I already had diabetes and high cholesterol but I knew I was heading for a heart attack as my weight continued to increase every year. I wanted to be around to see my grandkids grow up and maybe meet some great grandchildren. I think it was a healthy fear because it gave me the push I needed.2 -

Hello All. I guess I should write more because it's a new month already. We have lots of snow where I live in Wisconsin. I am enjoying it more this year because I'm doing lots of hikes in the woods. I put these spiky things on my boots. They are like Yak Trax but with spikes. I now also have winter hiking poles. I haven't fallen with the addition of these 2 great buys. They were Christmas gifts to myself.
I have 3 adult kids. My son lives at home still, but it's okay because he doesn't bother us at all. In addition, he has been laid off most of the time during Covid. He has a contracted job now, but he doesn't get benefits with it. He has an interview on Wednesday, so I have high hopes. My youngest daughter is studying to be a nurse. She is a junior at St. Louis University. My older daughter lives in Minneapolis and is also a nurse.
I also have an elderly dog that gets lots of medication and is now wearing a cone due to chewing off a growth on her leg. She's a good girl, but I don't think she has much time left with us.
I'm trying to eat lots of fruits and veggies which isn't a problem. My problem is that I love to eat gluten based products and sugar. My February goal is to eat very few gluten products.
I hope everyone is doing well and we all have a great February.

Will do ..Do you have a step pledge that you would like to hit daily?0 -
What pushed you to start your weight loss?
Well. I would have to say that what pushed me to start my weight loss journey is health.
I found that over the last year to 6 months or so before I started my journey that I was having one health issue after another...I was having problems breathing, problems with my knee. problems with a fatty liver and on and on.
I'm getting older (I'm now 53) so health risks only increase with age. I figure if I don't do something I may be continually be sick or get something really serious that may limit me more and really inhibit my ability to get around, work, and do activities of any kind.
About three weeks after I started, my breathing started to improve. I went from walking about 15 minutes to 30 minutes and now I am at 1 hour. Sometimes I can make it to 90 minutes and I've even done 2 hours, but my knee is sometimes still an issue so I usually do one hour at a time.
I can say that if you are here for health reasons, you will find losing weight helps you and this group will provide you the support and encouragement you need to lose the weight. Please ask for help or advice if you need any. Everyone is so helpful and supportive here so please don't be shy if you are a new to the group!4 -

Started week 3, the final week of my MBFA Program (Muscle Burns Fat Advanced). Yesterday was lower body. She kicks my butt in a good way. I just had my 10 year old daughter help me do my first of the month measurements and this month I have lost 5 3/4 inches. Yay!! Progress finally!
And I am trying this on my computer and it is sooo much easier than my phone.
For those new members, my name is Rachel and I am 43. I am a married mom of two kids, one very old dog and two naughty kitties. I live in Massachusetts. I love the beach and every season but winter because I hate the cold. I have been on furlough for the last 10 month due to covid so I help my kiddos with school the days they are home.
Last year I committed to working out more and succeeded but had not succeeded on the weight loss and added some more lbs during covid.
My weight has gone up and down my whole life. I have never been what doctors would say is a healthy weight but I have at times been more comfortable with my weight. 20 lbs crept back on over the last 3 years slowly bringing me to my highest weight with the exception of being pregnant.
I have been here for a few months and really just bounce back and forth within a few pounds. I do keep coming back because I refuse to give up on myself and I enjoy reading about other team members journeys and the support.
I seem to finally have gotten my act together and had 3 losses in a row, let's see what this week brings. My current motivation is vacation in two weeks!3 -
2/01
All food logged.
Under calorie budget. Ate back all the exercise calories because cold makes me hungry.
Strength trained for 45 minutes at moderate intensity.
Drank 120 oz. water.
Please excuse me from the step challenge until Feb.9.
Motivation for losing weight: In 2019, my sister and brother-in-law took me to the state fair and I could barely walk around and knew that they didn't get to see everything they wanted to see. In 2020, I was very unhappy. I sat down and made a list of what I could and could not control. Decided that I could control my weight and took steps to improve it. Ten months into this endeavor and I have lost over 69 pounds with 20(maybe more?) left to go.4
