Yes x3
Today's exercise was walking and exercises.
I started back up with the UAC on Feb 20 and so far I'm down 4 pounds! Just 4 more away from getting back to maintenance (though I'm sure these 4 will go more slowly). It's amazing the difference that tracking and accountability has made.
I also began challenging myself to two daily planks, even on days I don't do bodyweight exercises. I started a few weeks ago at 50/40 seconds for the 1st and 2nd round with a break in between. I'm now up to 60/50 seconds.12 -

@RangerRickL , your pictureless message forced us to focus on the content more 😉. So might not be a bug, but a feature 🤔.
Also, thank you for giving me the credit for the colours 💐, but I don't do much: it's my phone 😉. I just have to click my way through the smileys 😄. Admitedly writing proper posts on a mobile ☎️ is a pain, but it's... handy📱!
As for today, I did a crazy HIIT🔥 (she did not promise 600 cal in 45 min in vain! 🤭) to have less than 100 cal left for the day. 🤷♀️I have to drink more and eat less between meals! 😔Might just try IFing until Erster.
Love to see @BMcC9 back here 🙋♀️, the Beauty of Sommer (nothing wrong with 2 posts, @SummerSkier)!
I need to get back to reading, too! A 📚 club might be the push I need! 💐10 -

@rangerrickl Be fun to see you if you are in the area. Laughed with you "Can't get her out of my head"! Very clever!2 -

20 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minute core/upper body workout.
The hard part...yes! I stayed within my calorie budget for the day.

Hope to be able to keep this up. I just finished 7 weeks of PT following a partial knee replacement and am feeling better than I have in a couple years. Looking forward to Spring and plenty of horseback riding and hiking!9 -
Exercise 20 + minutes? Yes - 80 minutes (600 cals) on the stationary bike "commuting home from work" (aka biking between sign-off-work time and supper time) .. while watching Netflix Tiny House Nation ,,, hoping for some innovative compact storage ideas to show up from time to time.
Logged everything? Yes
Under goal? Yes (thanks to exercise calories .... didn't eat ALLL of them) and weight still down the common daily smidge this morning8 -

lesdarts180 wrote: »@SModa61 I read your post yesterday with interest; I also have a problem with maintenance calories/exercise.
I’m lighter than I need to be – by about 1.5 kg (4 lbs) – but I really struggle with the obvious answers ie eat more and/or exercise less. In normal times I eat out every couple of weeks and go on holiday several times a year (I’m retired). But the Covid restrictions have put an end to all that eating out. So no little ups and downs.
@lesdarts180 Sorry you share this "problem", but also glad to know that it's not just me. Thank you for sharing. How are you setting your daily "calorie budget"? Anything to share?
Hi Ladies... Just a few comments. In maintenance you have to really think longer term than day to day or even week to week sometimes.
@lesdarts180 you are going thru a REALLY stressful time. That has to be raising your activity (cals out) even if you are not working out more specifically. I am the same way and tend to lose weight when there is a huge stressor in my life. As long as it's not dangerously low or continuing to drop too much I would just try to ride it out. Add 100 cals here or there in a snack or larger serving.
@SModa61 you are only in the first months of working to maintain. It can take almost a year to dial in and guess what, then you might have to adjust anyway. LOL. What I saw when I first started maintenance in 2017 was that even though I was increasing cals my body was still programmed in the losing mode. It took almost 4 months before it stabilized out. Just keep on doing what you are with the small adds.
I think both of you all are doing wonderfully and the mere fact that you are keeping such a SHARP EYE on things is probably the most important thing to your success long term.8 -
@SummerSkier
Thank you for your kind message and for taking the time to respond to our posts.
I agree with you about taking a longer view, and indeed I try to do that. The challenges in this group do have the effect of focusing on each day which is not necessarily the best way to go.
I have been maintaining for nearly 2 years this time (and did it successfully for several years before I retired and lost my way for a while) and my usual way of eating is to average out over several weeks – taking into account holidays and other events.
I guess there are at least 2 factors at play here: the pandemic has restricted the eating out opportunities; my own state of mind is affected by my son’s illness and made worse by the lockdown and the constant horrible news of illness and death.
I am slightly under my best weight but I’m not officially underweight so I shall carry on, and know that when our lockdown ends I will be able to get out more and hopefully my mental health will be easier to deal with.

@dewit Thanks for the insight about the content vs. the image.
I love using images. If I use them correctly, they should enhance the message. If not, the images attract the eye of visual oriented people. I just checked the percentage of visual learners is 65% and auditory is 30%, which leaves a small 5% for tactile learners. I don't know that concept translates to image plus text.
Frankly, I am a tactile learner who must write the words to get the concepts to be internalized.2 -

Dear @Beautyofdreams,
I looped back to read recent posts & saw yours. I’m so sorry to hear of your severe reaction & that you were released.
I had longterm CKD 2003-2007 & received a transplant 3-1/3 years ago. I will be thinking of you.
