Today was that busy day and finally planting my but on the couch. Planning paid off. it went 94% to plan and just adjusted the other 5%. Somehow ended up solidly under for the day. Anyhow, yes x 3 for today.6

Forgot to check in yesterday, but 3 x yes for 5/7 and 5/8.
I decided to let MFP adjust my calories when I changed my goal to maintenance and was pleasantly surprised that it gave me 400 more per day! I double checked that with several online calculators and all seem to agree. I guess that just goes to show how skewed my sense of a realistic calorie goal is, after a lifetime of dieting.10 -

The scale isn’t moving, which is infuriating, but my clothes seem bigger so I guess something is happening. Also my stomach is still covered in a soft squishy layer of cookies past, but I’m starting to see lines form like there’s actually muscle growing under it all! Hopefully the scale will get itself together and start moving soon. I blame stress.
Probably not tomorrow. Tomorrow is probably going to be my first pass day. It’s Mother’s Day and I will eat pie.
Speaking of the kiddo, I’m gonna get whiny for a moment and vent. Apologies in advance and feel free to just skip this part. Since we moved from remote/hybrid instruction to 5 days a week in school, the teacher he started the year with is gone, and the pediatrician that originally diagnosed him with ADHD is gone - we are conducting an experiment per his new doc where we take him off his Ritalin for a few days and then put him back on since we need to set a new base line for exactly how much it’s helping him, if he needs a higher dose, etc. So… it’s fun here this weekend and happy early Mothers Day me? Lol. 🤦🏻♀️ We’re also going to go see a Developmental Pediatrician because his regular Pediatrician thinks he’s got Anxiety and ODD coexisting with the ADHD (school psychologist agrees, and I def agree on the anxiety piece). Thankfully his current doc and the school psychologist agree he’s not on the spectrum, like his first doc had casually thrown out there as a possibility when making blanket statements about “boys like him”, so that was a lovely relief to hear. Who knew Kindergarten would be so much fun?! Yesterday kiddo asked the Magic 8 ball if I was going to be grumpy again today, it said yes. It wasn’t wrong. Hahahahaha. I am overwhelmed and would like a nap. ☹️ #endrant

Tonight we met some friends for dinner at an Italian owned pizzeria with exceptional Napoletano style pizza. Normally my partner and I split the pizza but tonight I ate only 1/3 and he ate the rest. I predetermined that this was the only way to stay within my calories. When we got home we took a walk around the neighborhood which helped burn a few more calories thus ensuring I stayed within my calorie requirements. Dining out is a challenge that requires strategies to stay within calories limits.5 -
Pass day for me. My son’s birthday - I still managed to get in 30 minutes of Pilates abs a 45 minute dog walk but there was brunching, cake and take out. I didn’t go too far over calories but definitely a pass day and I definitely enjoyed it!

@mshawski great news on the clothes feeling bigger and sorry to hear about all the stress with your son’s diagnosis and meds. Uncertainty is so hard I find. I hope you get some time to chill on Mother’s Day and also enjoy the fruits of your labour, I’m sure that for all the ups and downs you have one very lovely kid. I actually find Mothers Day quite hard, I think it’s all the hype and the photos of everyone with their perfect seeming day and presents and cards. In my heart of hearts, I don’t want my kids to feel overly grateful to me (yet!) just loved.5
