Well, THAT was an interesting month!

Results for five Wednesday weigh-ins were +1.2, -0.4, +0.4, -3.2 and + 5.2. So much for “in like a lamb” - this was more “in like a lion; out like the Hindenburg”.

I was taking partial credit for the -3.2, but I also knew it followed two mornings of clearing brush. Given that, it was likely more water than fat that disappeared. This week? Not sure how it might have turned out, but a Tuesday full of bad decisions (and two bagels as a snack is not a good decision, just for one example) doesn’t make for a good result on Wednesday.

Well, April has to be better, right, Bueller? Bueller?

Well, Wednesday was our new meeting. Two of our crew showed up, doubling their "normal" attendance. Was down 0.6# officially. Guess it's "rinse and repeat".

My new meeting was Thurs. One from my Monday MTG was there, two more are planning to come but have medical issues, and 1 from my old Thurs group (pre move). Lots of other folks from I don't know where. It was fine, but time will tell

Up 1.2 at weigh-in at WW this morning. Way too much Sunday, and, tonight we're having our youngest her with 1 or 2 of his boys, plus a couple of "hanger-on's" I'll do ok with dinner, but brownies and ice cream..........
    We'll see tomorrow AM. ;)

I'm down 0.8 pounds this week. I am starting to take off the "Passover weight." It's now time to get myself refocused, which has started. Key (as always) is to cut out the weekday alcohol, which I've already started. Next will be to cut out the random evening post-dinner totally-unnecessary snacking. After that, I just need to stick to my usual plan.

Well, the fire is extinguished on the Hindenburg. After going up 5.2 pounds last week, thus week in down 5.4 pounds, and so currently at my lowest weight since September 2015. No magic; just some discipline and the loss of the bad decisions that triggered the prior gain.

I'm up 5.8#. Yes, some of it is the salty ham I ate all week, but definitely not all. Getting on the scale Fri felt like a real KITA. I didn't post right away because I've been processing. Also, didn't want to claim to be turning it around without some proof. So, as of this Monday morning, I have had 4 days of accurate tracking, 3 blue dots, increased moving, and way less urges to go off program. My biggest struggle has been with my appetite which had gotten used to regular feedings 🤦🏼‍♀️. But I'm making progress. I've actually felt real hunger in the last few days 😂

So, this week's plan is to continue with the tracking, get blue dots (when I'm at the top of points for a day, I'm just done eating, kitchen closed!). And I've meal planned the week. Going to the store to fill in the gaps, ie. buy veggies. I have some good options in the frig, including refrigerator oats that I plan to eat for Bfast and "snacks" when I'm truly hungry. The scale is already down 3#s but that's just a little win, since I know the real struggle will be the last few #s and then the next one! It's a line I haven't crossed in years! Last time I was even close was Aug of 2018😳

So, here goes the continuation of the first week OP in 2 months!

@linmueller Tough and frustrating to give up that decade of progress, I’m sure. While this week may have had a precipitating event, I also wondered in looking back at your threads whether there was some semblance of a “Punta Cana hangover” here. It seems on the surface like there have been more challenges for you since then.

I was going to tell you that you’ve got the knowledge to do this, but one thing I’ve reflected on recently is the distinction between knowledge and execution. For most of my journey from 180# to 267# I was telling myself “Not a problem; you’ve got the tools to handle this.” What I finally concluded was that having the tools in your toolbox doesn’t make you a carpenter; it’s having the ability and the will to use them that makes the difference.

So I won’t say “you’ve got this!” or “you know how to handle this!” Instead, I’ll say “Go forth and execute.”

Yes Charlie, it is absolutely related to PC. Call it a vaca hangover, loss of momentum, dropping good habits, it is what it is! And I need to fix it. I want those 10#s back off, and I want goal!

I've always felt like being OP was like a switch that flipped and few struggles to do what I know to do followed. Sometimes it's that simple, and sometimes it's a fight to resist behavior that's detrimental to my goal, and if I tough it out long enough, it's relatively easy. I've had 5 stellar days in a row, and minimal struggles with myself today, so I'm hopeful. Losing weight is not for the weak. So, this is my, going forth and executing! Thanks!!!

I'm back on track, 8 days in a row is making me very optimistic! Down #6 Gained almost that, partly due to lots of ham the week before, but in the right direction. Still 4#s to lose to get back to pre vaca, but moving in the right direction!

My birthday is Sunday, so will need a plan. I think it will include a few miles hiking in the woods!

Well, I’ve lost weight for three of the past four weeks, and my weight right now is -0.6 pounds below what it was four weeks ago. I have one more weigh-in this month to get my 2 pounds a month objective. That’s the progress report. The challenge is that the current trend represents an average weekly loss of -0.15 pounds a week. At that rate, it would be 215 weeks to get back to my goal of 180 pounds. That’s about July 1st of 2025.

Of course, my assumption is that -0.15 is not my new normal rate of loss. There’s a gain of 5.2 and a loss of 5.4 in that four weeks, so it’s an odd time. We'll see what this week brings, but I’ve identified nuts (almonds and cashews rather than hex or castle) as one of those things I currently don’t manage well and therefore need to keep out of the house. What’s surprising (and a little rewarding) is that I’m fairly blasé about the current situation. I’m taking it seriously, but I’m not upset about what it means long term and I’m making small deliberate changes rather than a drastic swing.

    Below are the numbers.

    05/06/20 wk 1 to 06/24 wk 7 lose 10.6

Decent week. Within points, but up 1.2 on Friday. Today, Sat, I'm 2#s lower than that. Hoping it continues to trend down.

Birthday did include a hike, so that was helpful. If nothing else, it got me out of the cottage for a while.

I've been eating well, establishing some new habits, BUT still need to move more! Oh, and diet coke is finally under control!

Well, it’s been a year. Shall we continue, or start anew? Thoughts?
Officially (WW) I’ve lost 8.0 pounds. At Home lost 10.8. The WW is now Wednesday’s meeting, so a bit off, as I’m down 1.6 since Wednesday, so a 9.6 loss? Still NOT the 10#.
Getting more serious, as I’m seeing goal nearby (220# at WW).

Up 0.8 this week for 213.0. That puts me down 5 pounds from the end of March, down 1.8 from the end of February, down 6 from the end of January, and down 9 from the end of 2020. That says (to me, and what I need to hear) is that I’ve kept up an average loss of two pounds per month or more in 2021. Glass half full, baby . . .

I’m struggling a bit at 26 daily points. It’s not that I can’t eat at that level, but rather that perhaps there's some psychological fear of being constrained by my number of points. I don’t feel I’m playing games with my points, but I don’t think I’m being conservative in my tracking. If I’m selecting the lower point option to track most of the time, I’ll be undercounting points more often than if I’m more conservative. I’m not running out of weekly points, so perhaps the theme for May should be more conservative tracking, a willingness to use more/most/all of my weekly points, and STOP thinking about those pesky blue dots.

On the NSV side, I replaced my size 40 khakis with waist 38 (a three, whoopee!) and my XL shirts with L, and both fit fine - not tight at all.

I’m inclined to keep it going. Steve’s task force approach is good for daily accountability, but the weekly and ten pound view offers me a bit more context for introspection about what might be driving my results. I need a week or more for that rather than a day. Also, I’ve honestly got another year or more of losing ahead to get to where I want to be.

Onward and downward, week by week for me.

I've been doing well this week. 🔵 6 days. Sun was higher due to dinner being behind schedule resulting in hunger and grazing. I would have done things differently if I'd known how it would play out but 🤷🏼‍♀️. In the end I tracked accurately and was down to 1 WP. Worked to decrease portions and carry some WPs over. First time I've tracked when so deep into WPs. Usually decide I can't really remember or be accurate enough so I don't even try. I'll take this for the win!

Activity has been up, and I plan to continue that, along with smaller portions and 🔵s!

Thanks, Lin. This was one of those “where did that come from?” losses. My objective now is to keep from gaining this week. I should be “okay” for this week, but m traveling to a niece’s graduation 5/21-5/5/24. There will be challenges . . .
