~~ June Week Three ~~
Welcome to our third week of our group challenge! Last week, as a team, we lost almost 8lbs!
As for me:
I've been doing well! My daily weigh-in is looking promising for my official post this Thursday, and I'm honestly excited to see if my progress will continue as it has been. Also, I hit my 900th spin class tomorrow with one of the only instructors who has been there as long as I have. It should be a fun class.~ Walkin' On Sunshine ~
Last week, our nine steppers trekked over 663,000 steps! On average, that's almost 74,000 steps per person!
Over 10k Steps Per Day:
@annliz23 - 119,259 total | 17,037 average - Highest Single Day Step Count!
@IDebraK - 108,604 total | 15,515 average
@sandielewis2001 - 78,275 total | 11,182 average
@kandi3570 - 71,262 total | 10,180 average
Over 5k Steps Per Day:
@lennoncpa - 64,036 total | 9,148 average
@ljdanny - 63,569 total | 9,081 average - Most Consistent!
@melaniedscott - 53,119 total | 7,588 average
@pacsnc6 - 52,606 total | 7,515 average
@dbrinkmeyer - 52,340 total | 7,477 average
Never underestimate the power of a good walk. Putting one foot in front of the other is how we make progress in all aspects of life, whether that be literal movement or figurative. One step may not make a difference, but many steps can add up to something truly wonderful.6 -

@gottagetthisdown - You have not been kicked! One missed weigh-in is nothing to fret. Two missed weigh-ins in a row, however... that's where it gets dicey. Feel free to post on Friday, we love having you here with us.
And, for the record, if anyone is ever removed from the group for inactivity, they can rejoin without an issue at any time. We aren't super strict about kicking people out.2 -
Tomorrow I am having an endoscopy and a colonoscopy, don't you wish you were me? So needless to say today I am starving, I haven't eating since breakfast but I was allowed broth at lunch. I have to start drinking some awful stuff around 5 so it's going to be a great night. Hopefully I lose a few pounds. I dont know how people do fasting, I'm seeing stars right now. Hopefully I get a few answers.3

I hope your procedure goes well. My husband had his alien abduction last fall. We had a lot of time to prep for it and switched to a low residue menu for about 5 days. He could have clear broth & juice, jello (no red or purple) and something else that I don't remember the day before and really pushed the fluids. He was hungry by the end of the day but ok. I think the exellent hydration helped...We expected then to make him drink one of the flavors of Satan (magnisium citrate) but instead he had to mix 14 doses of Miralax in 64 ounces of gatorade (no red or purple). Half in the evening and half three hours before. He said it wasn't was bad as he expected. As soon as he was awake & coherent, he wanted McD's chicken nuggets, though...and that was traumatising....His boss had one a couple of months later and acted like it was a near death experience. My former boss had one once a year (high risk of...something) and didn't ever seem to think it was a big deal. But she didn't make a big deal of anything. I think it really depends on prep and brain space.
I hope you get answers.0 -

Thanks for the well wishes. I did have a colonoscopy years ago. They think I'm at risk because of my dad. I told them today I'm not doing this again, the dr laughed and told me yes I am. Last time I had to drink some prescription meds, this time I did the miralax and other gross drink. I never finished drinking any of it. I almost threw up both times and the chicken broth made it worse. My husband wanted the leftover container for cooking but I threw it in the trash so I dont have to look at it. I also had an endoscopy so they put me on meds. He wants me to try the low fodmap diet. I came home and was starving, now I'm just too tired to do anything and it's a nice day so that's a bummer.1
-
@ljdanny My last colonoscopy was about 6 years ago - age 62. I also told the doctor I wouldn't do it again and he laughed. Since I'll be 72 when I'm due for the next one I just might pull it off. I'm pretty sure the cutoff is age 72. I had an endoscopy last year before I started the chemo treatments to rule out cancer in my stomach. Not fun in any way! Don't want to do that again either. Both in one day sounds like torture.1

I feel for you. I have them every year or two because I have ulcerative colitis. I hate it too. Hugs to you, Tracy.0 -
I popped on here midweek to thank you all. Just being back in the group is helping. I did what I said I would do and looked back at my diaries. I set myself up for a menu this week from weeks ago when I was losing well and it’s working.4

Typical weigh in day Saturday. I’ll be in Myrtle beach. I’ll go back to Saturday next week.

I’m back to the plateau at 177. I’ve ate pretty well this week when I was home. I had a party yesterday and 2 meals that I ate out. With no way to accurately count calories. Hopefully I’m not stuck for another 6 months. 🤷♀️ But I’m going to try my best after vacation.4 -

Weigh In Day: Thursdays
PW (Previous Weight): 167.6 (June 10th)

Is it as big of a loss as last week? No. But progress is progress, no matter how small.
Food:
I've been doing pretty well over the past week. Until yesterday. Yesterday was very clearly self sabotage, snacking on whatever I could get my hands on, reaching for seconds when I wasn't hungry, just bored. And despite recognizing these behaviors for what they were, I didn't stop myself.
Exercise:
And maybe my poor eating habits from yesterday could be attributed to my body's hesitancy to recover properly. I got very little sleep over the weekend, without compensating throughout the week, and without reducing my exercise frequency. This general exhaustion is not doing great things for my body, so I'll be taking a nap during lunch today, do a cryotherapy session, attempt to get to bed early tonight, and maybe even cancel my workout for Saturday morning, depending on how I am feeling. Burning out is not on my to-do list this summer.
On a brighter note, I'm feeling strong. I'm looking strong. I've noticed, people have noticed, and I appreciate the validation.
Mindset:
As per usual, I'm partially good, partially bad, entirely exhausted. I wrote a whole blog post yesterday, so I'm not feeling the need to absolutely unload all of my mindset into this message.3 -

I know my loss is only because I had to drink miralax for a day but I will take it. I did find my low fodmap book and another book I had about eating with ibs. Now I just have to start reading them. They let me out of work early today so I am going to try and be productive, my granddaughter was in the middle of nap time so I do have to go back to pick her up. That's only downside of getting to leave early.2

This again is the month of maintenance, I have been working a lot with the new job so I haven’t been tracking as much as I would like, but I have packed a lunch every day this far. My goals for the rest of the month/July are to try and run on my off days, just need to adjust to the new routine2 -

I found out today my dog has liver disease and could die from it soon. It’s crazy how it got real bad this quick. She won’t eat and vomits if she does eat. She lays around and doesn’t move much at all. It’s sad. She is a six year old labradoodle.6

So sorry to hear that. I love my fur and feathered babies. It's so hard when they're sick, and you can't "fix" them. I lost my Akita to renal failure caused by an enlarged heart. Big dog with big dog problems.
I currently have two dogs that are 15 years old. I know nature says they can't live forever, but I sure will hate when that day comes.
Sending you good vibes and happy thoughts.3
