Hi Friends,
I have an idea for how we can continue to sustain the incredibly supportive and effective UAC with the retirement of the amazing @RangerRickL.
No one can replace Rick.
But I’m wondering if we divide up what he so ably did among some of the rest of us, we might make a stab at it!
I am willing to take on being the Organizer because I believe UAC is a really rare group in MFP. Over the past 3 years+, it has been invaluably helpful to me & to so many others. It would be very sad for MFP & us to no longer have this resource.
I would like to propose the following: DIVIDE & CONQUER! Or as my Dad always says, “Many hands make light work!”
A. BACKBONE BOSS (1 person)
Time commitment: once a month for X hours (need to check with Rick/Jessica)
Skills: responsible, hits deadlines
willing to learn how to create group/discussions (it’s easy) if you don’t already
1. Set-up Monthly Group of Daily
Discussions for the Month & copy the standard 3 questions in into the 1st post
Commitment by the 20th day of the month before.
2. Set-up the 4 monthlong groups at top
3. Other tasks Jessica did
B-1 CONTENT CREATOR CADRE
(7 people)
I’d like to propose that 7 of us, each taking one day of the week, create a meaningful & inspirational post (the 2nd post each day)
2nd Daily Post:
Create 2nd post with an encouraging message & a conversation starter and/or an interesting /informative link.
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
Time Commitment: 1 hour+ per week
Skills: committed to fostering the growth, skills, knowledge, and personal effectiveness of UAC Members
B-2 NSV Day CONTENT Creator
Time Commitment: 1 hour+ per month
Skills: committed to fostering the growth, skills, knowledge, and personal effectiveness of UAC Members, especially in shifting our focus more broadly than the scale!
C. GRAPHICS GURU(S)
Time Commitment: ? This could be divided up if needed
Skills: loves to look for that perfect graphic: inspirational, funny, etc!
1. Find & add fun graphics to 2nd post each day to make it even more fun & appealing
2. Create gorgeous posts for the Winner’s Circle & Champions posts for the month! Give them to Winner’s WIZARD
D. WINNERS (& Champions) Circle WIZARD
Time Commitment: 2 hrs over last 3 days of month & first day of next month?
Skills: loves to celebrate our members, can hit a deadline
1. Ask for members to state whether they will be in Winner’s Circle the last 3 days of the month
2. Ask for members to state if they are in Champions Circle on the last day of the month
3. Create Celebratory posts for each group, using info in post near end of month
4. Post the Winner’s Post in the last day of the month & the first of the new month & in the MFP Monthly Recruiting Discussion in the Challenges strand
6. Post the Champions Post in the 2nd day of the next month
E. CHEERLEADING SQUAD
Time Commitment: 1 hour per week
Skills: deep caring, positive personality
(7 people)
Commits to reading all posts on one day per week - adding encouraging, tips, suggestions, insight on a number of them.
Track that you get to a variety of posters over your day(s) that month.
OF COURSE we want everyone commenting, TOO!!

@MadisonMolly2017 - I sent a message to @RangerRickL volunteering myself in case nobody else offered. So count me in, whatever the future looks like! I am very happy to take one of these roles in a team effort. I think the only one not suitable for me is the graphics. I can find graphics but am not a creator of graphics.3

yes to all questions. Since I was in a hurry, I did not read yesterday's post. I'm really thankful for the existence of this group and I appreciate all the hard work you and Jessica have done. Thank you @RangerRickL for everything.
I will read your post @MadisonMolly2017 properly and see what I can do to help. After seeing your post I realized more than ever how much work Rick had to do to keep the group going, thanks again {{hogs}}.

I'm wondering where is Sherri 🤔@SModa61? Does anyone know if everything OK with her?
It would be so great if we could keep UAC running... I hope so much that Maddie's plan will work...1 -

Hi Maddie, An awesome idea! But whatever route this group goes in, I will support it.
I work 45+ hours/week depending on the week and soon I will be back in the office adding 2.5 hours to my day for travel & shower/hair styling/make up time. (I am sssooo going to miss working from home...). Therefore I would love to do the above but Sunday or Monday would be my best days as it will give me the week end to prepare/do some research etc. I love to support fellow MFP pals but honestly, a lot of days I don't have the time to read through everyone's posts. The weekends are better for me.

Hi @Jana_2020 !!
Thank you so much for agreeing to do a part of the puzzle, especially with your very busy schedule!! I think if most of us do a part, we will be successful!
Content Creator - @Jana_2020
Sunday or Monday
Do you have a preference between these two days? Please let me know if you do!
THANK YOU!!

@MadisonMolly2017
I had already sent a message to @RangerRickL yesterday, and volunteered to help out. I can be the "Backbone" person. I've spoken on the phone today with Rick and also with Jessica and know how to get the discussion threads set up for future months.
A. BACKBONE BOSS (1 person)

2. Set-up the 4 monthlong groups at top
3. Other tasks Jessica did
I can also step in where needed as a Cheerleader and even as a Content Creator (although, like others have mentioned, this area is not my strong suit). But I agree that these tasks would be best shared by a few people so that the entire responsibility doesn't fall on one person.3 -
@MadisonMolly2017 I posted in yesterday's thread that I was considering volunteering to take over but wanted to think on it so I'm willing to help but I think what you're proposing might be too complicated since we don't always have the same people each month.

I think its a wonderful idea I am not to creative with graphics etc I can hardly get a pic to load but will try to be a backup cheerleader during the week. It maybe more difficult when and if I return to the office full time but I can certainly offer support that is so valuable others need.4

Exercise – yes, longer bike ride plus cardio work
Tracking – yes
Calories – yes – already saving some up for Sunday with family.
I am so impressed with all the volunteers stepping up. I feel as though I should be coming forward – after all, I am retired so no work commitments – but I do take a lot of holidays which would make it difficult. But I will do my best to encourage and support everyone.

@MadisonMolly2017 @Mrs-Hoffer @LazyBlondeChef Good morning i woke up this morning feeling really deflated at the thought of uac coming to an end. Wat @RangerRickL and Jessica have done here is an absolute service to others and no words can describe how grateful we all are for the work they hve done! So long story short i am so keen for Uac to continue on in the future and happy to help however u guys need. I was so relieved to come on here this morning to see so many others feel the same Xox3

June 22 - Yes all the way

✅ - Calories within budget
✅ - Tracked every detail I consumed
1/3 Pass Days Used (19th)
Personal Challenges Met: 21/22 days (4th)
✅ - Net Carbs 30g or less (14g)
✅ - Protein 180g or more (196g)

@MadisonMolly2017 My preference would be Mondays.1
-
I think in order or preference I would choose the following:
- Daily or NSV Content Creator (either one seems great, any day of week is fine).
- Monthly Recuiter
- Winners/Champions Circle
2 -
Exercise YES
Calories - under 1,300 YES
Tracked all YES4 -
Did spin medicine ball slams and some unaccounted for housework. Tracked logged and stayed under.
So nice to see so many folks willing to take on a piece of this monthly challenge to keep it going thanks Rick and Jessica for instilling determination in this group!4 -

Exersized-?yes
Caleries?-yes
Logged?-yes4 -
Yay! Count me in @MadisonMolly2017. I’ll read through the list again and get back with you.
@Mrs_Hoffer - thank you for offering to be the Backbone Boss! You’ll be awesome.
I’ve also been missing @SModa61 . Hope you’re ok!
2 -
You are all so awesome!
I’m entering what folks indicate they might be willing to do on one firm & will post it later this evening or in the morning.
I, too, am willing to help with any “holes” we might end up with.
Also, if Rick agrees to this approach, I think we should figure it will take a month or two to figure out what works best - likely some tweaks will be needed
Thank you for being an AWESOME Team who know when something is worth saving!!
Your Friend,
🌸Maddie
PS @SModa61 has logged on 2, 4, 5, & 7 days ago. I believe she is dealing with a real estate situation.3 -

Hi @LazyBlondeChef
I’m sorry I didn’t catch your post yesterday. As I mentioned, just an idea & wasn’t sure if anything was happening yet.
Happy for whatever is the most workable solution!!
We still have a week or so to figure out something that works for everyone!
Best,
🌸Maddie
PS I am not “tied” to my suggestion; I just want the group to continue!!!

Hey all, yes I am alive. Nice of you all to care and reach out. I do apologize for my absence and I won't bore you with details as I know that everyone has lots going on in their lives as well, and yes @MadisonMolly2017 one of the components is real estate somewhat similar to RRL.
I am happy to help support the continuation of the UAC. My strengths are data. I would be happy to handle the winner's circle and champions lists and other data associated cheer leading. I even had had an extensive post ready for June 14th using everyone's data for a mid-month data and I think that concept might be a nice addition in the group. I am also more than will to handle the "advertising" type posts for the next month out in the challenges section.
As for how to divide up the daily posts, there are some posts that are day of the month specific. The last few days of the month address reporting in for the winner's circle. The first 5 days of the month are specific to starting the month off for the members and the 15th (most months) is the mid month NSV post. What if under the group's "announcements" there was a sign up list for the days of the coming month. The preset topics can already be filled in with whomever is responsible, and then the remaining days filled in with the content volunteers. So for July it might look like this:
July 1 - posting of Winner's Circle results (Sherri)
July 2 - Welcome of new members and introduce them to the announcements
July 3 - post Champion List (Sherri)
July 4 - subject is the importance of tracking
July 5 - subject is cannot achieve goals with exercise alone
July 6
July 7
July 8
July 9
July 10
July 11
July 12
July 13
July 14
July 15 - NSV topic
July 16 (could add a mid-month shout out check-in using data?) i am willing to do
July 17
July 18
July 19
July 20
July 21
July 22
July 23
July 24
July 25
July 26
July 27
July 28
July 29 - start asking for winner's circle report (Sherri)
July 30 - repeat (Sherri)
July 31 - repeat (Sherri)
**** Note that I referenced my word doc of notes from my phone call with RRL for when I helped out for the end of May and first half of June.
As for graphics, I am terrible at the graphics stuff, but it really was not bad finding and including on with the topic. I am not sure how to coordinate the content creator putting up their post and then someone else posting graphics. I would assume the two should be coordinated? But I am open to new concepts.
As for today's report in, 3 yeses today for me.
Thanks for the shout outs @biketheworld @madisonmolly2017 @winner_in_Life They helped me wake back up!5 -
