C✔️ T✔️ E✔️
PASSES USED: 1/3 (12Aug)
✔️Net carbs <25%? Yes. 23%
✔️Protein >100g? Yes. 116g.
✔️Yoga. Yes.
❌ Kettlebell.
❌ 12k steps.
I worked both jobs today (I don't usually do that on Mondays).
What foods do you find difficult? Mostly anything chocolate. Especially ice cream.
And, do you have any methods that you find help you to deal better with them? I walk 11 miles on Sundays into town and back on the bike path in order to have a pint of Rebel's keto chocolate ice cream. And YES, I eat the whole thing while I'm walking back home! Lol. (I bring my debit card and a spoon on my walk!) My walk earns me around 1000 calories, and my ice cream (pint) is 600 calories. It's the ONLY time that I ever eat back my exercise calories!
Hubby loves his sweets and has something every evening. I've asked him (often) to hide sweets from my sight (which he does!) but unlike @jamcnewman , I don't try to find them. As long as it's out of sight, then I seem to have enough "willpower" to leave it be. I just can't walk past something sweet multiple times a day.... I will usually end up giving in.
Lately, I've been trying to eat more fruit when I want something sweet.... and it's working.9 -
Yes, yes and yes
Walking AM and PM. Mini wt and stretching workout.
I may allow dangerous foods into the house for a meal etc but I don't keep them. I am similar to @jamcnewman in that I throw them in the trash and then put dish soap on them. It drives my husband crazy but it works for me.8 -

My dangerous food is a tie between ice cream and pizza. Followed by SEE food. I did not misspell that. S. E. E.....8 -
Isn’t it funny how so many of us have learned to not only dispose of unwanted food in the trash but also to cover it up. Lol. Like a cat scratching litter over poop. 🤪🤪6

@SummerSkier I love the Bandit selfie!
Yesterday was a 3 yes day.
Today:
Exercise: active stretching and then walking
Calories: under my limit
Tracking: good
My NSV is something that I have avoided for many years. I need to buy new clothes due to the fact that my dress pants look dangerously loose.
Since I am transitioning into retirement, I guess I'll just keep wearing my jeans to the office. At least I can keep them where they are supposed to be. This evening, I asked my wife Rose to help me take measurements because I don't really know what size of shirt or slacks I should be buying.13 -
I find “Triple Threats” tough to control over time, so I do t buy or eat them anymore. They aren’t healthy for me, and I don’t want to have to “get over” the cravings of them again - takes me anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks.
Restaurant eating is a “no go” for me, too.
Too much salt for starters.
Triple threat= what I call foods with salt, fat, AND sugar..
Many will say my approach is too Extreme. I don’t. I was in the obese range since I was a Junior in high school until 2017…~ 45years.
Significant positive results have required a significant change in my habits.
I’m so happy to be trim, healthy, and fit❤️8 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Kitchen Closed? Yes
Going "nuts" with nuts today? No (13 days-free )
(I go "nuts" with nuts most times, trying to continue a good habit this month. Counting the number of "nuts" free days.) I am still learning a lot about myself in this area!
Lots of freggies today? Yes
Pass day 2/3 (this is for accountability to myself and my records).
Interesting question...
As you can see that from my posting for now I am tackling items at a time. Right now it is "nuts".
Initially it was eating anytime I am in the kitchen. But now once I eat my last tracked meal. My kitchen closes. Accountability has been my way of handling these cravings and bad habits.9 -
Yes, yes, and yes.7

Now every time I see a @_JeffreyD_ witty comment I am just waiting to see @MaltedTea respond...
Did I exercise for 20 minutes? Yes, one longer walk of 40 minutes and two shorter ones.
Did I track everything I ate? Yes
Did I stay within my calories? No, I had a tracking error that I didn't realize until the end of the day. Oops! Luckily it happened on a day I donated blood and I think I could use the extra calories today anyway.
Pass days used: 1/3 (Aug 16)
- Are you challenged by any particular foods? Well, in theory all fast food, pizza, chocolate, ice cream, and all other deliciousness challenges me. Having said that, I have this stuff in the house. What my biggest challenge is is learning what is enough, and how to have food around and to understand I don't have to eat it all. I am very motivated and my husband is on MFP too so there are lots of healthy habits around the house. Any of these foods are allowed for us as long as we have calories. While there are many things I'd love to unleash on, so far having a small amount within my calories seems to make me happier than trying to have none of it.
- What foods do you find difficult? I love chocolate, I like to drink socially, love restaurant eating but the calories are so high and very unpredictable.
- And, do you have any methods that you find help you to deal better with them? Set boundaries with myself that I can have what I want within my calories. For me, I avoid the scarcity mentality by doing that and my body knows I will give it a bit of what it craves, so it seems willing to cooperate with me outside that.7 -

Exercise? Not quite.
Track? Yep.
Calories? Not even close.
We had a second bike stolen last night. Can't even be mad about it as it was the one I'd wished they'd taken the last time and it still wasn't locked up. I came home from walking the dog just about 10ish last night and it was still there. At 5:30 this morning, it wasn't. I'd been trying to give it away, and now I have. Sort of. Maybe I am a little mad. People suck sometimes. My bike has now taken up residence in the apartment. There's really no room for it, but I just don't trust anybody or any lock completely anymore. Right now it's in the dining area and will have to be moved outside if we have guests. I have been staring around my bedroom and the little hallway that leads to it, trying to figure out if I can rearrange furniture in my room or if the bike will fit along the wall in the hall. I think my room is the best bet right now. But I'll have to see what I can do, because well, it's just not that big. And, Ais has told me she doesn't want me to get another bike for her. She wasn't enjoying it and pedaling hurt her knee. So, now we're talking about walks at night at least a couple of nights a week, either at the park (after dark) or on the Loop (while there's still light, or on the weekends).
Challenge foods? Sweets, especially chocolate, warm bread, and pizza. How do I deal with it? Not very well. I rarely have any sweets in the house. I only eat pizza at one restaurant where they make a cauliflower crust pizza that isn't awful. And I get relatively healthy toppings (anchovies, mushrooms, onions, spinach, and artichoke hearts). I will generally eat the whole thing but I try to keep the rest of the days calories low. We eat out. A lot. Far more than we should. Thankfully, they only serve bread at certain restaurants. And, quite honestly, I do not control myself well when we are at those restaurants. Something I need to work on.7 -
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes- Treadmill: 35 min / 2.16 mi
Apple rings closed: 16/31

Exercise: Yoga 20, pilates 20
Calories: Yes
Tracked: Yes
- Are you challenged by any particular foods? Fig Newtons! I have no self-control with them. Everything else I feel like I am able to fit into my calorie allotment. The other thing I have to be careful about is eating out at restaurants or ordering in food because you have to estimate calories and you can be wildly off.
- And, do you have any methods that you find help you to deal better with them? I just don't buy Fig Newtons. Nope, can't keep them in the apartment. As for eating out, I just try to check if I am actually still hungry and watch the size portion I am eating.8 -

Yes yes yes
Day 4 no grazing!

@seilidhe - even though you wanted to get rid of the bike, it still makes me mad someone stole it. What is the matter with people? To store your bike inside, look into something so you can hang it from the ceiling or on a wall. That way it won’t take up precious floor space. It doesn’t have to be expensive, a couple big hooks from the hardware store will do.2

@biketheworld Gamifying positive habit forming works for a lot of people. Glad it's clicking for you!
@mshawski Best of health to your whole family
@ashleycarole86 I think we can all agree @_JeffreyD_ is a pleasant joker
@MadisonMolly2017 "Triple Threat" is a great way to think about it.
@jamcnewman When you unlock the protein secret, please let your fellow Canadian know: I've been at this for a few months now
@seilidhe Grrr! Sorry about the bike
@donna25trinity Thanks for yesterday's compliment and here's one for you today ➡️ Yay for not grazing. That takes self-control!
For me, there's no forbidden foods. However I generally have to "work for" my favored high calorie options (like sweet snacks, savory sushi, etc). That means I'll literally 🏃🏾♀️ to the bakery or restaurant in order to get the item(s). Extras go in the freezer or portioned out.
A few years back, a local cafe's 4"x4" deep fudge iced brownie was my all-time favorite thing. I committed to hacking the recipe so that if I had a craving, I'd have to bake it myself. And, if my hack didn't come close to the original, I threw out the batch. Never quite got it. And the brownie's not something I particularly crave anymore 🤷🏾♀️
