How has your mindset changed because of your new healthy(ier) lifestyle, and knowledge that you've gained in your journey?
My mindset is way more positive now, and I have gotten out of all or nothing thinking. The little things do add up! Back in June I set a daily goal to do one push-up a day. For many people, this would seem pointless, like it wasn't enough.
I am now up to consistently doing three full push-ups daily! So, my mindset now is to just start somewhere. There is no waiting for when I'm good enough. Start where I am, make progress, and be amazed with where it can take you!8 -

Exercise? Yes, barely, but I did.
Track? Yes.
Calories? Again, nope. I was close after dinner, but later on just felt hungry and water wasn't doing it. So I ended up eating some crackers (okay, a lot of crackers - Wheat Thins and then graham). Sigh. Way over now.
Mindset change? I think the biggest one is that I don't mind "exercising" - granted, lately, it hasn't been as much as I should, but since I joined UAC, I'm putting a little extra "oomph" in my walk to/from the bus. On the other hand, while I'm "maintaining," I'm still not losing and I need to. I know what I need to do. I just need to change my mindset some more so I can get back to the weight loss part of all of this. But first...
This is from one of the nuttiest movies I've ever seen. "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra" If you're a fan of old time SciFi, (the B-movies or worse), or are just looking for a movie to practice your best MST3K schtick, this might be the movie for you. Hahahaha! Apparently you can rent it on YouTube. Hmmmm.... I may have to think about this.

How has your mindset changed because of your new healthy(ier) lifestyle, and knowledge that you've gained in your journey? I already ate healthy most of the time however exercise was never consistent in the past. Since I've been doing UAC I was able to meet the exercise component most of the time and now it's been about three months where I've not missed a day. It's no longer optional nor is it a struggle. I must go on the treadmill daily when at home and when traveling I must walk for at least 35 minutes.5 -

Yes to all three.
Walked 35 minutes; gardened and cleared 1.5 hours. Last day of the smoke/heat dome (fingers crossed) and a few days of sweet, sweet rain and cooler temperatures are promised. A heavier gardening day than normal.
Tracking helped me make some better choices for the day (and I really considered a pass day, but chose against it). Under calories.
@MaltedTea Will keep working on cracking the protein code …. 🇨🇦

Went to visit my bff today after work because she's going out of town in the motor home for a few weeks. She's the friend who always says I'm losing TOO MUCH weight and tries to feed me snacks and sweets the whole time I'm there! Her hubby offered me a beer several times and I just kept stalling and finally had to just decline.... so they asked if I was "giving up alcohol"! I told them yes! (It's just easier that way!) In the past he's brought me one anyways... and I would take a small sip or two, and eventually go to the restroom and take it with me - and pour it down the drain and fill it with water!
Tonight was also the first night that I ate ALL of my allotted daily calories and seemed to still be hungry after finishing my supper. I busied myself with cleaning up the kitchen, but in my mind I told myself that I would figure out something very low cal to snack on a little later. I knew that it would put me over for the day, but hopefully not by much. By the time I finished cleaning up the kitchen and joined hubby in the family room - I was surprised to find that I was NO LONGER HUNGRY! I drank a large glass of water and was VERY pleased with my successes of the day (both at my bff's house AND not snacking after dinner!)8 -
(forgot to add)
I feel like my biggest mindset change has been the "all or nothing" mentality. Before, if I felt like I'd blown it, it would very easily become a free for all! Now, even if I go over my calories for the day - I don't go crazy. That's a huge #win in my book!3 -
@Mrs_Hoffer - WOW - talk about 3 big WINS! - turning down alcohol, getting past the late night snacks, and overcoming the "all or nothing" - that deserves a happy dance!

How has your mindset changed because of your new healthy(ier) lifestyle, and knowledge that you've gained in your journey?
This is just a few weeks in for me, so not a huge mindset change, but I'm working towards losing what @Mrs_Hoffer referred to as the "all or nothing mindset." I used to dive into new work out programs, pushing hard, doing everything, often.
Now that I'm older, I can't pull it off. I can do a lot, but I need more recovery time. I'm learning to be okay with that, to take an extra day to rest, not push so hard. I can do everything, just slower with more days in between. And I'm learning to be ok with slow progress.5 -
@SummerSkier- Happy Birthday!🎉
Exercise: Went for a walk in Central Park with a friend.
Calories: Yes
Tracked: Yes
I think my viewpoint on food has changed. Before I saw it more for taste and comfort during times of stress, now I see it more as a way to improve my health and help my body. Taste satisfaction is still really important to me but there has been a shift there. When my friend and I went out to eat yesterday, I ordered a butternut squash salad and loved it. I actually wanted to order the salad instead of filling like I should have one. I find I enjoy greens and vegetables more. My friend and I also had a long talk about how to support each other when school gets stressful.

Wow O! 3 big wins!
I applaud you for saying "No".
I always tell my kids that "no" is a valid answer.
When we were kids, we used to sing this song on the playground for our friends that become sick after eating too much.
"Wherever you go, whatever you see, do not say YES when you mean to say NO"

Making good progress on my sleep habit!
Two excellent night’s sleep in a row.
Besides eliminating screens two hours earlier, I experimented & found stitching relaxes me even more than the book reading. I do this on the side of my bed. Then slip under the sheets & sleep!
Also, I cut all decaf coffee & dark chocolate off at 3:30/4pm which worked great.
My new Morning Walking habit is going great. Cooler, better air quality, less UV. I am usually done by 10 or earlier with all my steps/minutes/arm & planks DONE!6 -
Mindset change: Ever since i was a teen ive always been on a diet... So i hve had to rid the diet mindset, Uac and half size me was the driving force behind this. I also had a very unhealthy relationship with food seeing food as bad food but i now see certain foods as fun foods and i dnt deprive myself from hving them i am able to eat them im moderation which has stopped the binging as i dnt feel restricted. Lastly i am learning to not eat based on feelings so wen im nervous, happy stressed or bored!! Xo5
