In my working days I often would make a nicer more time consuming dinner on Sundays since I had more time. It set the tone for the week creating leftovers for Monday lunches and often a couple of freezer portions for those nights when we didn't have leftovers. These days I can do it any night I want but I still gravitate towards Sunday.
Do you do anything special for Sunday night dinner?

We don't have a specific Sunday routine.. from May to Sept we spend our weekends at an RV park about 1.25 hours north of our home.. so Sunday nights are often spent commuting back and transitioning back into routine.
We have never really been meal prep on Sunday people either as my husband doesn't like leftovers.
He does all the cooking and we are big NFL people so during the winter the focus may be more on the daytime food than anything else.3 -

Yes x 3!
I sometimes "dread" Sunday evenings because of meal planning BUT soon after cooking, I feel good knowing that I've set myself up nicely for the first half of the week.7 -
Pass day today. I was going to go for a run but just feeling far too fatigued to do anything exercise wise. 3/3 but I think there's a really good chance I'll still make it. Week days are easier as I'm normally very active keeping on top of life and it's easier to keep away from treats when I'm busy doing the school run etc.
Today we had a roast dinner - we would only normally have one on Sunday so I think that counts as special. Not every week though.8 -

We still do a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings because that's what DH likes. He does the meat and I do the vegetables (we don't have potatoes). Tonight we had roast beef and Yorkshire puddings with gravy and five different vegetables. I didn't eat all my vegetables but they were going to sit for lunch tomorrow. We put the meat on a timer, as we visit our elder daughter and her family on Sunday afternoon, then the meat is ready when we get home.8 -

Exercise: 7 mile run, and a chill 2 hour hike.

I went up 100 calories a day this past week and ended up losing .8 lb. Since I don't eat back any exercise calories, and I burned around 3500 in intentional cardio/weights/HIIT this week, I am fearful how low my maintenance calories are going to need to be--and when I let up on the exercise intensity, oh boy. Trying to decide if I dare add another 100 per day?6 -

Sunday is the day I prep lunches and snacks for the work week. Not specifically a big dinner but sometimes I will bake salmon as part of the week prep.

Sundays were always special when my children were young. Our time to all get caught up after church and enjoy some time together. Now they are all grown so Sundays are much quieter. Tonight my husband made pulled pork sandwiches and mashed potatoes which worked out good because my son away at college stopped in and the other son came by for a meal too. The two at home were glad for one of their favorites. I made grilled a few chicken tenders and sautΓ©ed some spinach for myself. Today was a good day.11 -
I've had various traditions over the years. My favourite was Sunday Soup, created after a favourite book of my daughter's by the same name. I'd make it on Saturday so we could have our own Sunday Soup after Church for lunch.
Yes x 3 for me today.8 -

β β β Exercise today was my 11 mile #icecreamwalk .
Also, last night, after I closed my diary and reported for the day, I had another homemade peanut butter oatmeal bar (or two!)..... so it put me OVER on calories for the day. So I'm officially out of the Winner's Circle.
My hubby does the cooking around our house because he's retired and I'm still working (two jobs!). He loves to cook - and is a very good cook too! (better than me!) Lol. But I'd have to say that our Sunday dinner isn't necessarily any different than any other night's dinner.5 -

I was doing the more involved Sunday dinner (including always a dessert) up until a couple years ago to make the day more special for my boys. But I was eating far too much and my family will eat most anything that's cooked up and on the stove. We always have a nice Sunday dinner (never any carry-out) just not as fancy or big.6 -

Nothing special for Sunday dinner. Tonight was leftovers because we were both uninterested in cooking. Other times we get on a tear and cook like Julia Child! Most times I prep the meal and DH grills whatever will fit on the flattop.

Hello! I usually keep the meals pretty simple on Sundays, nothing special. But if I do feel like cooking something more elaborate, I'll look up a recipe of something I haven't tried before and make it. Some weeks ago I made Moroccan Chicken Tagine and it turned out pretty good. π
