Today was a new federal statutory holiday in Canada - The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. I walked 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) today in honour of the 751 unmarked graves found using ground-penetrating radar this summer near the site of the Marieval Indian Residential School.
It was a sombre day, and an opportunity for reflection and mourning for all the children who died, and for those who survived. The multi-generational trauma that this genocide has left is Canada’s shame.

Struggled with calories this month for a number of reasons, but it’s also our hottest month & often my highest weight of the year.
Oct thru Dec are often when I can lose the most easily. I just have a couple of pounds to lose. October 1st is my re-start.
A fabulous, memorable day with my beloved Dad today. One I will remember for the rest of my life. His love for me & mine for him have always been strong, but today even more so. I am SO lucky to have had him for the past 65-1/2 years. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Last day of Sept.. crazy!
Today was pass day #2.
I got my exercise (over an hour of walking) and I tracked everything but I was over on calories. We are still on holidays and had a nice dinner out. There's one or two choices I could do better for next time.4 -

Exercise - 15 minutes MommaStrong, 20 minute walk (just squeezed it in before dinner, not time for my usual 30 minutes)
Tracking - Planned the day
Calories - Technically over by 98, but I was so hungry I had to eat more. I had a bit of prepared food in there and I think my guess as to what it would match in the database was over. Because my weight was down 1 pound today from yesterday.
I don't know. Still trying to figure out if 1200 works for me. I don't like being so hungry. But yesterday I also had a meeting during my usual lunch time so my whole schedule was off and that might have been it more than the calories. I'll keep trying.
I think I have a total of 9 pass days for the month.
And I lost 1.6 pounds this month, vs. gaining 0.5 despite my best efforts last month. So I think this challenge has really let me get my head back in the game.
Today is Friday takeout day in my house, and I have adjusted calories by the day to allow for that. We'll see how that goes. I have 1200 for M, T, W, Th; 2000 for Fri; 1350 for S and S. Average of 1350ish.3 -

We have out of town company and I am working on maintaining a healthy balance in my life as I tend to be knocked off balance as soon as my normal routine is disrupted.
Somehow I got into the 'zone' this past month and dropped seven pounds which is part of the creep from the past year or two. I have about three to five more pounds to go depending on how I feel but overall I am in a pretty good place weight wise.5 -
