yes for 3
Fought for everyone. It's been a rough day. I had an early morning CT scan for my surgery on Wednesday and I go out to the car and find a flat tire. At least my youngest son was available and all turned out well at the hospital. I have had a time trying to find out if my tires had road hazard on them. I guess that will have to wait til Monday. I also feel short on time. So much to do before Wednesday. Take everyday as a blessing.10 -

Exercise: Walking was around stores - but closed my steps ring at just over 6000
Logged: All (had to work at getting UP to near my official allotment )
In Range: earned 94 fitbit activity credits despite this being a less-active day (tells you the input vs output ratio ); left all and a little bit more "in the pot".
Personal Extra Challenge: A 30-day "3 doodles-a-day" self-challenge to break through my fear of active-creativity / "not drawing it correctly". Started Dec 6 (5 for 5 so far!)

@jamcnewman Julie, your lap dog is just too adorable! I nearly spit out my coffee when I scrolled down and saw the pic of him setting on your husband's lap!! Too funny!!!
What are you doing these days to fill yourself up without food? I've been trying to spend more time reading my Bible and in prayer. I've found that the 'emptiness' that I sometimes feel (and seem to always want to try to stuff with food!) is often just my soul's way of recognizing that I haven't spent any quality time with my Father lately.
How are you caring for yourself so you can care for others & meet your longterm goals? I'm trying to figure out how to best do this. I'm trying to slowly get some things off my plate as I feel I've been spreading myself too thin for a few months now. I think this is why I've been sick twice now in 3 months. I need to get better at saying 'no'. Lol.
Great questions Maddie!5 -
@Mrs_Hoffer
Good for you! It’s all important work for maintenance - slowly & surely, we figure out what is best for us! Thank you!
@BMcC9 Anytime! There are a few of us in UAC who fill ourselves up with creating 🎉💕2 -

Everything else also great except an odd night of not much sleep. Nothing on my
Mind, happy, no caffeine. I have 1-2 nights each month like that. Perplexing.
Luckily my method works almost all the time now!4 -

No formal exercise today because I wanted to give my legs/muscles a rest before the 5k I'm doing tomorrow. But I got in activity by sweeping the driveway, washing a few windows and vacuuming. Plus did some gentle stretching. Surprised that I had 7394 steps today, especially because the plan was to take it easy! 😆

Pass day - this is my 4th.
I’ve been struggling since Thanksgiving. Despite the food slip ups I’m still exercising daily.
Self care - I make working out a priority. I feel so much better when I workout. I also give myself pedicures regularly so I’m not embarrassed at yoga classes 😂6 -

Good questions, @MadisonMolly2017 . I don't think I usually have a problem with eating to make myself feel better or take care of myself. But I definitely have a problem with eating for "celebration." I posted in "What's on your mind" about that and am still mulling over all the answers I got, hoping they help me this holiday season.
What I do for self-care - these are things that I try to fit in every day, the things that my mom commented I was very "rigid" about and didn't use to be. Since the shut down in March 2020, I have been working from home with insufficient childcare and I am clinging to these things like a life raft. I only give them up when I am sick (like this week) and when that happens my mental health definitely suffers.
- Lots of decaf tea (some of it on a specific schedule)
- Checking in here and on my facebook exercise support group first thing in the morning
- Then my MommaStrong workout
- And stretching, including PT stretches for my tailbone pain that I've had since falling while cross country skiing in Feb 2021 but stretching definitely helps
- Then breakfast before I get my 5 year old up (and if I have to wait until after that is a bad day!)
- Eating my pre-planned meals on the right schedule
- Going for a 20-40 minute walk sometime during the day (or longer if I can, but usually that's all I can manage). Sometimes with my good friend who lives around the block, sometimes on the phone with someone, sometimes with just my thoughts. This is key to my sanity.
- A treat after kid bedtime (that is food, but preplanned and prelogged. I have tried going without it and that doesn't work out well). That is both the treat itself and the time to myself that I enjoy.
- Ideally more stretching before bed
- Reading before bed

I waited until this morning to log my snacks and dinner and was absolutely positive that I was way over calories. Lots of snacking and Indian take-out for dinner. Dessert snacking as well. Well lo-and-behold I was in calories because I did an extra long intense workout! Then I remembered the coconut ice cream that we had out at the Amish farm. Doh!!!! So pass day #4 for me.
