Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

The first week of 2022 is almost over.
No matter what happened (or didn't happen) this first week of the year, there is still plenty of time!
KEEP GOING
17 -
* 45 min treadmill walk I was suppose to go on beach jog but we had a thunderstorm in the morning, walk in afternoon, quick boxing session & stretch.
*Meditation and journaling
* Under calories
* Tracked honestly
* Monitored sugars but over slightly.
Didn't love doing the treadmill this morning but so proud that i did it as it's a great option in dangerous weather. I am sure the treadmill will get easier. Night team. Xo

@Winner_in_Life I know you are working through a major Life Reset (and associated fall-out) right now. Just keep breaking each roadblock to one defined "At least I can make progress on that bit for now"
Please don't hesitate to ask for strategy suggestions about that current bit in the "What's on your mind today" thread - adapt to what suits you - solve it and move on to the following "At least I can make progress on this next bit for now".
Your Future Self WILL thank you for your self-care and patience.
We are here to support if you wish to ask.6 -

Inspiring post @WhatMeRunning!!
WHY WE DO THIS
So, I’ve been having some wonky symptoms. Breathing harder on a steep hill, some pressure in chest, not running up the stairs as usual. Elevated heart rate for simple walk.
I didn’t really notice because I walk hike every day. I have low bp, I lost 70 lbs I kept it off. I eat ridiculously healthily.
Then came
Concerning echo stress test results in the ER. My low bp went skyrocketing while I walked & jogged on their treadmill.
And yesterday a CT scan of my arteries at the ER again due to actual chest pain &
Jaw pain. (Good news at end of post)
Well, as I waited for the results on both days of tests, all I could think was: “You have done EVERYTHING you can.” Must be genetic. Forgave and let go myself for not having been healthier. I honestly did the best I could without tracking apps & UAC & new techniques re: habit changes (NOOM).
And then the results came in. The nicest sweetest resident Dylan looked 22 came in
“I have good news. No, GREAT news you have minimal occlusion.” We both teared up. “Really really good news. You have a lot (spreading his arms wide) more room for heart disease in future.” Haha He put his hands together & bowed. I thanked him profusely clasping my hands to my head, incredulous.
I had done a good job of keeping calm, but I’ve dodged a huge bullet here after ~ 25+ years of unhealthy eating out.
I have read exercise & healthier eating can reverse this somewhat…who knows?
But I am SO GRATEFUL
PS cardiologist is working on the serious runs of VT’s & the possible exercise-induced hypertension. Will take some time
And I still have heartburn like feeling in throat & chest - will explore lungs? GERD? I eat such bland foods…with my PCP tomorrow
Here’s the clincher: if I hadn’t walked up hills & every day, if I’d been my sedentary past self, I would never have known all this was happening.
Exercise may have saved my life. (The VT’s)
As Nike says: “Just DO it!”
My favorite mantra “It’s not if I’ll exercise today, it’s WHEN”
Total mindshift.
Pls learn from my Mistakes.
If you have any thoughts/experience what might be going on, I’d love to hear.19 -
Sounds pretty scary Maddie. I am glad there were no signs of blockages and I expect they checked bloodwork proteins for heart attack. If I had to guess I would blame it on COVID. (it seems to try to find our weakpoints). Ok - that is sort of tongue in cheek really. I hope they can figure it out for you .6

✅ Exercise: 110+ mins
✅ Calories: under goal
✅ Tracked
Remaining pass days: 3️⃣
@MadisonMolly2017 So relieved that the end news was good.5 -
Three ticks again for today 🙌🏼💪🏼
Well done everyone so far ☺️6 -
@BMcC9 @victorious55 Thank you Guys for your support. I really don't know what can help me. Most probably time. Anyway today is 3xyes day. 4 km walk in the evening. Pass days 3/39

@MadisonMolly2017 Oh Maddie - what a stressful couple of days. I am so glad you were seen quickly and with close attention and follow up to the VT issue and exercise induced high blood pressure. Will they do an MRI and ultrasound to rule out any malformation or unexpected growths? Bloodwork to check your potassium and magnesium levels? Keep us posted? 💛2

Thank you Julie
Quite a surprise
The heart is perfect & healthy - chest X-ray
Also CT scan that showed arteries - all
Great
Yes thorough blood work
And heart function blood work
I will, thank you.
No one knows except my hubby my dad & a family friend who is a dr who noted I was out of breath while walking/talking to him &steered me into going back to ER. I let my cardiologist know symptoms & he sent me there.
I only shared it here to emphasize of exercising so we know early when there is a change.
But I have to admit, the Cate has been really nice.
It’s so odd since resting Hr is very low as is early resting BP. And HR returns normal quickly after exercise & bp was in normal range.
We’ll figure it out. I’m at no immediate risk now, so I’m more patient.
Thank you @jamcnewman @SummerSkier & @TerriRichardson112
Summer I’m thinking you might be right! COVID!!!!6 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes - I walk in the afternoon.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes so far but today has been rough for some reason
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes
So I blame all health issues on "covid" and all injuries on "shoes"
Just always good to have a default right?12 -
Yes x3
I've been really enjoying the yoga with Adrienne 30 day challenge this year and I think today was my favourite. Audible ooohhh noises as I deeply stretched parts of me.
I still struggle to hit the mat or start the run or do the next set in the gym. I really thought and hoped that exercise would become easy. I don't think it ever will be but at least I'm doing it.7 -
@SummerSkier Had I not had covid my large tumor would not have been found. So I am glad for that. But Covid does target our weak spots. My heart and lungs took a big hit. My pac's are more frequent but I know how to calm it down ( stop slow down and breathe usually will get it back in rhythm). My lungs are healing and I hope to be able to reduce my meds there.
Yes goodness a bad pair of shoes cause tremendous pain! You may be talking tongue in cheek but there are some real truths there.
@MadisonMolly2017 I hope they continue to rule out all the scary stuff!

0/3 pass day used

Wow @MadisonMolly2017 So scary, glad your heart is okay and you are in no immediate danger. Hopefully you will be able to get to the bottom of it soon. Thank you for sharing; it is a good motivator and reminder of why we need to exercise.
Death of a partner is a tough one @Winner_in_Life, especially if sudden and unexpected. Also moving is right up there with most stressful life events, so be kind to yourself and just try to take things day by day. *Hugs*
Also scary stuff @tahm42, glad your tumour was discovered and I hope your heart & lungs continue to heal and will soon be back to normal.
Yes x 3 for me today. I am feeling a bit like I didn't eat enough for supper but I'm going to head upstairs soon and consider my kitchen closed.5 -

So happy to read your great news, Maddie!
Relieved that we had no shenanigans in DC today, I was a little nervous with the ‘anniversary’ of 1/6

Stayed under got my protein numbers again today hoping this habit sticks. 2.2 miles of spin a little flexibility. Tracked and stayed under.
Any special plans for anyone this weekend? I am hoping to finish Game of Thrones #2 then on to #3. Of course some 🏈 😊maybe a short winter walk in the woods before next weeks frigid cold hits. I guess I should proof read before hitting the post button or at least put my glasses on 😂4 -
@MadisonMolly2017 so glad to hear you are on the path to recovery. Thank you for sharing with us to help all of us realize how fragile life is and how we must make sure to take good care of it. My grandpa used to say “make your choices wisely you go this way only once”. We all need to work on making wise choices or perhaps refining our current choices it’s not easy but…please keep us posted.4

@Winner_in_Life I am sure it's difficult to find happiness or satisfaction in many things right now. You are doing so well, keep on doing whatever you can. I think only a rare few have the inner strength and courage to do much at all just yet. You are on the correct path. I am sure your husband would be so proud of you. God bless!4

@MadisonMolly2017 - I have no suggestions/advice for those symptoms. The chest, first thing that comes to mind is digestion related but doesn't explain the HR/breath, for which I wondered for a moment if a pulmonary embolism could be a possibility, but perhaps one of the scans might have spotted that? I'm certainly not the one to guess though!
Anyway, the biggest thing I wanted to say was CONGRATS on the great cardio news! You have done so well and those results PROVE it!
I also admire how you recognized how hard you worked and came to accept any potential bad results. You don't need any of that negativity on top of any other potential worries!
Just kudos all around, you're pretty amazing, don't you know? Oh wait, I think you got a glimpse today! 😎 Awesome!4 -
Way to go @donna25trinity - I'm not a fan of treadmills AT ALL but if I owned one you can bet I would use it when getting out was bordering on crazy. While I don't mind getting out in the rain or even other weather, some things just don't make sense. I'm actually a little jealous of people who don't mind treadmills that much.
@SummerSkier I see no flaw at all in your illness and injury explanations! 😁
@Geneveremfp as far a exercise goes, a saying I find accurate is, "It doesn't get easier, you just become stronger". I do think that sometimes the rewards you have realized serve as motivation to exercise, but not always!
Congrats @victorious55 @roma7774 @TerriRichardson112 @NicoleThomas002 @tahm42 @Jana_2020 @stella7x75 -
