I've been on a sugar binge since the weekend 😩 You know when you gain & think what the hell I may aswell eat what I like !! Well I haven't stopped snacking,there is still stuff in the house I don’t normally buy,left over from Xmas.Normally I can show self control & just eat I piece of chocolate or 1 biscuit.No I ate nearly half a tin of Quality Street & pringles last night as I was alone in the house all evening,I don’t even like crisps ??
So this morning I got my husband to put them on top of my kitchen cupboard.I can't reach them even with my step stool.
So maybe the sugar devil 😈 will leave me alone.
@Pupowl your sunset photos look pretty spectacular to me.The colours are amazing.
There is a line of pebbles in my local park that people have put there.Its mainly positive messages on them,eg Be kind.Such a good idea,& something creative to do with your Mum.
@angmarie28 I hope your neck gets easier to move.I used a tens machine in labour,it certainly helped.Omicron numbers are so high here in the UK. I continue to be careful who I mix with & masks are compulsory in shops & public transport but not everyone complies.
Just burn the sugar!! Build a fire and burn it all!! I swear we are in the same boots!! I feel like burning a whole pan of jalapeno brownies in the fire pit!! Bwhahaha you got this!! Stay strong sister!!!4 -

Great start to my Tuesday - I got a new daily planner/To do list (like a Notepad w/tear off sheets).. utilized it yesterday to plan out today's schedule and I've actually ticked off quite a bit already.
- Feeling organized & accomplished so far this morning (and all before I start my workday)
- Link to the planner if anyone's interested (I💗 it's simplicity): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0969L61JG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_0CNC52VSVAXXA0WC1RFG

@Pupowl if that sunset doesn’t even count as a spectacular one, I want to move to wherever you live.
@izzyred9400 I have a tens machine as well and tried it during labour, but hated it. Eventually just yanked it out and made do without. Also, for the leftover Christmas treats: would it help if you put them somewhere out of sight and difficult? In the past I’ve had this same problem and put them in the top shelf of my kitchen cabinet so I couldn’t reach them without climbing on a chair. The thought of climbing on furniture to fulfil a mindless craving felt so stupid it actually helped prevent the munchies.4 -
Fitness action of the day: walking several laps around the mall trying to make the baby fall asleep, I guess. Also, it was warmer at night so we walked back home from the subway station instead of taking the bus. On the way there we took the bus because it was too cold.
Home improvement action of the day: finally put away the damn Christmas tree.
Tomorrow we are going to take it easy, with no set plans. Some stretching or a youtube workout are in order, and my home improvement action is checking the stroller and taking out all the random junk that has accumulated, finding a toy to hang from it as baby is grown enough to need one, and restock the diaper bag. I had a panic moment at the mall when I realized I’m out of diapers while the baby was already on the changing station without one. Luckily they had the info desk’s phone number printed on the mirror along with a text that they have diapers, so I called. The lady said she was just about to go on break, so she brought the diaper to the babycare room. After getting baby all dressed up, I went and bought a nice chocolate bar to the lady because she truly saved our day.6 -

I was able to workout today, but not very hard. my back/neck is still hurting pretty bad. I could not run, that hurt pretty bad, but I got something done. I may go to the chiropractor after work because I feel like this is more than just muscle soreness.6 -

Ramblings of the day
Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a nice first day with my mom. She liked all her presents. One of the things I got was a book about Happy Stones. I think people everywhere are doing it, but for those unfamiliar with it: you paint a rock, leave it somewhere during a walk where it is easy to spot, someone else will find it and they can bring it along and leave it somewhere else. A lot of people also put a Facebook group or other name on the back so you can share with them where you found it. So it basically becomes a travelling rock. My mom had mentioned this a few times before, so I got her everything to get started (besides the book, some paints, markers, varnish etc as well). We went for a 6km walk and found some pretty good stones that should work well. We will try out painting sometime this afternoon, with our nonexistent skills, so that is going to be fun.
In the late afternoon we went out again for a short time because she wanted to take pictures of the sunset. It wasn't the most spectecular one, but still pretty. The rest of the evening we played a lot of Rummikub which is our go to game.
Some sunset pictures under the spoiler.
Happy Tuesday everyone<3
Painting and leaving rocks is very popular where I live. There is a facebook page called "Montana Rocks" that people share what they made and what they found. I have a gnome rock on my desk that one of my kids found. such a fun idea.6 -

Current Maintenance Weigh In:
152.2
Holding on to maintaining-my husband completed his first round of chemo & was completely wiped out; I have been taking care of household + trying to maintain some sort of normalcy & keep up with bills, etc.- I still have my Christmas decor up upstairs, but I took down my downstairs decor- although both Christmas trees are still up - he can't help me - hopefully, my older son will stop by this weekend to take the one down that's in my rec room
We see the cancer dr on Friday & my husband starts again on Monday with his next chemo round; hopefully, he can suggest some things for his low energy9 -

@izzyred9400
@hipari
Thank you! It wasn't a bad sunset by any means. Just not a huge area of the sky that was affected. (I live in the Netherlands btw, which is really flat, so sunsets are easy to see where I live)
I hope you have the sugar under control again Izzy. I sometimes also just eat things that are there, even if I don't really like them. In those cases, I often opt to just throw stuff away, much as I don't like the wasting of food. I bought cake for my mom's partner and I think I will throw out what I have leftover. Better than in my belly.
@Yukie_OP
I really like that planner! I love lists and tracking stuff in general. I already have a lot of daily check ins, online and on paper, but that one seems really useful.

Fun to hear the rock painting seems to be a thing in a lot of places. I think it got a lot bigger because of Covid. I actually enjoyed painting them more than I expected. It is really relaxing and they are done pretty fast because you only have a small surface. It can be a little tricky to draw and write on a rock, but I guess that takes practice. I managed to finish 3 when my mom was here, but I might get some stuff for myself as well so I can paint more. I put my instagram name on the back of the rocks and my mom took them with her to leave on walks, so they have already travelled a bit! I am curious to see if I will get any messages from people that find them.
Here are my rocks:

Ramblings of the day
Good morning team. I had another great day with my mom. We got up early to head out to the National Park. It was a lot colder than we expected, mostly due to the wind. This got a little better when we were in the forest, but it was still pretty chilly. We had a very evenful walk though; we saw a deer, common cranes flying in the distance, several bird of prey (one that dropped out of a tree on top of a bird right next to us in the forest) and I saw a long-tailed tit with a bright, white head. That's not the kind we generally have, but the white headed species rarely shows up here from Scandinavia. It was really cute, but I didn't manage to get a good picture; they are very hyperactive little birds. We were out for 3 hours, at which point we both felt a little bit like icecubes. Thankfully, it was nothing a big mug of tea couldn't fix. We spent the afternoon painting rocks, which was also great. I cooked an awesome vegetarian roti and we played more Rummikub in the evening.
Pictures under the cut! Happy Wednesday everyone7 -

Bouncing back and forth since Christmas, but finally below 200. I swam yesterday and got all my water in. I'm sure I'll be bouncing a bit up and down but will solidly be in the 190's in the next few weeks and then it's on to the 180's.12 -

Just popping in to congratulate everyone's progress ... it looks like were are recuperating from the Holiday haze.
@coblujay - Congrats! Nice milestone
@Pupowl - Love the rocks- the mountain with night sky is my favorite. Your pictures are always great to see: I have to make a drive to get some nature scenery, so I greatly enjoy when you share.5 -
We went out to dinner last night and while I was eating I caught myself making an involuntary sigh. This is something I knew but had forgotten about. When you are full, your brain and stomach send a message indicating that you’ve had enough to eat by sighing. I put my fork down for a minute and did a self-assessment. I indeed had enough to eat. Not stuffed, just full. I boxed up the leftovers to have for lunch today. I’m committing to listening for the sigh this week. I invite everyone to try this technique!9

Hey Guys, I hope you are all doing well and off to a flying start for the new year. A very busy time for me running the year end with a few all-nighters. Caved in and ate a whole family pack of crisps at 3 am one night. At least that was the only lapse.
Started the year at 118 and down to 115 so a far start. This has got to be a better year for sure.
Keep smiling!6 -
@coblujay congratulations! That’s amazing!
Daily check-in: today was a more restful day, but I listened in on an online group session for postpartum physical therapy. All the stuff for moms was kinda pointless for me and I knew it already, but they had some nice pointers about supporting babies in their motor skills development. Did some of the pelvic floor and core muscle exercises during the session. Home improvement was lots and lots of regular daily chores, and I scrubbed the toilet.
Throughout my pregnancy and until recently husband has cooked about 90% of our dinners. He’s been growing tired of it and I’m tired of taking care of the baby 24/7, so we agreed that one of us puts the baby to bed, however long that may take, and the other makes dinner, and we switch turns every other night. It’s up to coincidence which is more time-consuming, so it probably evens out in the long run.
I bought a cookbook meant for families with babies and toddlers, and the selling point is that it’s recipes that are simple and quick enough to handle with a baby, make minimal mess, and all recipes are designed so a baby learning to eat solids can eat the same stuff as parents. All the recipes have instructions for when to take out the baby’s portion for pureeing or chopping or whatever, and what modifications are needed. Our baby won’t start solids for a few months, but the recipes looked really good so I’m trying a couple this week.
Tomorrow: go on a walk with baby and pick up her new snowsuit from the post office, and make dinner.3 -
