Congrats on reaching your goal @Arc2Arc
@Mrs_Hoffer Fun to have a wedding on the horizon to look forward. Good work losing the holiday weight!4 -
bON had requested and has been patiently waiting for a photo of my cat, Kia, with the sun in her eyes. But she’s a cat. She’s lovable as hell but not always compliant.
So the NSV here is actually getting one this afternoon.
@victorious55 congrats on 1,000! Really impressive.
@ashleycarole86 thank you and congrats on your progress!
@WhatMeRunning love your attitude in the face of adversity! That's a winning attitude.
@Mrs_Hoffer good luck with the wedding. And thank you!
@BMcC9 I'm following along with your TDEE. I admire your dedication!10 -
Yes, yes, yes
NSV: I've been sleeping better and longer. Also, I'm not as focused on the scale (hello, progress!).9 -
My turn,
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? House work all morning
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes, thanks to cleaning house
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes , and I saw that I need to control my extras.
My NSV would be that thanks to MFP I found how I can control my weight, and what's the culprit8 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? This morning I did an hour workout. The YouTube channel is called Shine Dance Fitness. I followed the dance workout for the whole hour. It was so much fun. First time ever doing their workout. This is a NSV for sure.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes
I have been practicing mindfulness when I am eating.9 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 115 minutes Peloton bike, and 15 minutes stretching.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Great NSV's everyone!

My NSV victory is that I was able to hold a plank for over a minute this morning. I liked reading @ForLangston NSV of sleeping better and longer as I realized I'm starting to get a solid 8 hours most nights as well. That's a huge change for me.9 -

NSVs: I ordered underwear one size smaller because mine are too large.
Also, in January, after seeing our lifestyle changes and weight loss while visiting us at Christmas, both of my adult sons are tweaking their eating in healthier ways. Both are already quite fit, but both took seriously my concerns about their genetic risk for metabolic illness and my desire that they take steps now, in their 20s and early 30s, to make sure to prevent insulin resistance through better nutrition. My oldest decided to try what we are doing and already took off the weight he put on over Christmas and has been exchanging recipes with me. My youngest, who is currently going through a divorce, asked if we might come to visit him to clean out his pantry, get out all the unhealthy food, start his new recipe collection, shop for healthy food with him, and help him learn to make some of the new recipes. My oldest is also sending him the healhy recipes he discovered. So tonight I am here at my son's house, helpfing him with his planning and steps toward better eating.

Yes x3. A short upper body workout and 20 minutes of yoga.
NSV.. breaking the holiday sugar addiction10 -

In fact, I'm in perhaps my strongest starting position ever to "get back to it" as I am able. I am primed, ready, and much *kitten* shall be kicked this year!
EDIT: For anyone unaware, MFP changes "naughty" words to "kitten". No kittens shall be harmed.
hahaha I had no idea about the "kitten" thing. Thanks for the headsup.
And yay for keepin on keepin on! That's all we got really. Meeting ourselves right where we are.
I was bed bound for some years back in the early 2000s. At one point I realized that I could do baby stretches in bed and make sure I walked regularly, even if just a few steps to the shower.
That and a lot of other baby steps helped me slowly get back on my feet. Rock on!9 -
✅ Exercise - 90 minute brisk walk to pick up something from a distant-ish neighbor
✅ Calories - Yes
✅ Tracking - Yep. Every bite.
2/3 pass days so far.
Today I joined a group for over 50 runners on FB and am gathering info to prep myself to start running again. Baby steps baby. Probably do a couch-5K program and take my time. Lots of encouragement to go for it, nice n easy, even with foot issues and still being overweight. I'm leaning in.
I finally connected my fitbit and it keeps giving me extra calories. I mean, it was an insane amount added today. My practice is to use about half of any extra cals from exercise. (I have plateaued a few times from
undereating.) I think it's adding these extra cals because I have COPD and my heart rate bumps up when I move around quickly? But I'm not actually exercising. So I keep taking them back off. ('Cause I'm the boss, MFP. Stop that.)
NSV- so many this past year! My scale has been staying pretty steady since I added weight training HIIT workouts in. I know this is because I'm building muscle again! rawr. The past three weeks I've been able to do 50 sit ups per workout. When I started the HIIT routine 4 months ago, I had to alternate side twists in my sets because I just couldn't do that many situps, even in sets of 10. Now, it's no problem! And I've bumped up to heavier weights with no problem also.

Saturday January 15
My NSV has been successfully addressing my closet and dresser drawers to weed down my clothes to those I fit into now. The clothes that are too large now are bagged for the charity shop and are leaving the house. I’ve gone through all the clothes still to small and boxed and labelled those (by season and grouped by size) and put them away for now. The rest — leaving the house.
What a huge weight that is off my shoulders! Especially in that I don’t need to keep looking at the clothes that don’t yet fit. I know exactly what I have and it will be easy to look them back out once they will fit.
✅✅✅ for today. One outdoor walk with the pup; one walk on the treadmill. 12,000 total steps.

Jan 15 I LOVE reading all of yours!’
My NSV’s:
I was/am Proactive re: possible heart-related symptoms in late Dec/early Jan
I trusted my doctor & cardiologist when each in their own way said my symptoms could be anxiety. I began 4-5-7 breathing, actively caught myself worrying & stopped, and relaxed more.
I cut my sodium down.
I got my steps back >10K & >90 mins after doctor-requested 4 day break.
My spirits are high & I’m definitely more at peace.
Began creating more often.
Smelling the roses.13 -
