MorticiaAddamsMSFS Challenge - Decluttering

I find several things to pitch every day and also find things that give me joy. We found a homemade book that my MIL's Sunday School class made for her when she was dying with cancer. It was the cutest book and made us laugh. Lots of pictures of cute little kids, pages they colored, stories they made up, wishes telling her they wanted her to get better. Lots of them told her their fondest wishes for Christmas - many of them would like to have a "labtop". LOL.2

That is a find!0

Agreed.0
-
We loved it. Definitely a keeper.0

How goes the decluttering? Apparently I am doing the opposite. It’s a sunny but cold and windy day here so my first goal will be to straighten up my office. Hope you are doing well.0
-
We are doing well with it. I am not able to precede as quickly as I would like because hubby is taking a long time with remodeling the huger 10 foot long window in the living room but I am finding a lot to burn.0
-
I'm still getting rid of stuff as quickly as I am comfortable with. Finding permanent homes for what I am keeping.1
-
You have inspired me to get going on my decluttering! Thank you! I am doing a little bit most days. It will all come together. 💕😁1
-
I am doing well balancing my energy with my decluttering. I know you continue to do well, too. 💕0
-
Today we burned a huge lounger and it's pad and a bunch of old cancelled checks.1
-
Progress!! Sounds like the decluttering is continuing.0
-
Yes, decluttering is ongoing but I would love it to be faster. LOL.0

I kind of wish we were where we could burn things too. I remember my dad burning stuff when I was a toddler. Our house wasn't even part of the city yet in those days. Now, we are downtown adjacent.0

I miss living where it was possible to have bonfires; we did this with some frequency in the Midwest (US) when our kids lived with us. We have a really nice fire circle here in CO, but we only have a fire maybe once a year…and then, when snow is on the ground (low fire risk). Who wants a fire in the winter?!?1

PS @MorticiaAddamsMSFS I’m impressed with how you’ve been sticking with your decluttering goal.1
-
I am determined to get things straightened up here. We have to downsize. No choice.2
-
Your determination is helping me a lot, tish. Hugs.0

How are you doing these days?0

I am doing great with the decluttering. Even letting go of things I wasn't that crazy about letting go of. I am going to lessen my load here. I am still decluttering almost every day unless I am swamped with other "chores". Yesterday I cleaned my bedside table. A real mess!2
-
Woo hoo! Good for you!0
-
I am starting to let go of some old clothes now. Emptying up boxes.2
-
It's amazing how much clothes weigh. And I don't know about you, but when I take them out of my house, I feel like my house sighs with relief, haha. Of course, I feel that way about most clutter- that every pound I remove from my house is another pound of stuff off my mind.1
-
I feel the same way. My house is begging to get some relief from being stuffed to the gills with useless junk. My hubby tends to want to hang onto things and when I try to throw things away he thinks he can use them. Arrggh!

I've slowed on my decluttering, but have amped up my home PT routine, plus reporting to PT twice per week!
I got a Bissell crosswave vacuum/ floor mop that is saving my shoulder and surprisingly works quite well! Now, I have to clean the basement. I used to enjoy cleaning when I was younger, but now-- not so much. 😆0 -
@MorticiaAddamsMSFS How are you coming on your decluttering goals? Maggie0
-
I have gotten back to decluttering and am making some progress. Working on small areas and ignoring the big picture which is overwhelming.1
-
Boy, I feel your pain. The big picture here is not good!0
-
I just keep plugging away and so far you can't tell much has been done but I don't give up. I can't.2
-
I am back to plugging away. I had the flu. Keep getting more tired. Blah. 🤣
How are you?0 -
We are still hard at it. It seems to be getting worse but hubby says it will have to before things improve.1
