Tracked logged let’s do this in May! Welcome new and returning UAC’ers best of luck this month
Way to get it done Kate! Keep meaning to ask you — how did you get started with Tai Chi? A class or are there videos to help one start out? It looks like such excellent exercise for balance. @snowshoe0723 -

Today was a super active day. An 8 mile run this morning. Weeding. A 1.6 mile slow walk this afternoon to make sure my legs still worked. Pre logged so tracking complete. A small cut today on calories goal met.
Congrats to all the winners from April. It’s definitely not as easy as it might first appear. Keeping track of the folks who qualified last month was a real eye opener on just how difficult. 15 winners out of about 50 folks who joined and 40 or so who started. 😳👏😳
Let’s have fun this month and enjoy every day for how it plays.
Well done on a super day today bON! That was quite a drop in the number of people joined to those who started, and then those who finished. It felt very “slim” there at the end of April. Quietest month since I joined I think. But lots of activity on here today starting out May so perhaps it will be a successful month for many. @SummerSkier3 -
I was one that dropped out mid April after a strong first 3 months. But I’m back at it today with 3 yesses.9

I was one of the ones who "went silent" partway through April, but am now back with a vengeance. A strong start to May, and a determination to make it a Steady Stream Month. The only special events on the near-term horizon are Mother's Day, and a wedding to attend on June 4th. Looking to look my best as my BFF's son gets married (MY son is one of the groomsmen. The two boys have literally known each other since birth! Practically unofficial cousins)
My goal for May is To Show Up - have an MFP sign-in streak of 31 days .... and may as well log and report in here while I am at it 😎
Off to a strong start.

Today was iffy due to an unplanned restaurant meal but then we took a long walk in our new neighborhood.5 -

✅ Exercise 11.6 km walk; gardening: spring clean up in the perennial beds (it is finally warm enough to remove the protective dead matter) 🌱🌱🌱 Lots of green shoots starting to emerge. Goodness I am glad it is spring (I know I have mentioned this many times —
bear with me. 🥰
✅ Tracked it all: dinner of whole wheat pasta with homemade tomato sauce and lean beef meatballs sure was a high calorie meal 🥸 Good thing it was so delicious and filling.
✅ Calories under deficit allocation: working hard this month to refrain from eating my exercise calories, if possible. I will not go hungry, which means making good choices, particularly for veggies, fibre, and protein.
Wishing everyone a very good month of success ahead. 🌟4 -
Welcome all to May and a big congrats to all the Winners Circle folks!
I think April was the month I took the most pass days. I still lost weight - there was nothing inherently off the rails about the month and I remained a Champion - but what I targeted for in terms of calorie allotment was not always happening.
I am very close to switching to maintenance, and I've changed my calorie allotment approach in MAy in prep for that. I think my goals for this month are more aligned with where I am now and less so with where I came from for the last 15 months of continuous weight loss (which is why my April didn't exactly work how I thought it would).
Anyway, all that to say - I'm REALLY looking forward to May. I hope to get to the lower end of my bottom end of what I plan to call my maintenance range, and then make the switch and start the next phase (as in - the rest of my life phase). Which is really no different than the phase I'm in now... let's be real. Minus the thrill of chasing loss on the scale

@jamcnewman Coincidentally, my planned supper tomorrow is almost exactly the same as yours! Yum!7 -

Re-arranged my priorities - my eating &
exercise has to come first.

Almost 8K steps!
And eating veggies instead of nuts worked well in late afternoon. I ate them like snack food from a bag in my pocket as I walked!
I will definitely be doing the veggies for nuts swap frequently to lower my daily calories & reach my 1st goal: under 160lbs for 7 consecutive days.
So a good day. I didn’t make as much art as I do when I don’t walk, but I think I can improve my efficiency going forwards.

Glad you're back @biketheworld, @loopydo2017 and @BMcC9 and welcome all the new people. I agree it was getting too quiet around here and it's nice to have some new/returning energy.
I am starting off May with a Pass Day
Exercise: I did a 15 minute MommaStrong and walked all day at the fair
Tracking and Calories: I made a good plan for the fair but then did not follow it all the way. I did better than if I hadn't planned (I brought a salad and oranges and ate them!). But not that great (also ate fried dough). I also finished the birthday cake leftovers.
I am really hoping to be on track for at least a good stretch now. My next tempting event is my college reunion beginning May 12. I am going to try to set myself up for success and then be successful in the days until then.5 -
Pass day 1/3
Congratulations to the Winners!4 -
@jamcnewman i found a “really” easy beginner video on YouTube the facilitator does a great job here is the link or how I access the video
Tai Chi 5 minutes a day module 1 it’s also under Taiflow looks like there’s several modules to build upon the woman’s name is Lei I hope this helps. I have only done the first session but I find it relaxing4 -
I have to start off with a pass day. I hosted a previously planned brunch for May Day. Although it wasn’t ideal, I managed to stay within budget all day - until evening. Someone brought me a gift of butter cookies, and I managed to devour most of them before bedtime! Not an auspicious start….
Exercise - ✅- a round of yoga, a round of weights, and a round of core.
Logging - ✅ - every last cookie
Calories - ❌ - not even close6 -
Hello everyone.
I’m hoping to have more exercise days & stay at or under my calorie goal this month.
Off to a very rocky start, one of my friend’s 31 yr old son was found dead on his couch in his apartment Had not responded to phone calls or been into work. No health problems as far as I know. Not overweight. Not into drugs as far as I know. Parents got the call today but it was found out that it happened 2 days ago. So very sad. One of my husbands best friends son.
We also had something else happen in out personal lives late Friday afternoon & we are still reeling from this & trying to find out how to handle this life changing issue that happened. It’s turned our life upside down. No more details on this, but I need to get healthier so I can be stronger at least physically. That will certainly help us.
