Hockey was a blast, half of the rocks have been placed and leveled, work was productive, and we finished staining the waterfront wall. Ohh!! And I scored the game winning goal tonight! We're going to the finals in 2 weeks.
I brought 'two bite brownies' with icing on top to the game to celebrate since I didn't have time to bake cupcakes like I normally would for my birthday. It was a hit with the team after a great effort, super easy to make, and SO EASY to portion control myself!
Here's tonight's supermoon reflecting on the lake and shining in through the bedroom window that had no blinds....
This is the pad with 2 of the 3.5 tonnes of gravel placed. More photos demain, après le travail!
And the wall in the centre is the one that is now stained to match the upper levels. Just one more retaining wall below it to pressure wash, sand and stain to match and we can focus on getting the gardens more under control.

@Tcathey45 Sending hugs to your family and hope you get some good news for your sister's situation 🙏.
@YinxFed Sounds like you have been very busy! Glad you will get a little break.
@KellyBgetsfit Glad you are having a good start to the school year. You just never know who is walking in the door for kindergarten!
@bowens1973 Looks like you are going in the right direction 👏 Good job. Hope training for your next ride is going well!
Today was another good day for food. I was able to hit my macros and calorie goals today. I didn't do any formal exercise today but spent time working in the garden and it was super hot! Definitely felt tempted by cookies in the house today. The kids almost have them finished off. I have been doing some sewing lately on these hot days. I'm working on a fall themed cage for the guinea pigs. I have the main cage liner, loft and ramp covers sewn. Next I need to create the accessories and little cushions. I will take pictures when the entire cage set up is complete!

@PlaneMonkey Congrats on the game winning goal on the eve of your birthday! I have to ask, did you beat the team with long ponytails? Love the moon pictures! We are hoping to check it out here and maybe see some of the meteor shower. Might not work out with the moon. You have gotten so much done! Looks so great, nice job!4

Loss this week: 0.2 lbs
Good morning WaistAways!
Given that last week's loss was so big, and this week is TOM, I will take this and run with it.
Last night at the gym was a class about floorwork and a class about getting into the splits, and I am feeling that floorwork class this morning. Muscles I didn't know I had are tired.
Thanks for all the support about the chair routine @jugar (you're right that having to perform for people pushes you a lot to improve), @ashleycarole86 (it's September 9th, which feels both too far away and way too soon), and @KayLRZ (hip hop class sounds like so much fun!).
@Tcathey45 my thoughts are with you, your sister, and your family. Take care of yourself, too.
@eggfreak the garden, much like everywhere in life, thrives when we remove what's not working and encourage what is.
@KellyBgetsfit a kindergarten teacher! Thank you for your service, haha.
@conleywoods the cage sounds so neat! With lots of little fiddly pieces to sew, I bet. You must be very talented- I can only sew a straight line on a machine, anything more than that and it turns into a mess.
WAY TO GO:
@bowens1973, that's a fantastic loss!
@PlaneMonkey the gamewinning goal right before your birthday!? Incredible. Also, your backyard revitalization looks fantastic so far.
Happy Friday, everyone!

Have a lovely Friday everyone ♥️8 -

Made it back into this decade, and will do my best to stay there by balancing celebrations with manual labour!
Enjoy your day everyone!7 -
@PlaneMonkey Happy Birthday, Courtney! Wishing you a wonderful day. Your home/projects look amazing. And congratulations on scoring the winning goal. That’s pretty thrilling.
@KellyBgetsfit Good luck with your challenging group of littles. I agree that having a routine always helps me stay on track. So historically I have gained in summer and lost in the fall. Opposite of most people. I will have 15 little PreK kiddos, one of whom is Juliet. I’m excited. I go in to start setting up with the other teacher on the 22nd.
@Terytha I hope you are feeling more energized, but I have been experiencing extreme tiredness after Covid too. I fell asleep at 9:30 two nights in a row. That NEVER happens in my world. Finally, took a 2 mile hike yesterday and had more energy. Also my heart rate is finally coming down a bit. Hope you are feeling better.
Sorry to be a bit MIA but this week has been weird. Guess I’m still healing. Finally caught up on everyone’s news. Love all the reporting.
Not quite back on track, but I’ll get there. Got up early to look for my cat, who always sleeps with us, but did not last night. I thought she might have gotten locked in the garage accidentally. She was fine, but point of this was I threw on my clothes and drank my coffee before weighing myself. I may still try and see where I am. Tomorrow may not be better as a friend has asked us to meet for Chinese food tonight. I know I’m better than I was. Early in the week, I was up 5 pounds. I know it was the water retention from the meds somewhat. It has come down a bit each time I have been on the scale. So who knows where I’ll end up.
I’ll get back with weight in a bit.
Tomato 🍅 folks, I have lots of cherry and grape tomatoes turning red. A groundhog has eaten so many of my big green tomatoes. It makes me so mad. Yesterday I yelled at him, can’t we share?! I counted 9 mostly eaten tomatoes left in the garden, almost like a Ha Ha to me!! I do, finally, have a big one turning red. I hope I get it. Did a little research. This heatwave (anything over 85°) stops the process of turning red. Lycopene (sp?) that turns them red cannot process in high heat. Now that it’s cooled off, hopefully more red tomatoes will appear.5 -

Courtney, happy birthday @PlaneMonkey
Love the hockey pic.. your joy and exuberance radiates through your posts.
Congrats on the return to the 180s!! Have such a great weekend.
@KellyBgetsfit It seems so early for the school year to be starting.. am I nuts?
@micki48 Sorry the after effects of covid are kicking your butt so badly. Glad you're recognizing it and giving yourself patience and not overdoing it. Hopefully you'll be back to full force soon.3 -
Happy Friday!
@PlaneMonkey Happy Birthday, hope your day is full of fun and frolics with all you have planned. So much good going on with you, congrats on scoring the winning goal and can't wait for the next installment of reno photos and reports on your games. I can go forward on ice and round a bend, anything else ends up with me on the floor, I salute you!
@conleywoods I admire anyone who can get a hold of their macros and just shows how our self talk can motivate us to make good choices and get results
@CupcakeCrusoe How wonderful you get to strut your stuff, I would love to go to a chair or pole class but until there is one available near me and I get the stones, I will wait for your updates, lol
@Tcathey45 Sorry to hear about your sister. Love to you and your family
@YinxFed I find zoom meetings exhausting too. Enjoy your day off and lie in
@KellyBgetsfit How many questions do you get in a day? Kinders are my favourite aged kids, they're little minds are so open and free and enquiring
@micki48 Wildlife eh. We have a plum tree that is really poorly, I had a bunch of about 5 plums that were getting nicely ripened and the deer ate them. It's with the 5 pear trees that I actively shake for pears to fall for the deer to eat. Do they not know the difference lol?
Today we are off to the Route 66 festival in Springfield, MO, should be a fun day

Hooray! My new scale weighs in at just over a pound heavier so I was very happy to have lost enough to get a green weigh in despite the scale switch. My old scale said 229.0 this morning! I'm feeling the momentum of my hard work and can't wait to see what next week brings.
@CupcakeCrusoe Your class sounds super fun. A long time ago I had the Carmen Electra Chair Dance videos and they were fun. Most of my sewing inspiration comes from seeing things I want online but not wanting to pay that much so I make it myself.
@dillyg08 Great job making it into the 100's!
@ashleycarole86 School seems to start at different times in different areas. The schedule seems different for some districts. Some have 8 week summers. My area has 11 week summers. My kids go back Sept 1st at their district. My district doesn't go back until Sept 6th. All districts in my area work 180 day contracts. It's just all over the place!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY COURTNEY 🎂 🥳 🎉 @PlaneMonkey have the best day ever!5 -
Today is going to be dismal for steps! I forgot to put on my fitbit this morning, and have been sitting working on a project proposal for most of the day. Going out for a walk now! Even if the day's totals will be sad.3

Friday weigh in
PW 208.9
CW 210.3
I know it’s a gain but I was as high as 213 something on Sunday or Monday. I’m not happy about where I am but not beating myself up over it.
I’m not back up to my high of 223.5, but pretty far away from my prepandemic low of 188 and pre- moving weight of 192.
Sizes are a joke. Particularly women's sizes. Today I was trying on clothes to make sure I had things to wear when I return to work. I have 16s that fit, 16s that are loose, and 18s that are snug. And 18s that fit. It makes no sense. I really don’t care. I just want things to be comfortable and look good. So over it.
That said, I am going to dinner with a friend tonight after lunch out with my OH. I know this all stops when I go back to work. At least the lunches out.
@jugar I also missed out on at lease a thousands steps because I forgot to put my Fitbit on.5 -
@micki48 hugs to you!!! I know what you mean about sizes - they are all over the place. Those of us old enough to have been through the entire migration of sizes know that what used to be a 10 is now a 4 and manufacturers differ like crazy. I have tops in a small from LL Bean that just swim on me, and things in a small from other companies that barely make it around. I suppose that the anarchy makes it harder to feel bad about a particular number! Or good, for that matter...
Speaking of numbers, once I finally put on my fitbit at around 3:30 this afternoon, I then went out and got over 10,000 steps in anyhow. I would not have done that last month when I was not wearing it! The team competition helps a lot. Of course, I then went and blew it on food and wine. Sigh. At least this morning's weigh-in was OK
My walk included an encounter with a mole who was a bit confused. We had a moment together, even though it seemed a bit disoriented. I think it got back onto its path after a few minutes. I felt a connection, as I am sure we all would! Keep bumbling around -- you'll get there6 -

Great comeback on the steps! We got home from the festival, I checked my steps and had about 400 to reach 10,000. Thought to myself I’d go to the orchard and drop some pears for the deers so that would get me over 10k and double my move goal (which was also under by about 40 cals)….. squirrel totally got sidetracked, stayed on the couch and did achieve either4 -
I finally broke my streak yesterday...kind of. It was another Kindergarten Teacher's birthday, so I had a small piece of cake. Then, when I got home, I was so hot from parent pick up, I ate an ice cream sandwich. I logged it and was actually only 50 calories over my goal deficit , and way below what my fitbit said!!! According to my fitbit, which I know isn't always accurate, I burned 2400 yesterday. My macro calculated calorie goal is 1548. This morning, the scale was down a pound from Wed, which is very motivating to keep it together this weekend
@ashleycarole It really depends on the region you live in. East and West Coast states tend tostart after Labor Day (beginning of Sept)but go until June. We start in Aug, but get out before Memorial Day (end of May). Arizona goes back in July!!! They have more of a year round model with longer breaks during the year.
@micki48 That is so exciting that you get to work in Juliette's class. I currently don't have any pants that fit me well, hence the weight loss motivation. I have been rocking dresses since it so hot. My pants, and shirts definitely vary in sizes.
@loraineGB at the beginning of the year, it is insane! This time of year, I just want them to learn to raise their hands, so I allow all kinds of questions and comments and it takes forever to get through a lesson. But, I love it.
@Jugar you are amazing getting all your steps so late in the day. I had a pretty good week, so I might beat you. 😏 Mabel was crying half the night, no idea why, so I am exhausted, but you are motivating to me to get up and move!!!4 -

I'm pleased with this tiny loss as the second half of my week went poorly and TOM started yesterday. I wrote a final yesterday for my master's and now I just need to figure out my model and write the whole thesis (so the hard part).
I've messed up my ankle so the gym has not been consistent and I'm very frustrated. I'm hoping next week will go better pain-wise7 -
@jugar if you can throw in one more step challenge line to the spreadsheet, that'd be great!
Exercise catchup:
8/11: 16986 steps + 37 minutes Peloton
8/12: 7676 steps + 10 minutes strength3 -
bobagurl2017 wrote: »How does the daily step thing work? I have a Garmin.
Got your steps - thanks!
The week runs Sunday-Saturday, so I'll just need your Saturday steps tomorrow as well.
Additionally, if you do any minutes of intentional exercise outside your step counts, please go ahead and give me those minutes of activity as well as I can convert those to steps and add them.
Lastly, if you have a daily step goal with that in mind that you are targeting, let me know and I'll also keep track of how many days you hit that.
Thanks!

Good afternoon WaistAways!
Still 181.6 this morning, which is nice, since I ended up eating the rest of the halva yesterday, which put my calories for the day above 1900, lol.
Weekly exercise minutes, @ashleycarole86! 360! My goal was three classes, 180, so I doubled my goal!
Thanks for the support for chair, everyone! @LoraineGB I hope you get to try one day! Here are some stills from chair routines I've done this week (today was chair AND pole, which was fun and a little terrifying!).
Today I've found that my fan kicks (the one with the blurry leg, lol) are higher than they used to be, so I'm getting more flexible, even if I can't tell as well in the splits class. It's very exciting!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

We went to an omatsuri (Japanese festival) today and there was just no way I wasn't eating melon pan and drinking ramune, so. Today is not a great calorie day. But melon pan is the food of joy. It's bread wrapped in cookies!
I want to go back to Japan so bad. We picked up some info on maybe taking evening classes on the language again.7 -
@CupcakeCrusoe Wow! Those photos are great - and you look amazing. I love the lighting - usually exercise classes are in boring fully lit spaces. I can see why you enjoy this. Great atmosphere, beautiful moves, and lots of muscles and flexibility. WTG!
The truly beautiful colours and flavours are now flowing in from the garden - eggplant, four kinds of tomatoes, red chard, kale, carrots, beans, zucchini, and still some blueberries. Yum. And so far I have not had to start plotting the downfall of the groundhog kingdom! As long as I give the slugs some beer and the cabbage moths some BT, all is quiet and we get to eat it all.
The week is coming to a close! Send in those last weigh-ins, and we'll see how we shaped up alongside the other teams.4
