I'm going to check in today instead of my usual Friday because I won't have access to a scale until Sunday or Monday. I'm traveling. Moving my sister home to Pennsylvania from Florida. I can't wait to see her tonight and give her a big hug!!!!
I've got my motivation back somehow! Let's just hope that it continues through my trip.

Wednesday check-in 11/09
Wednesday went on except for the fact that it rained ALL day! I didn’t get a chance to walk in the park. I had to wait for my son to finish his swimming in my car 🤦🏻♀️. I still managed my 10k steps for the day but I wish I could have done better. Sam was happy to get back to his activites. Everything stops here when the kids are on school break so he was getting pretty bored.
Today Ive got someone here working at home but only I til about 10 am which I will then head to the gym. Back home for lunch then going to a shop where I saw some cheap dumbbells and kettlebells that I would like to add to my home gym. Then tonight is choir rehearsal. Getting ready for our Christmas concert. 🎶

I hope you are happy with your new GP. I remember when my Gyne left and I was needing to find a new one. I was not a happy girl.
Hoping you can find some form of relief for your pain. I also struggle with joint pain when the temps get cold.1 -

I live far from my sis as well and our reunion hugs are the best! I hate that I live so far from her and I hope that one day our lives come back together again and we can be with each again. I really miss her. I’m so happy you get your sis back again. I’m also happy you have your motivation back. Makes everything so much easier.lindamtuck2018 wrote: »Steps: 3,345

I am going to do mini walks and arm exercises with my dumbbells today. Anyone else eat pickles and retain water the next day? I went to a potluck yesterday and didn’t do to bad with my choices but couldn’t resist the pickles. So good but so much sodium.
I retain water with sausages and Chinese food. I can try to be a good as I can with either of those and I’m guaranteed a 2lb gain the next day. What do you usually bring to a potluck? I’ve always struggled with them. I get scared of what people put in their food or how they prepare it 😬1 -
Good evening all.
Check in:
Steps - 11000
Calories - 2700
Exercise - pickleball 90 minutes. It stopped raining long enough for the courts to dry. Still very cold and windy. Made for some interesting hitting.2 -

I am the same way about potlucks. My friends laugh at me and say it’s no different then eating in a restaurant. I knew almost everyone there and have been in their homes many times so I feel a bit better. I brought meatballs. Quick and easy.Good evening all.

Did my mini walks and got all my steps in. Not sure what I will do today as my granddaughter passed a bug onto me. Colds are back!
To my teammates in your 50’’s or older: Do you find you need less sleep as you age? I have been debating this one with some friends.0 -

Thanks Mari my new GP is friendly and on the ball when it comes to refilling my medications so that is a plus ... I see my podiatrist this afternoon ... I am hoping for good news but I have a feeling it is not going to be good news since it has been 3 weeks and 1 day since I had foot surgery and the pain is still unbearable1 -

I am a sleeper ...and I can fall asleep with a drop of a hat... if I don't get at least 8 hours of sleep I am a crab-apple the entire day

My thoughts on sleep ....
I d always been able to sleep anywhere anytime and undisturbed for 8 or 10 hours.
Then 11 years ago my husband passed away and that was the end of my sleep! I spent 2 or 3 years hardly sleeping at all .... and during that time I learnt to sleep when I could .... if it was 12 noon and I could sleep I did!
Things are alot better now. I get off to sleep around 10pm most nights. But I wake up early 4 or 5am. If I get back to sleep great x if I don't then I don't! I don't stress over it. If I'm tired at 3pm I don't fight it ... I take an hours siesta. Benefit of retirement .... sleep when your body wants too!
Ps always sleep listening to something as it helps my brain stop thinking!

Yum meatballs for a potluck is such a good idea. Especially if you are using a slow cooker for them. Such a great idea. You know I think I may have been a bit traumatized as a child when we would have potluck at church. There was this lady who would bring a Mac and cheese bake and there were always like milk curdles in it and then I started to just not teust anything that was brought. I started imagining the worst lol. I would only eat what my mo would bring which was usually like an enchilada bake or lasagna.
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve caught a bug. I do hope it’s nothing too bad and that it quickly passes.
On sleep….. i used to be able to fall asleep on demand. No matter what time of day it was or where I was. Now, by 8:30 pm I’m falling asleep no matter where I am. Bed, sofa, st a friends house lol. 8:30 hits and I’m yawning and eyes are red. It’s really embarrassing. BUT. Then I’m up by 5 am. I can never ever ever sleep in. I just get up and do laundry and have an early relaxing breakfast. I also always have a one hour nap after lunch almost everyday. Otherwise I’m a grumpy girl. 🤷🏻♀️

Oh Megan I hadn’t realized that you had foot surgery recently. Oh man that’s not good that you are still experiencing pain 3 weeks later. I hope it’s nothing too serious and that whatever it is your so doctors can fix the problem. How did it go with your podiatrist?

I was throwing the ball for my 2 pups when I suddenly fell into one of their craters that they dug in the backyard... I broke my ankle in 2 places ( the ER Doctor only 1 break) and I tore ligaments and tendons ...No phone call or voicemail so I showed up and the receptionist said we call you several times the Dr is not in today ... thank goodness it was just across town and not in a different city ....I will see him Dec. 8th

Wow. Just wow. December 8th is a long time to wait ! Especially if you are having so much discomfort. Are you on pain meds?

Thursday check-in 11/10
Thursday was a bit of a drag for me. I did lots of waiting in the morning. We had our heating guy here getting our heating system on and ready for the winter and it took forever. I then walked doggo and finally dragged myself to the gym. I got my workout done but I was NOT feeling it. After I went to the shops to lol for those cheap kettlebells k had seen and they were gone 😭. I should have grabbed them when I saw them. I will try a different location this weekend. Fingers crossed they have some there. Then for the boys dinner ready and had a very good choir rehearsal. I think we are going to be good and ready for our Christmas concert. 🎶
Today is going a bit better. It’s bank holiday so my kids are home but I still managed to go to my Karate class. Just made myself a nice tuna wrap and I’m gonna go ahead and take a nap now lol. Easy day!

Hi! I ended up hopping on the scale at my mother's house on Wednesday, so I have a weight for that day. I wanted to wait until I got home to confirm it on my scale though because it seemed crazy, haha! I guess that first week's water weight is really coming off.
