Happy Thursday everyone3 -
@jessicakrall8 can you please excuse me from weigh ins until January please. I’m somewhat watching my consumption but don’t want the stress of it. I will weigh in January 7th.
On a side note, I completed each of my Apple Watch monthly challengers this year. That’s two years in a row5 -
I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling well @ac204. I hope you feel better soon ❤️🩹. My husband has had a cough since he returned from traveling and he’s been miserable. He feels miserable, so I’m trying to do more for him, but he’s treating us all so miserably that it’s taking a lot of effort for me to keep going out of my way to give him extra support while he’s sick. 🤷♀️
Nice picture @TexanMom8152. I’m glad to hear about your travels and special family time while Jason is home. I guess you liked the series you binge watched? Would you recommend it?
Congratulations on accomplishing all the monthly challenges, @CasandraW! That’s quite an achievement.
@Nataliewr0403 - I hope you survived your last few days before the break and now have time to relax!
@Armygirlarmyof1 and other ShapeShifters with time off from usual responsibilities, ENJOY!
And, for anyone experiencing a ‘blue Christmas’ or winter holiday season, we’re here for you. The longest day of the year is behind us now so the days should be getting brighter. Take care and feel free to reach out via the direct message section if you want to ‘talk.’
I’m enjoying the time with my sons - and it’s been fun planning and preparing the things they like - but I’ve also been remembering all the people we’ll miss seeing - my cousin and uncle, and my friends’ sweet 19-year old, who died - are especially on my mind. The holidays are a great time to reflect on who and what is important to us. So, for me, the holidays make grief easier because it can be a natural time to think about memories of loved ones and smile.
Of course, not all memories bring smiles so I hope we can continue to spread more kindness, generosity, compassion, love, and general goodwill into the world. I think our own positive thoughts and actions can affect the local culture and make life easier for those who are suffering. I appreciate the Shape Shifter space for all the care and support everyone brings to one another.
As we set our intentions for the coming year, I wish you all the best. Peace and love to all — 💕

@CasandraW I've asked the MODS to mover you to the Support team until January. That will give you a break from weigh ins and you'll be back up and running starting Jan 7th. Enjoy your holidays! CONGRATS on your badges meeting your exercise goals for two years straight! THAT'S QUITE AN ACCOMPLISHMENT! WOOHOO!!

@PatriceFitnessPal loved the link to the minimum, better and preferred concept about dealing with food and exercise. Definitely made me think about where I'm at at need to go. Also, love your positive thoughts about the holidays. Like many, I do have some sadness with this time of year over lost loved ones, and it is so important to remember what this is all really about.... A time for reflection and kindness.
@TexanMom8152 I can't imagine what would go better with an oreo than a nice cab! Lovely picture! Sounds like Texas won't get it as bad as in Feb 2021.... but stay warm.
@ac204 Hope you feel better soon!
@CassandraW Amazing accomplishment!! Those stinking Applewatch challenges are HARD!
Quiet day for me here in Colorado. We are missing most of the storm, but my daughter was going to fly home on Christmas Eve through Chicago has changed her flight to come home through Denver on Christmas Day when hopefully things will be better. At least she will be with her fiancee's family and not stuck at O'hare...
Everyone enjoy their holiday times!3 -
And the snow started earlier today but has started slowing down. Icy Temps near or below zero so unless I'm walking Dinah, my butts inside. My little great nephew ended up in the er today with a 105 temp. Flu A.2

@Armygirlarmyof1 - I hope your nephew is better soon — how scary!2

Good morning y'all:
Temps are dropping today from 55 down to single digits overnight! Brrr! I'm calling this @jugar weather! LOL (She loves the cold)...we're literally polar opposites! LOL! Aren't you lucky, me and my comedy are appearing here FOR FREE all week! ANYWHOOoo...I got up early to get my shower before temps get crazy, so my hair will be dry before I head out. I'm feeling fine after my two vaccines yesterday and only have sore arms. I am headed to the grocery right before noon to pick up the last few things I need for the holiday. I'm not doing anything fancy, so it's mainly staples I'm picking up. Winds are whipping here already, so I'm keeping most of the drapes closed and have towels under the outside doors, to avoid drafts...doing all I can do to keep things warm and toasty. Reading a really good holiday book right now so looking forward to curling up with some hot chili later in my favorite oversized sweatshirt (that used to be too tight to wear and now looks like a dress YES!!) and reading tonight. Hope you guys stay warm and toasty, safe from the storms going across the US. If you live somewhere warm, PLEASE send me pictures!! I'm beyond jealous!
Got my walking done this morning plan another walk for this evening, indoors of course...
Keep your animals indoors and please travel safe if you're on the road or in the air over the holidays! OK I've given out all my free advice...anything else and I'd have to charge ya! LOL
Enjoy your day! Post some pics if you have warm climates or want to share your decorations and/or pet pics! I LOVE THOSE!

Tomorrow I have church service at 4 so that means I need to be there at 3:30 to get a seat then my in-laws come over for dinner then we go by them to do gifts with my husband's side - his sister and her husband; but his brother and his family won't be there they do their own thing and won't celebrate with us

I…can’t…even. I’m afraid it’s gonna get worse because we are baking cookies tomorrow. The stress and lack of mobility are really frustrating me.

The weather outside is frightful...it really is yall. The temp when I got up this morning was a minus 7 degrees...aka 7 below zero. So, Dinah and I have kept walks very, very short. Indoor routines for exercise today was (2) 15 to 20 minute yoga routines. If yall are thinking about adding yoga, I do Birds routines and they're on YouTube. I prefer hers personally but you've got to find who you're comfy with.3

I have a 10 mile run tomorrow, maybe that will help bank a few calories for Christmas Eve and Christmas Dinner!

I have a Garmin watch, and similar to Apple, Garmin has numerous "badges" and monthly challenges. I confess, I'm a bit of a badges junkie: I can't get enough. I eagerly await the end of each month when they post the challenges for the following month. The challenges usually cover walking, running, cycling, swimming, strength training and yoga. My hope is that one of these days, I'll start getting more of the running and cycling badges (beyond the occasional 5k run challenge).
Here's a screenshot of my most recent badges.2 -

That’s awesome!! There are lots of other badges and awards as well. The monthly challenges are always based on your previous activity. My recent one was to exercise for 30 min in a day for 20 days of the month.3 -
We have a blizzard here today. We were supposed to be hosting a Christmas open house this evening. Unfortunately the weather has closed a lot of roads and made driving conditions unsafe. My parents live just down the road and they came by for a bit. I have a lot of food and drinks in the house now though. I had planned a party for 30 ppl. Oh well, it will keep. Better everyone be safe.
It’s -16C with a wind chill of -25C today.5 -

Good morning Shape Shifters. Not much has been going on here. I got some Christmas money from my mom recently. I dislike spending money in general, especially on myself. But since this was an unexpected gift, I decided to get a really pretty puzzle I have been eyeing for a while. It was €29,- which is almost twice the cost of other 1000 piece puzzles. So I would never have bought it for myself if it wasn't for the gift. I also got 3 books by Tamora Pierce. I have read several books from her about the same universe that I really liked, so I am pretty sure these will be great as well. I got them delivered last evening. When I checked my bank account, I saw another big money gift from my dad had showed up! He had gotten a pile from a wealthy aunt and decided to share. Super nice. I put most of it in my savings account and I am almost at a point where I am comfortable with my savings again. If I didn't have Tinus, I would be totally fine with having €2000 on there, since it's very unlikely I will ever need more than that at once, unless all my appliances die on the same day. But I know how expensive vet bills can get, so I want at least €4000. I will easily get to that point in a few weeks.
That is all for now. I hope everyone who celebrates will have a nice Christmas. Sorry to read the weather is making it hard to visit family, but it's not worth risking your life, so please be safe!
Happy Saturday everyone

@LaurieWrobo hope you & your husband & family have a good Christmas, you've had a tough year.
Just nipping out for a few last minute items, will check back later with you all.4 -
Isn't it funny that after my post my dryer died? I've had twice before when it wouldn't start but got it going again. But today it just won't budge at all, can't turn it by hand either, completely stuck. I ordered a new one, but it won't be here until Thursday. I didn't have a drying rack for my clothes either. Thankfully there is one fairly large store in my village that sells a lot of household items, so I just biked there and got one. Not too expensive either. It is still really annoying, and a good chunk of money for a new machine.4

For all the late posters this week...contrary to your concerns, I did not have Santa put you on the naughty list ! Everyone appears to be having quite a good week and very active. GREAT JOB!
Enjoy your holidays! Merry Christmas!

@pupowl Tinus looks like he's contemplating the meaning of life...OR he's ready for his next treat! Glad the money came at a time when it was needed (dryer) and hope you got one that you wanted! I firmly believe everything happens just in the timing that it's supposed to due to coming event we can't expect. Somebody upstairs coordinates these things...glad that's not my job! Enjoy your books and the new puzzle...it's pretty...can't wait to see it once you complete it.
@casandraw Hope the weather doesn't cause problems for you! Please be safe! Sounds like you're probably in an area where you're used to it and they have the necessary equipment to manage it. Last night it dipped down to 12 degrees with a wind chill of -2...WAY too cold for my liking, but I didn't lose power and the winds calmed down so that was good. Kept the faucets dripping and the cabinets open where the pipes are to keep things warm. So far all is good, but this deep freeze has set in through early next week, so I'm not going out. Brrr!
@izzyred9400 Nice loss this week!! That's fantastic! Hope you have a wonderful holiday!
