She is adorable and looks like she has made herself right at home already! My mum has just rescued an Egyptian Baladi dog. He is 2 years old and came from Egypt to the UK when he was just a pup. I’ll share some photos when he arrives on Sunday 🐕

Yes @cre804 and @CasandraW I second the recommendation to walk along the High Line. I have friends who live in NYC, and always enjoy those walks, as long as we dress for the weather.
Congratulations @jessicakrall8 and welcome to Betty! — just in time to celebrate your birthday!3 -

Thanks for remembering @PatriceFitnessPal ...I started a little fundraiser to help the rescue that led me to her on Facebook...so if anyone has a dollar or two...send me a message and I'll send you the link! No pressure! Anyone with pets knows how much emergency vet care costs...that's where it will go...

I’ll take that minuscule loss! I went off plan 2-3 times this week and was expecting a gain, so I’ll take my 0.2 loss and run with it 😆

I might be retaining a little water as I had another active week and was good about nutrition, all except for last night when my youngest and I had a little celebration together over a school achievement.
I'm really looking forward to the weekend, hope everyone is keeping well!

I’m in Boston helping a family member transition through another phase of treatment for an eating disorder and depression. We started with 5 weeks of residential care, then moved to a partial hospitalization program (i.e., an intensive outpatient program 7 days per week with only one evening meal, one breakfast, and some day passes per week). This last ‘step down’ phase lasted about a month. So, I’ve been learning a lot over the past 9 weeks.
Now, there is a special program designed for mood and anxiety support three days per week, while the participants bridge back to a more typical daily routine with the help of a mentor. So, there is more independent decision making about how to spend time and there are also responsibilities that go along with the increased independence — like laundry, cooking, waking up on time, and catching public transportation to commute each day.
I also helped my mother with a bunch of household tasks and errands. I filed papers, paid bills, organized her tax documents, etc. My sister is a nurse and provides the most consistent care for our Mom, so I try to shop, maintain her car (which isn’t used much but is important to her), and coordinate with workers that need to be hired for general upkeep. My 3 siblings and I have unique roles, but I live the farthest away. Everyone else lives within a 30-minute car ride but I visit every month or two, and usually cover any longer-term care needs, like if Mom is recovering after surgery or something.
Today, I managed to carve out time from work, and ‘Mom care’ to visit my father-in-law, who has dementia and now needs 24-hour assistance at a memory care facility. We had a wonderful visit. He doesn’t remember much about his current life but we always have lots of fun talking about things he enjoyed— fishing, walking along the beach, Red Sox baseball! We seek moments of joy and there were many today (e.g., savoring a warm cup of coffee, remembering his favorite baseball player, Ted Williams, etc. We can learn so much by focusing on the moment like young children again.
Carpe Diem, Shape Shifters!
