Greetings fancy friends!
Things are looking good for this week, but I already feel myself caving a bit as such a successful week comes to a close. If you're in the same boat, but sure to pick up and get back to the success energy, even if it is only one little thing per day. No zero days - don't go to bed at night without one little thing. And then thank yourself tomorrow
I had the most fabulous snowshoe expedition today. After about a foot of snow, and more falling, I just wandered in the woods and enjoyed being out there. It was really "slowshoeing" - it was deep, so breaks were frequent. But that is when I could listen to the crows, the wind, the little sounds, and just breathe the clean cool air. Ahhhh.
So let's get set up for a good week 2, everyone! I'll be travelling down to my dad's for his 95th birthday. I'll also bring my flutes to my favourite repair guy who lives not too far from there, so I'll have a few days hanging out with the happy pappy, and come home with adjusted and happy flutes. Even the evil piccolo of doom will be sounding good
What's your plan for this week?7 -

Boy, I am sick! Walking pneumonia. I haven't seen a doctor, but I have had it several times in my life, and the symptoms are the same. Fatigue, wheezing, unable to rest... feeling a little better today. But I am definitely laying low!

Mon: 12459
Tues: 10811

The only reason I have any steps, is because of my dog, Jack . Lots of stopping and a slowwww pace.

Yay for batteries! Let's hope I can stay green for the next 4 weeks.
I have a few more things to do before bed tonight but wanted to be sure to post my weight before too late. What a lovely snowstorm we had. I chuckled at the notion of "spring cleaning" already...that's at least 2 months off, you all...at least in Vermont.
Have a great weekend.

I'd also like to share this for anyone who might be interested. There is an online Pilates program that some of us here have enjoyed, or continue to enjoy. I have been using it for quite a while now, and find it a wonderful resource. They are offering a free month of membership to try it out, so if you are interested, sign up! I'm not usually into sharing things that might be like advertising, but I receive nothing if you decide to try it, and just can confirm that it is a good resource. There are tons of Pilates videos at all levels, and lots of other information.

Hello,
I had a long day of working on a paper for my masters. This one has been taking longer as it will be reused in some capacity in several future classes. I just wanted it finished 😪 it took over 9 hours to complete but I did it! It's turned in and the next assignment isn't nearly as time consuming. I generally love having a shared office at work but one of my coworkers can never tell when I'm trying to get something done. This last assignment I just couldn't do while someone talks at me😅
My success for the day was: I was brave and got on the scale. I'm up to 235 so need to get that under control. I did the stomach acid test @Gidgitgoescrazy recommended and I might have low acid. Just one little mini burp 7 minutes into the test. I remembered to take all my supplements. I also roasted a turkey for dinner and to have leftovers for easy week night dinners.
I did take a small break and walked down to the 100 year old orchard we have on an old homestead. My husband has been getting the apple trees shaped up. I had a nice sunny walk through the snowy field and got to warm up by the fire my husband had to clean up the trimmings. I'm planning some proper exercise tomorrow. I will do a little more homework and then save the rest for paper work time at work. My husband and I have massages tomorrow afternoon. I'm sooo looking forward to that!5 -

I was nearly 6,000 steps under goal. We had a lot of floor play time with the grands on Friday, but that's what they wanted to do. We built things with magnetic blocks. We play the way they want to play, so there's that. Absolutely no regrets or sad feelings about that. I'll sacrifice steps to make memories any day. I was pleased to increase steps yesterday with it being a weekend day. I'm usually not as active on the weekends. I say not as active, really I just mean there are not many steps. Cleaning the house, cutting the grass on a riding mower, making shirts, etc. A lot of things that require me to stay in one spot.5 -
March Week 1 Exercise:
Sun - 9207 steps + 46 minutes Peloton
Mon - 9602 steps + 32 minutes Peloton
Tues - 9346 steps
Wed - 8453 steps + 22 minutes Peloton
Thurs - 5005 steps
Fri - 7967 steps
Sat - 4983 steps + 77 minutes Peloton3 -
Did a long ride on the Peloton yesterday because Brad and his friend signed up for the Okanagan Gran Fondo in July and they convinced me and his friend's sister to join too. So, I'll be doing the 153 KM distance in around 17 weeks, so there's no time to spare to start training. I will do most of training on our Peloton because it's winter (and the snow just keeps coming) and because I prefer to ride inside. I will have to do rides on the bike outside to practice of course, but from a fitness perspective I intend to make my efforts count indoors. I am mostly going to work on building my fitness base for the next 6 weeks or so and then I'll start into my formal 10 week training plan.4

@jugar Safe, uneventful travels
We tried the acid stomach test. Four hours later I still haven’t burped 🤷🏼♀️. I will try again tomorrow but have added raw, unfiltered apple cider to my shopping basket.
I want to make a comment in response to @jugar ‘s post about the scale and results (page 5 I think). I can remember the back end of last year having a gain every week, at least that’s what it felt like.
Come Friday I would be very anxious and dreading seeing the number on the scale. Sometimes knowing why and sometimes not knowing why I was up. I contemplated leaving the team because I was continually waiting for the ‘Loraine, you’re dragging the team down and we don’t need that’ but it never came. What I did get was support, good info, kind words and a whole lot of encouragement and patience.
I decided in December to get focused and make a commitment to my future self. I am 59 in 13 days which means I’m 60 next year and time is flying by. I need to make good habits muscle memory so that when I do have a lull, my set points are 5-10lbs and not the current 25-30 that I seem to go back to every time. 30lbs is so hard to work off. And I’m tired of the yo yo. Tired of the disappointment in myself (of which im totally in control of). Anyways, I wanted to share this for any new team members who may be going through the same thing.7 -
Well said @LoraineGB!1

Saturday: 8,642 + 30 min jog @ 4.5 + 20 min weights
Tuesday morning, I went to the gym before work, then worked a lot in the yard later on. I can't even count the number of squats I did outside. Spring clean up in the yard is good exercise! However, the next few days I didn't want to move! 😂
My plan for this week is to continue tracking everything I eat. I have plans to meet some friends for lunch on Tuesday and have already looked at the menu. I will most likely have either a salad or the grilled chicken with veggies.
I went for a walk outside with my husband at Country Park and went to my cardio dance class. I'm trying to enjoy the next few days outside before the temps drop again. It's 67F and sunny right now, tomorrow 69 and Tuesday 72 🌞6
