Good morning WaistAways!
PW: 175

Still a loss from last week, although I saw as low as 173 this week, ugh, lol.
I've been buckling down a lot more this week than last week, and I've got a solid plan for next week. Naturally filling foods (greek yogurt with oats, chicken breast) and allowing my protein to be anywhere from 80-100 seems to be working more than using a ton of protein supplements (although oh yeah ONE bars are great) to hit 100 or more. For now.
Busy day ahead, going to the zoo for breakfast, and they're going to feed the animals while we eat our food and walk around, and then dance choreo at the gym, followed by a day of hard cleaning and tik tok grinder salad sandwiches.
Have a great day, everyone!4 -
So I'm ready for my 5k....but the weather is not 😥 Crossing my fingers it's a quick storm!

This is amazing. I haven’t really had the time to work out as I’m trying to sort out my daughter’s school placement. She has special needs and it has been hard getting her a placement int a special school. I trying to make meal adjustments, swapping some meals.
I’ve also started using the stair climber instead of a treadmill. I’m hoping to buy a rowing machine today for home use. xx5 -
@jugar sorry for the delay but I am going to have to take a pass this week. I have had a nice spring break and haven't felt like getting on the scale!!!🤣🤣🤣 I don't think it is high, I just don't want to think about it. I ate well this week, hit my steps several days, but also had a few days of lounging with the kids, watching movies, playing games, and snuggling. It was a great week off, minus the horrible weather. I return to my regularly scheduled weigh in next week.5

And back down she goes. Non scale victory: my cute summer jeans which were too tight last year fit perfect! I have lost weight in my stomach but also fighting with some water retention from some medication I am taking! Never trust the scale - it doesn’t show the full picture!!6 -
Well, the race is complete! I feel great even though I was very slow haha 😊8
-
@lauren_989 good job with the race! Was it windy? A runway is a big open field and the wind can come whipping through and hit pretty hard.
We've got a storm brewing here now, it's going to be 50km/h gusts with snow this evening. Friends invited us over for dinner but it's a half hour drive and it's just not worth the risk on the roads.
I'm keeping busy with home projects and cleaning so I stay out of the kitchen but hubby has decided to bake oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and corn bread muffins. I must resist!
Congrats on the NSV @carlsoda! You're right that the scale does not tell the whole story.4 -

Hanging in there. At least my cough has finally gone away!

@zankash23 good for you getting a rowing machine! If there were any one machine I would want, that would be it. There is nothing like an erg trance I hope you find the perfect school for your daughter - it can make such a difference.
@carlsoda I am picturing you in the cute jeans. It is wonderful!
@lauren_989 you did it!!!!!! Thanks for the photos and the news - 5k no matter how slow is still 5k! Well done.
@PlaneMonkey your hubby is officially evil. Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are among the most irresistible substances on earth! Cornbread in any form is a very close contender. I think you may have to leave home until they are all gone. I know I would! I wish you courage in the face of adversity
@bobagurl2017 I am glad to hear your cough is relenting. It has been a long slog for you! Keep well now - you have had enough of that under the weather stuff.
We had an very quiet day here today, which was just what the doctor ordered. I got my dad doing silly exercises in his walker. He can't understand words very well anymore, but if you stand in front of him and move, he is the most accurate and enthusiastic mimic! We did all sorts of marching, small squats, arm movements, breathing, high knees, and then sitting leg lifts and getting up from the bench over and over. I think we have found our fave thing to do together. Otherwise, he is really losing his ability to catch and use language, so it is good to discover a new way of communicating. He sees and does. Any effort at some kind of sign language seems to help. After our duet workout, I was able to do a good intense Pilates session which I really needed. Phew! Tomorrow we'll try to do the same.

@PlaneMonkey luckily it wasn't too windy, although they did warn us ahead of time that it could be and to dress appropriately.
It's crazy the difference between jogging on a treadmill and jogging outside, even if both are flat! Now that the weather is warming up, I am hoping to start jogging outside instead of on the treadmill. I really enjoyed the race though, and am looking to sign up for another! There is a 5k in October at the local zoo, the price includes an admission ticket. I am trying to talk my hubby into doing that one with me!5 -

@lauren_989 I did a 5k in the Toronto Zoo once. It was great! The zoo layout had a surprising amount of stairs and the lure of stopping to watch the zebras almost won over my desire for a certain finish time. The inclusion of zoo passes means you can leisurely return to the exhibits you want after the race.
@jugar I'm glad you were able to find a way to communicate and connect with your dad. Tons of hugs your way.
@zankash23 congrats on the rowing machine! So jealous. I would love to have the space in my house to have one of those. It's such a good overall workout.
@eggfreak it's good to see you. Hope you're doing well.2 -

That is up a bit, and I know it will come down. I carb-loaded all week for the Savage Race.
I didn't wear my FitBit for the race. I was glad I didn't as there were several phones and Apple Watches lost along the course.
This was my second savage race.
I'll have steps to report next week.
I talked my boss into doing this with me. She says I'm not fired tomorrow.
I'm on the right.
She has never done anything physically exerting beyond work.

@IDebraK and @lauren_989
What lovely pictures of strong ladies celebrating their amazing physical feats.
The excitement of a race is great.
@IDebraK so great you could encourage your boss to join you, and @lauren_989 love that you've got your sights set on another race with your husband.
Being active with others is so much better in my opinion!
Just like @jugar bonding with her dad through the power of movement... such great stories to catch up on this morning!4 -

So great catching up on your news. Amazing races, new exercise equipment, travels, connecting with others through movement and just plain relaxing and listening to your bodies.
Our trip to NC was exhausting! I know it will sorta soon be over and there is hope for less stressful day to day. Not sure I have ever been this exhausted physically and mentally. I’m not sleeping well which I’m sure is contributing. Good news I am stress Not Eating. I mean I am nourishing my body, but I have very little appetite. So maybe I’ll make it back to where I was when this all started a year ago.
Son has a hopeful 🤞🏼interview Friday but that is our closing so we set up movers to put his stuff in a storage unit until he knows what is next and will go stay with a friend. Essentially he is temporarily homeless. 😩He didn’t even know what to write for his mail forwarding order. We ran out of room for trash, our older car that he has wouldn’t start. I got a crack in my windshield driving home and worked my butt off cleaning out the house.
Closing on NC house this Friday. New house on April 18th. Then moving.
Nice losses I’m seeing. Keep it up. @PlaneMonkey loved the quotes from the podcast. Talk to you soon. ❤️

@micki48 That sounds like some intense times for you right now. But movement is happening - the quiet times will resume before too long, I hope! Cars, though... ugh. Hugs to you!
Today was a nice day - took dad out to a Korean restaurant for lunch, and then picked up my repaired piccolo from the magician who works on my instruments. I have never seen this piccolo look so good, or play so well. It is 76 years old, and has the sweetest sound that such an evil instrument can possibly have! Then I took a good long walk, and will be heading home sometime tomorrow. Dad's doing much better today, understanding and speaking way better - of course, it is because of our exercise sessions, amiright??

Happy sunny Monday!
Wow, I realized that I’ve got it in for my “tomorrow selves”. I’ve been on a wicked tear of ice cream eating and low desire to do anything physical at home. Seems to be resentment-building combined with a fencing match!
I’ll be in the car today with my younger daughter, picking up a standing desk in Exeter, NH. It’s at her aunt’s place (approx 2.5 hrs one way). Zzzzz.
Wish it was the *other* aunt, @jugar!
Have a good day, everyone.

Hi guys, I'm back, the Bahamas was beautiful, unfortunately I was sick the last half of the cruise, sinus pressure and a very deep cough, so I kept it low key and stayed away from people. I of course am feeling much better now that I am back at work.... Told my boss I'm going to need a do-over vacation... I don't think he liked my idea as much as I did...
Anyway, I of course ate terribly, so I am going to have a gain, but I am back on the wagon today, and strapping myself in...

I made it back home! Not as dramatic a return as you had @Gidgitgoescrzy - poor you! Getting sick on vacation and then feeling better when back at work is seriously upside-down. Tell your boss to get with the program and go along with your idea
Today was a terrible eating day (the usual mess I get myself into during a several hours-long drive...), but there is nothing bad to eat in the house starting in the morning, and I will work hard to keep it that way. Tomorrow self is going to be mad at today self, but we'll make it up by Wednesday, I hope.
Tomorrow is going to be a "one perfect day". Good food, good exercise, good outdoors, good headspace, making some music, talking with people I love. All the good things. Hope you all have one too!

Weigh in Day: MONDAY
PW: 169.4
CW: 169.4
Sorry late posting, first day of spring break was a busy one.3 -
Happy Tuesday all! Sorry I didn't get a chance to weigh in yesterday. I honestly debated about skipping this week because TOM started an entire week early and I'm feeling pretty blah ....but here it is anyways.
PW: 147
CW: 146 (maybe my run helped?)
Activity for last week:
Monday: 9245 steps (incl. 1.38 mi easy run) + 32:45mins lifting
Tuesday: 7325 steps
Wednesday: 7823 steps (I was stuck at a health far booth)
Thursday: 11423 steps (incl. 1.6 mi hill run) + 35:42mins lifting
Friday: 16635 steps (incl. 5mi long run)
Saturday: 3332 steps + 1hr yoga
Sunday: 3066 steps
And I FINALLY bit the bullet last night and ordered new running shoes. Mine are at least 7-8 years old and have probably close to 3000miles on them. I can't wait to feel the difference they make!
5 -
@MoonlitMuse new shoes will make you feel like you're floating! Especially after 3000 miles in the old ones. I love that new shoe feeling.
