Thank you for the warm welcome, Megan. This is my first time in this group, I signed up for the challenge beginning in May, which I guess begins this Sunday.
My name is Tammy and I live in Wisconsin. I'm 58 (how did THAT happen?) and I'm a marketer with a local university. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you while we support one another on this journey. I'm not new to MFP, I'm more of a serial starter-and-quitter. I'm determined to lose weight, gain strength, muscle tone, and flexibility and be healthier overall before I reach my 60th birthday in a little over a year and a half. I know slow and steady wins the race in the long run, so I'm willing to give myself the time it takes to be successful and maintain my new, healthier habits.
I was a longtime WW member (also lots of starts, stops, restarts, stops, etc), but gave it up a couple of years ago when they made more changes to their program and I wasn't seeing the success I hoped for. Over the past 30 years, I've given them enough money that I should already own the company, LOL. I'm currently following a WW-like food plan but using MFP to track. I'm working on getting better at meal planning and prep on the weekends for the coming week. I still work full-time, so heat-and-eat at mealtime works best for me.
Consistent activity is a challenge for me. I am currently working with a trainer once a week for weight lifting, but I have a hard time getting up off my rear to do other activity throughout the week. My goal is to exercise at least 2-3 additional days per week (yoga, another day at the gym, or walking outside once it reaches 50 degrees or more). I have a Fitbit that connects to my MFP account to track my steps. I'm already signed up for my first 5K of the year this coming Saturday, so I'm hoping that will make for a happy weigh-in on Monday morning.
Let's do this!
Welcome Tammy! 🎉2 -

My dog is having surgery tomorrow (getting her teeth cleaned and a couple removed. Nothing too serious) so I'm weighing today since I might not be on tomorrow

Still losing even though I'm eating more. Gotta eat more still I guess. My cardio is making it hard to just maintain my weight.4 -

I almost forgot: I had my weekly injections yesterday. The pain specialist is thrilled with my weight loss. He thinks it will make a big difference with my leg/back pain. Tomorrow I have my rheumatologist appointment and I am excited to see what she says. I have 20 pounds gone since my last appointment.

Was going to fast 72 hours but I couldn't make it...listened to my body (and my gurgling stomach) and broke it after 48 hours. I'm thrilled with my results but I need to start getting toned!!
I'm going into my nurture phase so eating 3 times a day again and no fasting
Events coming up....my daughter graduates from law school and my son graduates high school!! Exciting times for both I'm sure food will be involved... hopefully I will not gain!!
Welcome to the new members 😁5 -
Hi my fellow fitness teammate friends, Thank you all for the warm welcomes
I am pumped to start weighing in every week and to talk to all of you! Looking forward to everything about this group.
So my daughter is pretty athletic, she was in Cross Country last fall in the top 10, is top 10 in track so far. She was nominated for Athlete of the Year by Empire State Winter Games in New York for 2023. Could you all go over to her video and like, comment and shareI would appreciate that so much. Her name is Kamille. If the link doesn't work, can you go to ESWG on Facebook and find her video, right now she is the most recent video. Here is the link if you would try!!

Happy Wednesday,
Sorry, that I let the team down this month, but I commit to making May a whole new beginning.
I'm feeling much better after being sick for nearly two weeks. Didn't have much energy or motivation for really anything. However, I'm feeling so much better, have more energy and feeling good and motivated to get things done.
My plan for the month of May:
Log on mfp and diary daily
Participate in the challenge daily.
80 + fl oz of water daily
Work on bad eating habits
Work on my overall health (mental and physical)
And try to stay Positive instead of negative which I have the habit of doing.
May is going to be a whole new beginning, a fresh start. I'm going to be putting my weight-loss goals first and foremost, in other words myself/health.
Looking forward to May's challenge with renewed energy and motivation, along with being more positive about accomplishing what I set out to do.
