Not much, but I'll take it! I definitely thought that I would've gained this week....I'm on a several week streak and I'm just waiting for the inevitable rebound. It'll probably happen soon as I intend on picking back up on my lifting...and because I'm probably not going to be as vigilant about what I eat while I'm in Billings (because....options that I don't otherwise have....)
Also - I may have to take a pass next week. Next week is going to be....interesting. I have to travel to Billings on Monday (about a 6 hr drive) for a Nutrition and Diabetes conference from Tues-Thurs. I'm presenting there first thing Weds morning (and I'm desperately trying to finish said presentation lol). That day is also my son's 16th bday. Then I'm going to drive home Thursday afternoon, get ready, then leave Friday morning to go to Choteau (a little over an hour away) for the Front Range Yoga Fest from Fri-Sun. I'm teaching Sat & Sun, but on Saturday, I have a 50th wedding celebration to attend in St. Mary/Babb area.....the logistics of it all is making my head spin
As to next week - I have you down as a Monday weigh-in - is that right? Let me know if it is. No matter what, you can certainly weigh in on Monday next week before you leave if you want to. The rest of your week sounds like a wild ride! So many things to pack into a week2 -
Loving the five weeks in the green folks!
Considering your girl has been closer to trending five weeks in the red, I'm feeling inspired.
Ok, so last week was a moderate green.. I'll take it. You know what else I'll take? 10K steps AND a 30 minute Peloton ride tonight. WOOT WOOT!
Oh, and calories tracked and under.
The highs are high my friends!!3 -
Hope it’s not too late for my steps.
Congratulations to our 5 weeks in the green people.
@jugar So glad to hear your horse is home.
I took today off as my last PTO day of the school year to get some unpacking done. And don’t you know it? I jinked myself and got sick. Not sure what. Feel crappy. I have EVERY symptom of Covid including loss of taste. BUT, I have tested the last two days and it’s negative. I don’t know. This would be the third time I have had it in a year if I do. Which I
don’t. 🤷🏻♀️ This lack of taste stinks!! Why eat? Right?! My husband got me some ice cream and a brownie. Tasted nothing. Why eat the calories if I cannot taste its goodness. So I wrapped it up and put it in the freezer. That saved me some calories. Fitbit doesn’t lie. I checked my resting heart rate and two days before I started feeling bad, the RHR skyrocketed. It’s still up so whatever it is is not done with me yet. I find the Fitbit data so interesting. Not just the steps.
I need to check in more. I need to log my food. I need to drink more water. I need to exercise. I know what I need to do. I just need to decide to do it.
Thanks for being here.6 -
Monday - Tuesday steps and such:
9323 + 30 minutes Pilates
13450 + 20 strength + 30 bike
Many of those steps today were taking a walk with my horse. I just led him along one of the trails we'll be riding very soon - he really enjoyed being together and exploring a whole new kind of environment. He had a few reminders about when it was walking time and when it was OK to chomp on the vegetation, but other than that, it was a good vigorous walk. When we got back, I put him in the big outside ring and let him gallop all over - I think he was feeling really good from the walk (and the munches!). He can sure move out! Riding in a couple of days. I think he'll do fine. I hope I do too!

Hello!
Congrats to the 5 weeks in the green people! That is so amazing 👏 😍 🙌
My week is going well and I'm getting back into food logging mode. So far so good. Also getting on the scale more. Weight and calories are pretty solid so I think I have my maintenance range dialed in.
@jugar Of course you guys can be my "guinea pigs"
This is one of my new pigs. His name is Barrett because he looks like a little black bear.
This is my long haired piggie Duncan. He is still under the age of one and he is still pretty skittish. Oh well, he gets snuggles anyways 😁🥰

My husband and I have inherented the large garden as my mother in law is now using raised garden beds in her yard. It's coming along and is a big area. We have a lot of the standard veggies but we are also trying purple carrots, purple tomatoes, okra and giant pumpkins. My husband set up drip irrigation for the entire garden and orchard. We're experimenting with hay in-between the rows for weed control. We have regular strawberries but we are also working on transplanting the local wild strawberries into our garden. They make the cutest mini strawberries about the size of a blue berry. They look good so
far.

I've had more dinners or lunches out recently which are wonderful to connect with friends and leave the house (I work remotely). I am trying to take the approach of making a better choice than I would have back in the winter - not striving for perfection or even the best choice, just better. Yesterday I left the entire scoop of rice that came with my Asian stir fry.
I took a work break and went for a 15 min walk then took another in the evening despite the threat of rain. Again - better choices for my health - not perfection.
Still seeing & feeling bloat - some from salt (restaurants!) And some from hormones. Come on Aunt Flo! At 46, the wait for her arrival is annoying!
I shall keep on making better choices and ride it out.
1.5 weeks until the beach, 6 until a work event at a resort with a pool near the beach followed by a trip to see family. These sort of countdowns motivate me!4 -

Ugh. Summer is hard. Yesterday I felt really blah all day. I didn't do much. Today, I walked the dog (2 out 5 walks) and I want to do a lower body workout. I really need a new mattress- I have been waking up with a lot of neck and back pain...and today it hasn't gone away yet! I ate a lot of carbs yesterday and this morning 😭 I made a great plan but I am not sticking to it. I adjusted my meal plan for the rest of today to try to balance the carbs.5 -

I think that your good choices are bound to see you through for the win - I believe in you!3 -
@jugar Since I'll be leaving from my house instead of the office, I don't think I'll be able to weigh in before I leave. If my hotel has a scale available, I'll try to jump on, but otherwise, I'll have to wait until the following week, but I'll see what I can do

@micki48 isn't it crazy what no taste and smell can do to your appetite? I lost those senses several years ago to a side effect of a medication and I lost some weight!
@jugar your horse is beautiful!
@conleywoods that garden is awesome! And to have the drip irrigation. I have some zucchini planted and can't wait to see how many I get!

no problem! an excused week is no big deal0 -

So we've gotten a lot of rain recently and now two of my zucchini plants have 1 leaf each that looks like this. Does anyone know what it is or if I need to do anything?

I'm here for all the green thumb pics.. but I can't relate!! I would love to eat your fresh veg though
This afternoon a team of us from work went to volunteer doing clothing donation sorting at our drop in centre.... I have almost 16K steps. I think I've said this before but sedentary desk job me, had she thought differently about things when she was choosing a career, would have loved to choose something on my feet. What a difference it makes!!
Post-volunteering we had beer and appies. Not the best choice the night before weigh in!3 -

@lauren_989 that looks like one of two things! Either your zuke plant is a naturally variegated leaf type, or it might have some powdery mildew. Here is a good article, but there are many on this problem and I'm sure you can find a solution. I usually just remove the leaves that get any mildew spots on them, if that is what it is.

Pleased with a little loss this week - it has been a while! I've not been drinking as much water as I ought to, but I've also not been snacking on all-the-things. Had a mini-binge yesterday afternoon, where I think I was craving electrolytes, as we also had McDonalds for tea which hit my need for salt, yet I still had restless legs when we went to bed.
I am jealous of your garden space @conleywoods; I love my allotment, but I would love even more to have it at home and especially with irrigation. We've not had rain for a few weeks, and have been having to bring water from home to top up my water butts at the allotment.
@lauren_989 I had powdery mildew on my squash plants last year and this looks like something else - I suspect insect damage. Try spraying with a mild solution of washing up liquid/water; will help with both mildew and bugs, or you could use garlic water too.3 -

Hey guys, I've enjoyed reading all the gardening posts and seeing all the photos, that is one handsome horse @jugar ! I'm normally a keen gardener (I agree, that looks like insect damage on the courgette leaf, pull it off and spray plant with dish soap solution or non-toxic pesticide) but this year I've decided not to plant any veg, after the last 2 years being difficult with a late spring followed by heat waves and drought and as I'm going away at the end of the month I won't be able to keep things watered. I've tried a drip irrigation system but it didn't really work for me. So I'm having a break from it and putting my efforts into the flower beds and borders instead.
I'm surprised I managed to lose this week as I was away camping for 4 days and indulged a lot, so I guess I got lucky.

@MoonlitMuse - great job this month.
@ashleycarole86 - what a day. Such a rewarding day helping out and so nice to see your employer is supporting helping out the community.
@39flavours - nice loss this week
I'm turning my week around, did a workout today and not letting the stress of school and life get me in a funk. I'm excited for this weekend bc I'm off for a girls trip with my daughter to do some fun things around Calgary. Hope the weather is good while we are there.4 -

I’m thinking about trying a meal service for two or three days a week. Does anyone have any recommendations, has had a good experience or know of one to stay clear of?

My net calories were up this week to 1,788, so interesting to see such a big drop. It could be because of my increase in exercise as well.
Tonight, I have my cooking club event. I’ve made a Mexican street corn dip, and I did a few tweaks like reduce the amount of butter or swap for low-fat where possible. It’s pretty spicy though so I hope they like spice! I pre-logged everything that will be there because I was talking with my dietician about being worried about not taking something that someone made. She said to just be mindful of portion size and have fun. I really like working with her. 😊
Yesterday was a rest day for me, my body told me it needed more sleep and a break, so I honored that. My husband and our dog enjoyed a nice long walk in the afternoon. It was pretty warm out and today is supposed to be warmer. Summer may finally be here!
I went to my group strength circuit gym on Monday, worked out at home on Tuesday, and had a spin class on Wednesday. Today I’ll do another of Sydney’s workouts, and then Saturday as well. To round out the week, I have hot yoga on Sunday.
Next week I have to go into one of our other corporate sites that’s further from me so I think I’ll have to either get up earlier for a workout (not sure I really want to do that), or switch it up and workout after work (around 6pm), or just use those couple of days as rest days and then crush workouts the other days.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!4 -

Gonna see if the scale is friendlier tomorrow, my digestive system isn't processing fast enough these days. Not enough water and fibre. It's definitely not because I'm not sweating it out in this heat!3
