Saturday, 5862 in steps today. Feeling slightly better today but still kinda tired, due to my parathyroid. I know I've got several medical issues going on but I always forget that if my parathyroid is off just slightly in any direction, I get tired and my energy diminishes quicker. But it can affect my other health issues as well, as it showed up this week. Any endocrine issue can affect other health issues, directly or indirectly.5

Congrats on your weight loss!! Way to be committed and an inspiration to everyone!
Great job @Pupowl getting back into the food diary! One step at a time and pretty soon you’ll look back and see those steps have made some great results!
@nancyinmo thanks for sharing your story! You have had great success and I love how you found an exercise that your passionate about and that essentially keeps you accountable since you have people relying on
you. The social aspect to being an instructor is so great to, I’m sure people you teach help to motivate you as well!

@Zaxa2021 How are you feeling? You are doing a great job! Remember to give yourself lots of positive affirmations. Being a mom of toddlers is exhausting, rewarding and fun but still exhausting. You regularly chat with us, share your steps, share your weight loss and share your struggles. You are clearly committed! Just keep sharing and celebrating each day for the successes it holds, because they are there—sometimes we just have to look deeper.

Let me catch you all up—
I went to a giant water park last week and since it was chilly and overcast is wasn’t busy. That was awesome but also meant that I kept climbing up to those giant monstrosity slides over and over and over again since there were barely any waits. I didn’t have my phone on me so I didn’t track those steps but as my body is still feeling it, I can assure you that there were a lot. I did everything my kids did, match their energy, and I have had a incredibly sore neck and arms for a week now to prove it.
I allowed my soreness to derail my weekly step goal. I know from the past when I am sore, movement helps, but when I did go out, I felt so drained and exhausted I stopped early.
Next— my husband and I threw a giant campout sleepover for my daughters birthday and we had 15 kids over. I made cupcakes and muffins and we had pizza and s’mores and for the two days I binged on whatever I saw as I was running by and did a lot of mindless eating. The kids had a fantastic time, but my body is feeling it after only sleeping at max three hours on an air mattress outside and eating like crap. (@Bearchested I can totally commiserate with you! Darn birthday parties! 🥴🤣)
So… @Pupowl you're my inspiration this
week. Reading your posts about food diaries and recording resonated me. I need to jump right back into it today! We will all have things that derail us, but the important thing is that we get back on that train.
I am accepting that my weigh-in tomorrow will be a gain, but it’s temporary and I have the tools and the determination to turn it around.6 -
@Cyncia85 I switched to a sedentary job three years ago and two of those years I was completing my masters, so I know all about not having time to move around. This year though, since May I have put my activity as a priority. I wake up earlier and I go for a walk before work and try to get at least 4 to 5000 steps before I work. Then I eat (pre-packed) lunch at my desk, but I use my break to go get at least a 30 minute walk. I wear dress clothes so I keep gym shoes in my office now. And in the evenings, or right after work, whichever one works, I walk again.
It takes planning and commitment, but now it’s become my routine and it feels good mentally too. I shared an article a couple weeks ago that said a 15 minute nature walk reduces brain fatigue and I have definitely noticed that benefit when I’m working at my desk and feeling drained.
Hope that helps!

Gm yall. The heat and humidity is back here in my little corner of the world. I leave Thursday for Cape to celebrate my birthday weekend with my love, Anthony. My 54th birthday is Saturday. I'm not really sure what he's got planned. Ik we were talking IHOP to celebrate but I've got no clue. He's been evasive. Ik we plan on doing a lot of steps over the weekend. We did a lot a few weeks ago. We put an application in for a rental there but haven't heard anything back yet.4

Just wanted to share a photo of the new stray cats that have been coming up to eat. They look in good shape, do you think someone lost them? I don't see a collar but they're not overly friendly...
J/K - this is the mother raccoon and her babies stealing cat food. First time I've seen her with babies this year. She'll vanish in the fall for the year until next summer. She raises her babies in the woodpile next door.
This is the other two babies we have this year. They're standing under the apple tree. Or the big snack tree as I'm sure they see it
We have wildfire weather today in Oregon which is scary, the sun turns blood red and casts an apocalyptic light. It's tip top fishing season also so the whole coast is packed. I'm staying home!
Big shout out to the mods who do so much work to keep things chugging in the group. THANK YOU!

Thank you all for the support after my last post, it really is appreciated. I'm feeling a bit better physically. I'm not too sure what brought on that bought of fatigue and depression, but I'm really grateful it didn't last too long this time. I'm planning to get back to the gym this week and get back to working towards my goals5 -

Have to drop out. Devastating coinciding occurrences have overwhelmed me and upended my life. Cat (18 years) passed away and I am being displaced from my home of almost 40 years. I just turned 65 and there's...I don't know. I just know I have to concentrate all my energy on surviving and finding another place to live that I can afford. Best to all and I hope to have the chance to rejoin someday!💗 Carole10

So sorry to hear that. I was hoping nothing was wrong since I noticed your absence. What a terrible spot to be in. I really hope you can figure something out quickly about your housing situation. We will still be here when you are ready and able to join us again. Take care!4 -

@sbus12 thank you and congrats to you on completing your masters! The biggest challenge for me is waking up earlier. I would love to get up early enough for a workout.
I work from home 3 days a week. The days I am in the office, I try to go for a walk like you suggested. Other times I run an errand during lunch or read.3 -
@jessicakral lol I like that - ONDERLAND!!!
@Sbus12 While your body is feeling it, it sounds like you had a blast last week. Those memories for you and your kids are priceless
@Armygirlarmyof1 Happy Birthday!!!
@Walela617 Big hugs to you during this challenging time.5 -

I'm pretty surprised by this 0.6 lb loss considering the past week has included some stress eating, not alot of water, and lots of rest for my injured foot (ie not very active).6
