    Swim: 2/3
    Mini Walk: 1/2

Trying to decide if I want to swim or do mini walks. I am tired today because much of last night I spent fighting the demon of the urge to nighttime eat. It was a tough battle but I won. 🙌.

    Have a great Wednesday!

Wow i m so happy i only have late afternoon/ early evening eating demons!

    Question

What is your go to evening snack?

Half a cucumber, peeled and cut into long sticks with salt and low calorie dressing. Recently I've also got into pickled onions!

Alright yall.. Signed up for a "virtual" 5k.

Some background for the new homies-

I started with this group in April... I was 630 lbs and could barely get from one room to the next. Eventually got a fitbit and was clocking 1k steps a day. I was hyped. Fast forward to right now where I am trying to crack into the 400s tomorrow, and hitting 2k steps most days.

2k steps comes in probably around .9 miles or so for me. The virtual challenges are set up in a way where you can do them over X amount of days which is what I have been doing with the big virtual challenges (I just recently completed "walking" the english channel), but on Friday I plan on doing the entire 5k, or just over 3.1 miles. It seems absurd even typing it.

Today I have a timer set to go off every 10 minutes and when it does, I get up and take a lap around the house. Curious to see how many steps I end up with today. Tomorrow, I will do the same. Regardless of how today and tomorrow go, Friday I will push for 3.1 miles even if it kills me.

Timers going off... talk to yall later.

    Much love.

Great commitment! Can i ask where you find these virtual challenges?
I'm a strong believer in walking to lose weight. I m travelling in my rv for 3 months and love going to new places, i go walking everyday and explore and then when I'm out of new places to walk i move somewhere else!

    Question

I like a nice peanut butter protein shake (mixed with plenty of ice so it has that milkshake feel), zero sugar yogurt, or a bag of hilo chips. I tried for months to avoid snacking but realized it just turned into me eating more at the next meal, so no point fighting it. As long as snack is 150 cals or less and reasonable nutrition wise, I'm for it.

My snack at 7;30 each evening tends to be higher in calories. I am on a hummus and carrots kick. I usually add a piece of fruit. I also have a 60 calorie pack of pockys most evenings. They seem like I am indulging but not breaking the calorie bank. I don’t eat in the mornings so I do have more calories in the evenings. I never was a breakfast eater so intermittent fasting is natural for me. Heck, I was doing intermittent fasting before it was even a thing. 😂. I would love to do intermittent fasting regularly but when I have the periods that I nighttime eat it is not possible.

That is fantastic about your walking. The lap thing is something I do. To reach my 4000 step goal I have broke it down into mini goals that I have to reach by 10, 12, 2 and then 3.

@Megan_smartiepants1970 I hate that you have so much pain. That is so hard. My heart goes out to you.

@Learningmoments thank you so much ... I see my Dr in 2 weeks so hopefullly he has some answers to why I am in so much pain

Have you considered to see a pain specialist for pain management? It has helped me keep my pain to a 6 on most days. It has also taught me to deal better with the 8’s or higher. Living with pain is never easy but with all the pain management help I get I am coping better.

Once the binge eating started years ago it was also mostly at night. I do take a medication that has a sedative effect which doesn’t help. I am slowly coming off that which has its own set of issues. I think binge eating disorder is not something you are ever cured from but learning to recognize triggers that cause me to binge and mange them is a huge step. It has taken lots of therapy to learn this.

I ended up swimming yesterday so today is a walking day. I have 2 done so far. I am not able to stretch them out like I did earlier in the week but they add up. Tomorrow we are taking my granddaughter to the fair so I am hoping to swim in the morning. I need to burn some extra calories to allow one food fair treat. We will be doing a lot of walking but I will use the walker so my steps won’t register. I still will burn calories that I wouldn’t if we stayed home.

    Have a terrific Thursday!

There are a ton of sites out there for it.. I mostly use the conquerer challenges app, but have also looked into virtual pace series and a couple of others. I love your style.. Walking around the house is definitely getting old lol.

    Question:
Tonight is the monthly potluck for our building. I am trying to decide if I will go. It’s the logging of the food that is worrying me. How do you log your meal if you go to a potluck?

I avoid human interaction at all costs. Certainly helps me keep the arrow pointing down lol.

I imagine I would just make a couple dishes to bring and only eat my own food unless there was something there I knew I could easily journal.

Keep your eye on your goals, I say for awhile!!!!! I agree, stay away from human interaction hahaha!

Rats! What a difference 24 hours can make - I was a full 2 lbs lighter yesterday morning! Oh well - just keep focused on the trend (despite how slow as it might be).
