I would like to sign up for Octobers Step Challenge please. I enjoy walking in the evenings, but with the weather turning cold soon, I 'll prob have to start a program on the treadmill inside. I 'll keep my goal of 10,000 steps per day, thank you.4 -

@Pupowl Please EXC me from this week’s weigh-in. I am swelled up something fierce…no reason it should mess up the team. Thanks, Jess3

Good morning Shape Shifters. Another morning walk. This time I started a little further away, so I got 10 extra minutes, woohoo. It was very warm, but the walk was fine. There was a very pretty cow near my home, but she was too afraid to come closer, so no petting. I planned out the walks I want to do with my mom when she visits. There are some areas she hasn't seen yet and I am looking forward to show her. One of the walks passes a teahouse in the forest so that will be a nice place to have a break. The rest of the day wasn't very interesting. I finished my book in bed and it was awesome, though it did make me cry at one point. Happy Friday everyone

Today's increase is a bit of water weight plus I've been struggling with snacking. I'm trying to get back in the the habit of daily food logging as it helps me be more aware of all the extra calories that come from snacking.

I don't believe 232.1 was correct. What I posted yesterday for last week would have been correct. Guess I really messed up when I rushed!

favorite place(s): given the lack of one outstanding trail near my home, variety is the key:- park #1 half a mile from my house, with ⅓ mile loop (½ mile with side) with benches periodically for brief rests
- park #2 mile and a half from my house, with ½ mile loop, a few benches, and a 0.6 mile loop across the street around a sunken soccer field
- rail-to-trail trail ½ mile from my gym, 3 miles long with a pedestrian overpass and workout stations along the way (I often use this trail before or after a gym class/workout)
- 4 ½ mile trail (starts ~2 miles away) alongside a creek with both a paved path and a single-track bike path
- quarter mile track at a junior college (~5 miles away), nice track with bleachers for climbing

I've been lacking direction fitness-wise since I finished the week-long cycling tour at the end of July. That along with a really hectic work schedule has pushed training to the back burner, and I'm lucky if I get a couple of lifts in a week. Really that's just me not prioritizing training, and not prioritizing sleep so I don't feel recuperated.
My coach and I talked about trying my first online powerlifting / strength lifting competition in the spring, which has given me a new sense of training purpose. I want to get down to under 175. I also made the goal during this time when work is crazy to at least exercise 10 minutes per day. I'm feeling more determined and should be more disciplined.5
