It’s not a problem changing your name. I just have to make sure I change it on the spreadsheet. How was your weekend getaway? [/quote]
Thank you Linda - was wondering how it works. Will do it next week. We had a wonderful time away. I got on the scale this morning and it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. Back at it today.
Here we are on the balcony of our room, sunset and harbor in the background.

How is it already December...what the heck?! Happy December everyone!!
I'm Chickie and I am 44yo and live in NY. I'm in an acapella chorus that I LOVE (I love music and I love to sing). I also love to read (historical fiction, thrillers, horror) and I love to travel.
I have been on a weight loss journey for the last 20 years with varying degrees of success but I've never been able to keep the weight off and always end up gaining it back plus a little extra to keep things exciting.
Really happy to have found this community!

Congrats on the loss! When I read your introduction, I was trying to figure out how long I have been dieting. It’s been 36 years. I never had a weight problem until I was 26. I didn’t have a weight problem until I had my second child. This is the first time I have stayed with a program. I think counting calories and checking in here daily is what works for me.@ddainiak

I got up at 4:10 am. This is starting to make me mad. I actually went to the pool yesterday. While I did not have a lot of energy, I did manage to get 31 minutes of exercise in the pool. I did swimming and cardio pool exercises. I also did my mini walks.
Have a great Tuesday!

Question
Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start?
In January my husband went back to work on a temporary assignment. It was the first time in my life that I was alone. I thought what a great opportunity to focus on me for a change. I vowed to get healthy, give up some bad habit, exercise more etc. I had this thought about walking the entirety of the Airline Trail in Connecticut (which runs literally in my back yard). I started the journey on January 12, completing a little at a time and finished the 62 mile (in and out) trail on February 22 and lost almost 15 pounds. I blogged my progress on Facebook - which kept me accountable (god forbid I failed and the world knew). When I completed that, I started my 2,023 miles in 2023 goal and also found MFP. These two challenges which have kept me accountable and made losing weight fun (it's still hard though). Greg and I were just talking and I thought it would be nostalgic to do the trail again - this time with him!
