    Question

Tell us about your fitness routine. (Type, how often, etc.). Is there any type of exercise that you haven’t tried but would like to do?

Before I retired I sat at a desk all day and was lucky to get in 2000 steps. When I retired, I started walking, just a little every day. Then added a little more as I got used to it. In January of this year I was at about 2 miles a day and started my (current and final) weight loss journey. I am now up to 5.5 miles in the AM (most days), and then another 1-2 in the afternoon. My goal is average about 17K steps a day. I usually have one day a week that I can't do my AM walk outside (it gets really boring for me on the treadmill and I can't do 5.5 miles straight), or I am busy in the AM. I strive for more than 17K most days to make up for the occasional day of less. I also try to add strength training 3 times per week, and one stretch type exercise a week (don't care for them). I am in a couple other challenges - so if they have a particular exercise I have to do to get "points" (like dance, or bike) I either add them or replace my afternoon walk.

@aneedlecraft and @MyChoiceisaGoodLife What lovely losses! Way to go!
@jimboden3 Yay for you, too! I'm with @NachDeezy on this - you are very close! 240 for 2024!!
@FindingSamMon I think it is great that you are strategizing the big picture. I also am unquestionably my own worst obstacle.
@ddainiak Seems I am hot your heels! Except I will never catch you with all those incredible steps you do!!! 😁 No matter at all - you are amazing and it is a joyful thing to be moving through the 160's with you!

@roblinb Oh you may very well catch me - you are just a small step behind - I've been in the 60s for a while now - one "step" forward - one "step" back. I'm hoping to at least stay even in December! 💖

My schedule has been all over the place for about a month or more. I think it will be slowing a bit. I hope so. I am thinking about doing more strength training. I usually get more cardio, but during the winter, I struggle to do any exercises. Any tips on feeling warm enough to exercise? Thanks for your support!

My fitness routine has been almost non existent. The truth is I haven’t been feeling the greatest for awhile. Between my stomach issues, the nausea and dealing with chronic pain it has been hard. I have referrals to both an internal medicine and a back surgeon but this is Canada and the wait is outrageous. So for now I am doing my mini walks for at least 15 minutes a day. If I can get the motivation to go to the pool I swim, use my water weights and do some aerobic exercises. The exercise I would like to try is related to swimming. I would like to learn the butterfly. I can do all other strokes but some I definitely do better than others.

Nice loss! What’s the biggest difference you see in yourself since you started losing the weight?

    Happy new week.

Are you able to get to a gym? It’s warm inside and most gyms with teach you how to use their weight machines. I know there are gyms here called fit4less and the monthly membership fee is reasonable and you can cancel at anytime. Maybe they have something like that where you live.
I had some Hello Fresh meals I had to get out of the way. Now, back to fat loss.

You held your own. Do you get hello fresh meals every week?

    Motivation is overrated.
