Hi, Team! It's been another really good week for me. I'm always happiest when I'm busy. I was able to spend some time with my parents and help them with some things around their house and I went Christmas caroling again this weekend.

    Question:

It’s Saturday so let’s have a non weight loss question today. What is your favourite holiday tradition? It can be any holiday you celebrate.

My favorite holiday tradition is the mother/daughter brunch I have with my best friends and our moms. Our moms are all getting older but we have the best time when we're all together and have a chance to catch up.

Just a quick hello. The weather has been cold, humid, and overcast. I don't like weather like that, but hubby makes a wonderful fire to watch and warm up too. Everyone is doing a great job! Keep up the good work.
@lindamtuck2018 Thanks so much! I will do that. I actually love to workout. I don't always push myself and keep it easy. I am pushing myself a bit more and am finding I love it again. I used to love lifting weights. Hubby didn't want me lifting because he was afraid it would bulk me up. When I lost a lot of my weight previously he still wasn't happy with my appearance so I gave up my weight loss journey. Now I am like screw it! I am doing this for me and that means I will lift, row, run, whatever I want to do. I do binge and I am a compulsive overeater. But I am working on getting that under control

I am VERY proud of you! You inspire me.

We have to do this for ourselves. My husband wanted me to stop about 20 pounds ago. I figured I was stopping either when I was ready or the doctor recommended stopping. Working on controlling binge eating will be something I will be working on for the rest of my life. It’s been 4 years since I started therapy for my binge eating. While I finished therapy maybe 3 years ago, it is something I have to continue to work on. Learning how to manage my triggers for binge eating is the most important thing I do for my weight loss and now weight maintenance.

@ChickieBoom22- I love this question- My favorite holiday tradition is going to see the lights at a local history museum and going to church on Christmas Eve. I have started taking my husband, kids and grandkids to this place. They all love it too.

I love looking at the lights this time of year. Last year I went through this drive thru light display. It was beautiful.

    That fire sounds lovely.

Stayed the same, I'm ok with that this week.

Holding steady especially with all the distractions this time of year is perfectly fine. That’s my goal most Christmas’s, maintain. After my first bout with Covid, I never shook the headaches. The neurologist at the headache clinic said I was having migraines again even though I hadn’t had one since my early 30’s. He started giving me injections and now I get them weekly with my back injections. They help. I hope they can find something that gives you relief has bad headaches can really wear a person down. I have my fingers crossed for you. ❤️‍🩹

Hi Everyone ... I got out of the hospital this morning ... I have cellulitis which is an infection in my leg .. I am taking an antibiotic called Clindamycin it is the only med I can take since I am allergic to all cillins .... I had a cracked rod in my leg so I had to have another surgery.. I am in alot of pain but I am happy to be home in my own bed ..I hope everyone is doing good ... Will do the steps when I am not so out of it ...Good Night

I hope you heal quickly. I heard cellulitis can be quite painful. Watch your stomach with the clindamycin. I take it before every dentist appointment. I have to time my food perfectly so it doesn’t bother my stomach. A couple of times I didn’t and they couldn’t do the dental work as they couldn’t tip me back in the chair. Good luck with your recovery.

I finding posting my excuses helps. By seeing them written down, it allows me to analyze whether it’s valid and I can’t really change the situation or something I need to work on overcoming.

    Steps: 3,859
    Rings:❌
    Daily walk:❌

I am ok with not reaching my goals yesterday. Needed a day of being a lazy pants. What I am not ok with is all the chocolate I ate. Days like yesterday make me realize how disordered my eating still is. I was feeling depressed by the end of last week because of not being able to eat. Now that my stomach is happy, I am struggling with the urge to binge. I will have to be vigilant about this. I even fought with myself to log yesterday. I figured why not just take a week off from logging. Nope, the only two days I promised myself I did not have to log my food is Christmas Eve and day. Anyways, let’s say I met my calorie goal yesterday and then some. I am off for my injections shortly. I will get my walking done when I get home. My rings will be closed and I will meet my step goal.

    Have a great Tuesday!

    Question:

What are some tools you use to help you along with your journey? ie. kitchen scales, gyms, etc.

@adianeschu Hi! That was me! :) I am admiring how many steps you are managing even when you are not feeling as well as you could be. I am glad your appointment is soon and hopefully an effective treatment plan follows!

@lindamtuck2018 Way to take it on, Linda! Like you, I had a couple of days this week where I struggled very much to stay in control (And TOO much chocolate yesterday for me, too!!!). And like you are doing today, I dug in deep on the exercise front to get my focus back. Good job on kicking those old thoughts to the curb!!
