I’m making progress with my business development goals but I had to give up some exercise time this week. I’m taking a rowing trip next week so I’m hoping things balance out after the extra workouts in early April. I’ll continue to concentrate on eating healthy meals and tracking my calories in the coming week. I hope everyone is doing well, or at least feeling a little better each day. Let’s take some small and manageable steps together so we can build positive momentum— Go Shape Shifters!2 -

Here's my introduction:)
I am happy to be here and looking forward to joining this group in the April challenge. My name is Sloan. I'm 57 years old, married for 27 years and have two kids. My daughter is graduating from college in May, and my son graduated two years ago and now lives nine hours from home. I live an hour north of New Orleans in a little town named Abita Springs. I also have two big loveable dogs.
I joined a F2F challenge back in 2020 and continued it for about a year. I lost sixty pounds. Then life got in the way, and I let it all slip away too easily. I gained most of it back. For the last few months, I've been eating healthy again, logging food and doing well. I need to get back to exercising regularly.
I love nature and being outdoors. I like to go on walks. There is a lake nearby, so I'll walk at the lakefront. I wish we had good hiking trails and mountains. I really love a long hike.

The daily card:We live in a culture where busyness and noise are given more weight than slowness and silence. Take time out of your day to stop moving, think and reflect. Give yourself 5 minutes to allow your mind to wander. This is not waste time. Research has shown that people who allow themselves to daydream are often more focused and productive when they are at work than those who don't.3

Good morning all! 🙋♀️ I'm a newbie here so thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself.
My name is Sue, and I am 63 years old. I live in southern Maryland, am married, have two grown kids (1 in Seattle, 1 in VA), 2 grandbabies (VA) and 1 fur baby 🐶. I work full time, currently teleworking 3-4 days a week. I love to read, ride my bike, quilt, and make greeting cards. I am always up for a challenge and am usually involved in multiple reading, fitness and Fitbit challenges at any given time. 📚🚶♀️
I have been on MFP for over 10 years now. Wow...time sure does fly!! I hit my “official” goal of 140 lbs two years ago but have crept steadily up since then to almost 150, which is my “I must do something now” threshold. It took me years (almost 20) to crack the 150 barrier so I never want to pass it again.
The days are getting longer, and slowly – too slowly for my taste - getting warmer, so I am looking forward to being able to get back outside and bike / hike / kayak. I am travelling 2 of the 4 weekends each month and that is always a challenge for me. We recently bought our “retirement” home in VA near the grandkids so we are going down there frequently, taking carloads of stuff and doing small projects like painting and putting up shelves. I’m looking forward to spending more time there and actually enjoying the time rather than fixing up the house. All in good time I guess. The permanent move is about 18 months away yet.
Anyway, that’s me. I am happy to be here and look forward to a great month!

Hi everyone!
I am feeling better but won't weigh in because I didn't eat much over this past week due to beinh sick, the scale shows a 4 lbs weight loss. I think it will mess the stats as that 4 lbs of weight loss is due to eating only once or twice a day since Tuesday. I'll weigh in next week.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend.4 -
@DaffyGirl88 Welcome to the Shape Shifters! 10 pounds gained in 2 years isn't bad at all (I can do that in two days ) , but I get that you want to step on the brakes on time. Good luck working on your goals and the house!2

Hello Shape Shifters. I still don't have my food under control and the current count is 9 days of overeating. It is really bad. I keep trying every day, but it is so hard get out of this negative spiral. I am not entirely sure what is causing me to struggle so much. It is not like I am enjoying it. My nights have been awful; I am hot, I feel sick, my resting heart rate is through the roof, I sometimes have heartburn and sleeping with what feels like a brick in my stomach just doesn't work. My sleepscores have also dropped by like 10%. Everything is bad!
I know one thing that caused me some stress was a dentist appointment on Tuesday. It took a lot for me not to cancel it; I was so worried and scared even though there is no reason to be. The lead up to the check up is always the worst. There is one small thing they need to fix, but I am not concerned about that appointment.
Wednesday morning I saw my shoes were falling apart. The sole is coming loose. I noticed it on the left one first because it was worse there, but the right one had the same issue. These shoes are only a month old, so that's ridiculous. I emailed the webshop and sent over pictures. They said they could refund me or I could sent the shoes in for repair. Since I am otherwise happy with the shoes and I prefer green options, I decided to get them fixed up. I posted the package this morning and it can take 1-2 weeks before I have them back. My heel is still giving me a lot of trouble. I have other walking shoes, but they have a thinner sole, so I need to avoid road walking for a while and even then it will likely still make the pain worse. Sitting at home all day is really bad for me though, so I will deal with the pain.
Anyway, first step to getting back on track is to stop the 'head in the sand' approach. I haven't tracked my food because it is bad anyway, I haven't stepped on the scale in over a week because I don't want to see the number, I haven't posted here because it was all negative. Checking my weight is going to be the worst, but it is probably the most important of the 3 so I will step on it again Sunday morning. Hopefully the number is going to shock some sense into me!
I didn't walk yesterday because of the weather and I had the laziest day in a long time. I didn't even make my stepgoal which never happens. Today was a little better for steps, but no walk again because I was grumpy. I did do my gym rings workout and I have been working on jigsaw puzzles which has been fun. I finished one last evening and started a new one today. I also got a few new ones delivered. Anyway, sorry for the wall of text. I will be posting daily again now. Happy Friday everyone6 -

@Pupowl thank you for sharing, if you want to chat let me know. My husband got me the craziest puzzle for my birthday and I meant to tell you about it. It is a "clear impossible puzzle" I posted a picture of a similar one in the spoiler. It took me so long to do, I didn't have a reference picture at all.

@CasandraW Thank you for the offer! That puzzle looks horrible to me, lol I like a challenge, but when it goes into frustrating territory, I am out. I don't get that people enjoy those single color puzzles either. The gradient ones can be okay, but in general I prefer a nice image over something abstract. I am very impressed you finished it!
@LaurieWrobo Thank you We don't have your steps for the 27th.
@PatriceFitnessPal Thanks, it is always the anticipation for me that is the worst part of it. I have a sticker with the appointment on my fridge so every day I can see when the date is, and the closer I get to it, the more anxious I get (it started months ago). I think I will just throw away the sticker instead! They always sent an email reminder a week in advance so maybe it will be better to forget about the date until that reminder. My heel pain has now been here for 10 months and lately seems to have slowly gotten worse. So I think it is time for a doctors visit soon. I have tried some things myself to sort it out, but nothing works long term. I hope your pain is gone!
@Itadakimasu7 Thank you too!
