@alleykat69 Sounds like you did in fact have more good days than bad. Two parties where you didn't eat as much as you did in the past is pretty impressive! 0.2 lbs is like one big poop (TMI? ) and it is gone again, so don't sweat it.
thank you. it is an improvement from before. I would have eaten mire than I should have.2 -

Happy Sunday & St. Patrick's Day!🍀
Started my day with a protein shake, followed by a 30 min. walk. It was bright and sunny with fresh morning air.
Author Tim Ferris in The 4hr Body, indicates that eating (30g of protein) within 30 min of waking, followed by light exercise is more effective than a fasted workout, so i am going to try this out for a week or two. I generally wake up hungry so, to me, this sounds more appealing and intuitive than intermittent fasting.
@Pupowl - i recently came across an index card in an old journal that has my measurements from 2010 😅 . Tracking measurements is a great idea given weight can be finicky. I don't think I've done that in ages, as my records indicate.

@angmarie28 If your Friday weigh-in days aren't working for you, let me know if you need to switch to another day, which might work better with your schedule. Nice loss this week!

@CasandraW Thank you!
@Yukie_OP Nice picture! I like going out to walk early before eating first. I don't feel hungry when I am out enjoying nature, but if I can't walk for some reason, it is a lot harder to wait with eating until after 10:00. It can never hurt to try something new to see if it works better, though I think you can also make yourself crazy with the latest advice and research. Everyone says something different, so I am just doing what feels best to me. I recently moved my dinner food to breakfast because I learned that savory foods for breakfast causes a lot less glucose spiking during the day. I noticed a significant difference with less hunger right away so that is nice.
It's cool that you have data from so long ago! I only started to seriously care about my weight in 2020 and since then I have tracked once a month most of the time. More data is always good. I was curious if the gym ring workouts did anything or if I was just imagining seeing my arms look better in the mirror, but I think losing 2 centimeters on a fairly small body part is pretty good!3 -

I hope everyone had a great week! I for one can say that I did, and that I am enjoying the spring weather! Did a strength workout video which was #22 out of 65 videos that I set a goal of completing before my wedding in June. I completed 22 videos in one month, which I am very proud of myself for. Keep up the great work everyone!4 -

Hi, all, getting ready for a 10-day trip to the Florida Keys, Key Colony Beach to be exact! Looking forward to visiting Key West and the other Keys, doing lots of walking, and eating fresh fish. All in all, it should be a really healthy vacation, except for the wine! I will try and weigh in, but not sure there will be a scale. I'll let you know if I don't have access to one.3

Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a lovely and quiet walk. I biked to the start of the forest so no road walking, just lots of nature, birdsong and a bunch of roedeer. I did laundry, started reading a new book and did my gym rings workout in the afternoon. Not very interesting, but it was a good day.walk, good sleep & food, gym rings workoutHappy Monday everyone

@Itadakimasu7 & @CasandraW thank you for the suggestions and advice for my back, I really appreciate any help or ideas. A sore back really is exhausting to deal with, and I don't like taking a whole bunch of pain meds if I can avoid it.
@Yukie_OP I have a protein drink every morning before I walk to work and this is how I have been doing so well on my weight loss, I believe. It's not too filling as to make you feel full or sluggish, but it gives you enough fuel to walk and start your day. I then have a "coffee" break snack at work, followed by lunch a few hours later. Sometimes I have an afternoon snack if I'm hungry or just wait and eat supper. I think more smaller meals in the day is better than 3 big meals. I feel better and seem to keep my energy up. Good Luck, I hope it works for you too!8 -

~ I was a bit out of sorts this week with hubby being gone and Tom compounded the situation. I lacked good sleep and worked overtime so I really didn’t have time to read the posts here (which usually lifts me up and motivates me)
Overall grade for the week: B for Blah😒
sorry for the gain team

Today we had pretty nice weather, started out cold and foggy. I live by a river and the boats were sounding their horns in the fog. Only two kitties showed up for Yoga!Because the grass was wet my yoga mat now has dirty paw prints on it. I have another nicer mat for indoors!
Today I went to Home Depot with my son and picked up some plants / spent too much on gardening stuff. I bought a couple of Jasmine plants, which I haven't ever grown before and three rhododendrons (sp?) which grow wild here in Oregon and don't get eaten by elk / deer, so maybe they'll survive. The critters here eat everything.
I think I've figured out my health. I was walking through the store and dislocated a couple of joints in my foot and was leaning on the cart until thankfully they popped back into place and it dawned on me, do I have a connective tissue disorder? Anyone else pop out your joints all the time? Is it normal to do that? I never thought to tell the doctor about it probably because it's always been like this for me. Hmm. Anyway, maybe I'll get my medical mystery solved eventually.
Happy Spring everyone! I tracked calories today, and although my food choices included a Snickers bar - I was under calories. Huzzah! lol

Monday ~ March 18
Good morning Shape Shifters. A very foggy morning, everything was wet. The smell from the pine trees was amazing. Probably my favourite scent! It was really quiet again and I didn't see a single person during my walk. I explored some more forest and followed the little ditch with water. It went on for a long time and there was a path to the left to go back and a path right which goes who knows where. Maybe something to check out next time.
Since I biked to my walk, I headed to the store right after to get some groceries. In the afternoon I biked to the little gardencenter we have because I needed new woodpellets for the litterbox. I also picked up some freesia plant bulbs to put in the front yard, new pruning shears and I had a birthday coupon for free garden gloves. I pruned some plants and tried to tidy up the backyard a bit, though it feels like a waste of time. The backyard looks so bad and it will stay that way this year. I don't have the energy to fix it and I have already spent so much money on plants. Everything keeps getting drowned in weeds and high grass. I just can't.
I got the last gear for my horse riding adventure delivered; chaps and a helmet. The colors of everything are a bit all over the place and don't match. Horse riding stuff is expensive enough already, so I looked for things that were on sale. It's fine though; I am looking to have fun and I don't have to look pretty doing it! I finished reading a book (it was good) and started the next one in the series. I cleaned Tinus' litterbox, did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. It was a productive day.walk, good sleep & food, gardening, cleaningHappy Tuesday everyone

The daily card:While tightness and constriction in your body can literally be a pain, those feelings can also be instructive. Physical tightness is often a symptom of something going on in our minds. Over the course of our lives, we tend to develop patterns of physical tension in response to stress and difficult emotions. If you can learn to recognize the patterns and correlations between your mind and body, you can intentionally relax those parts of the body before the tension builds.2
