Step Challenge Team...I'm thinking of changing how we announce our winners for each week/month. What would you think if we did top 3 for each week, rather than just at the end of the month? Just a thought...let me know if you have any suggestions! Thanks for making this little competition fun each month!

Yes, it's helpful if you make a separate posting for your step stats...or make it literally jump off the page/stand out in your daily postings...the easier to see, the better we'll pick it up. Sorry...but with trying to monitor everything, sometimes details can get missed. Thank you for posting your stats. You're killing it with your increased stepping!! Great job!! You beat me last week (issuing official demerit)...LOL! Very proud of you...keep it up! Bet you're feeling amazing!

The weather is supposed to be decent this week, so I'm going to walk to work again! I have missed my morning walks. I've been really struggling with my protein goals these last two weeks, so I'm planning on trying a few new things to add in more protein. Have a great Monday everyone!3 -

~ Not sure how true the scale is! My activity level was super-high(for me) and I received a few badges in Stridekick that I was proud of. But dinner last night was a Homechef meal that was pretty carb-y and lunch was full of sodium. Weβll see what happens after TMI. Even though the chicken Parmesan was sided with zucchini, the chicken was still breaded and fried.
I apologize for any repetitive posts and Iβm probably off in my dates somewhere. Iβm still trying to figure out the template Iβm going to use for this lovely new group Iβm in here - Sun 03/10: 172.8;+.2lbs
~ The birthday party was so sweet and my cousin was the star of the show of course. She gave such great attention to each present and smashed her birthday cupcake as we all predicted she would. <<see below for pictures>> I am always running around participating in the festivities, but I am noticing when thereβs quite a few people I donβt know (and no alcohol) I go into a super-extended ADD mode. Maybe upgrade me to AdHd class..It was a nice time though and luckily they grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and I ate like two of each without the bun.

Monday ~ March 11
Good morning Shape Shifters and thanks for the birthday wishes! I had another long walk with my mom. There was less wind, though we did get rained on a bit for the last 30 minutes which wasn't great. I left my camera home again, so no fun pictures either. When I walk alone, I usually don't walk over 2 hours, but it is nice to know it isn't a problem at all. We walked 2,5 hours and I was still feeling pretty good when we got home. I guess I build up my stamina more than I thought. I enjoyed my last muffin for my actual birthday and I got to open the presents from my mom. I am looking forward to reading the book she got me. She also got me a hat with cat ears as a joke, but she didn't notice it wasn't meant for humans, but for pets! So Tinus was supposed to wear it. Of course with his wide pancake head, something like that doesn't fit and I think clothes for cats is a bad idea in general, so I didn't bother him with it. Instead I put it on a stuffed animal. I enjoyed a bunch of music in the afternoon and got in my gym rings workout. In the evening we played a new bird cardgame that my mom also got me for my birthday. It is a cooperative game that you win once you collect birds from 4 different groups. If you run out of cards to play before that happens, you have lost. We very easily won the first 5 games and we thought we were doing something wrong. We lost game 6 and won 7 again. So you can lose, but overall the game seemed a bit too easy. We still had fun with it and Tinus also joined in and claimed some cards for himself.long walk, good sleep & food, gym rings workoutHappy Tuesday everyone

The back of my calves were a little sore last night after walking to work, but I'm so happy to be back to my old routine while this nice weather last!5 -
@jessicakrall8 and @Pupowl
Please excuse me for last Sunday, 3/10 and this Sunday, 3/17 weigh-ins. I took a bad fall, tripped on my morning walk and banged up my head and body pretty well... I'm just a klutz!
Now I'm coming down with a cold that everyone in our household has been passing around. I thought that I was going to be lucky, but it finally got to me too. So, I need another few days to get my focus back to the basics. Thank you.6 -
@looneycatblue Oof, that sounds rough! I hope you feel better soon.5

Good morning,
last week or so I wrote about hoping turning 41 was the start of a better year than 40, it does not appear to starting out that way. Somewhat crappy health update in the spoiler incase it's not a place you want to take yourselfYesterday I got the results of a recent ultrasound and they are not very good. I either have a pre-cancerous condition or cancer. Either one sucks and is going to require a bunch of treatment.
Thankfully it is considered a slow progressing condition. On the negative I need to see the specialist to have a biopsy and that appointment is currently booked 2 months from now. My family doctor is going to try to get them to see me sooner since we have some initial results now. I haven't told my family except my husband as I don't want to burden them with worry until I have all the details.
Thank you for reading9 -
So sorry @CasandraW - hopefully you can get in sooner and find out the strategy to kick cancer's a** to the curb- hugsππππ4

Happy Birthday @Pupowl πππππ it sounds like you had a wonderful birthday all around4
-
@CasandraW That is such horrible news! I really hope you can get an appointment sooner. Having to wait for two months knowing what is wrong and not being able to start working on a plan sounds terrifying. I don't know your family, but I would hope someone close to me would tell me if something was wrong and I would never consider that knowledge a burden. It might save them some worry, but you are also robbing yourself from their support! I know this is a personal choice, but just wanted to offer my perspective. I hope sharing it with us at least helped a little. If you ever want to talk, you can always message me! (That goes for anyone here). I pray you are able to start treatment soon.7

@pupowl Sounds like a great walk...two things...First, I think Tinus is telling you you're breaking the rules to your card game and therefore, you can no longer draw or discard...secondly, we're going to need to see a picture of you in this hat with the kitty ears...LOL it sounds adorable!!! Perhaps Tinus should wear it too!!

@casandraw Very sorry to hear your news...but I hope you're able to get a quicker appointment and start treatment soon...lean on every source of encouragement you can during this time and know that i'll be praying for you...we're here whenever you want to vent, for sure!!!

Tuesday ~ March 12
Good morning Shape Shifters. It was the last day with my mom here. We were both a little tired and the weather wasn't nice so we kept the walk fairly short. It was very foggy, but not much wind at least. After the walk, breakfast and a shower, we played a played a few more bird cardgames and won all of them again. My mom got picked up early in the afternoon. The rest of my day was pretty relaxing. I heard a bird fly into the window when Tinus was on my lap so I couldn't check on it. When I looked later, I saw a male finch dead on the ground. I suspect he died on impact. I am a little sad that it can still happen with all the bird stickers covering my windows, but birds often chase eachother in spring and there isn't anything I can do about that. I didn't want it laying in the garden, so I moved it to the bushes across the street. I went to bed early in the evening and made a start in my new book.walk, good sleep & foodHappy Wednesday everyone

The daily card:Habits are hard to break because they make us feel comfortable. But you don't have to change your life dramatically to make discoveries. Make one small change to your routine. Perhaps take a different route to work or shop somewhere new. Visit a recently opened cafe or try a new recipe for dinner. It is hard to change deeply ingrained habits but making one change to your daily life can bring surprising results. There are new possibilities out there for you, waiting to be found.2

@CasandraW thank you for sharing your difficult news. Reaching out and connecting to others will help give you support and strength during this hurdle in your life. Good luck and try to stay positive.1

~ Worked out with my planet fitness lady-group this morning β
~ My husband has been in Cancun for work since Sunday and thatβs got me feeling a little off-kilter. I do a little less treadmill walking and generally find myself with a little less steam. Itβs funny, since Iβve been on this fitness journey, heβs really only been a bystander, heβs not really been tracking or focused on health like I have. But him not here while I do it, is like walking without a step counter! lol Thereβs nobody here to mentally βshow offβ to! lol
