I think yesterday was the worst of it - sweated it out during the night and feel halfway decent today - just wore out and weak, hard to breathe at times - I had to run an errand this morning,
paid some bills and organized and cleaned Upper half of house + laundry disinfecting everything - hopefully, I'm on the mend4 -

@LaurieWrobo
Glad you're "on the other side of it", as my Grandma used to say...to be able to do all the cleaning you've done, you're definitely on the mend. Don't push too hard...being sick DOES wear you out. I'm glad for this good news...take care!

@jessicakrall8 thanks - getting some rest in between loads of laundry
You take care of yourself as well - we are here for you💕💕💕3 -
Don't forget for those that live in the U.S.!!!

@frankbrown -- Hey if it's not too much trouble, if you know the name of the volunteer program teaching conversational English abroad is something I've really been wanting to do, as well as short term volunteering in orphanages in Japan. I have a background as a teacher (grade 11+ US) but have been learning Japanese for a couple of years and plan to visit Okinawa in May, but hope to go back often. Good luck on the souffle cakes!!!
6 miles on my bike today -- hoping around storm clouds! Whoa! It was something, but I somehow managed not to get drenched. I met a couple of good dogs. I do wish though people would be careful, I ride fairly quickly (trying not to get stormed on) and a Husky would really destroy my beloved carbon bike (that I couldn't really afford / prized possession / my life!!) and leave it in splinters. A'well. Was a really lovely doggo and friendly and I love a good dog -- it's just I don't want to jackknife into said dog.
Swash totally flooded! I lucked out and just hit a patch of clear skies in between thunderstorms and dense downpours. My fastest ride yet!

Saturday overview:
Lemon water, study time and yard work in lieu of treadmill - my fit tracker recognizes it's hard work, so I'm good with not doing anything extra today. I'm exhausted!
Grateful for a clear, sunny day which allowed us to clear up the front yard- the grass and weeds were getting out of control. Also, my cherry Blossom tree is starting to bloom again.
Today's challenge: my daughter wants Farmer Boys for dinner- a burger chain with yummy chili cheese fries, fried zucchini, house-made ranch and burgers. I'll try to remind myself to try sensible portions.7 -
@jessicakrall8 - so sorry to hear you're struggling, please know that we are here for you. We all go through ups and downs and you deserve to give yourself grace. When you feel like all you can do is one thing (out of the many you might have for yourself) no matter how small -it is enough. You are enough and every day is an opportunity to try again.2

@jessicakrall8 I am sorry to hear you are having a hard time, but I am glad you are letting us know. This group isn't just for people who are doing well. I would say it is exactly the opposite! People who don't struggle wouldn't look for the extra support this group and its team members offer. We are all here for a reason, so if you need to vent, need support, need anything, then please share!
Reflecting on where you were is very important. You are still down 72 pounds from your highest weight which is a crazy amount! Your walking has majorly improved. Instead of feeling shame, maybe acknowledge that this is a little rough patch in the road and see it as a maintaining window instead of a weight loss one.
Making a list of all the things you want to do better could also be a good start. And then instead of trying to beat them all into submission at once, pick one of those things to work on, no matter how small you feel it is. And when you have that one thing under control, add a second one.
It is also well known that stress is horrible for a person. Maybe there ways you can reduce it. I assume most of this is tied to your work? Is it possible to take some time off? I get the impression you are busy a lot with little time for yourself. I think having you time is really important. Anyway, I am just throwing out some ideas. If there is anything specific I could help you with, let me know, anything at all!
My mom is here now so I will be checking in less than usual, but I needed to write this post. You are not letting us down and I appreciate you very much.5 -
Saturday ~ March 09
Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a somewhat free morning. I did one last batch of laundry and then got the groceries I needed for my moms visit. She was here around 11:30. After we had lunch (breakfast for me), we went for a nice and long walk. We saw a small group of roedeer, but besides that it was fairly boring outside. Because we walked in the afternoon, it was also much busier than I am used to. My mom had brought some food she prepared ahead of time that we just needed to toss in the oven, so that was nice and easy. I was pretty exhausted after the walk. After dinner I also still needed to do my gym rings workout. There was no good time to get it done earlier in the day. It was a busy day and we went to bed early. The cool thing is my rainbow tracker this week; it is all pretty and perfect with no black boxes, woohoo!long walk, good sleep & food, gym rings workoutHappy Sunday everyone

@jessicakrall8 think about this, if I had posted what you posted, what would you have said to me? Talk to yourself like you'd talk to a friend! And you're not letting anyone down, we've all been there. It's a part of life. My Daddy always sent this to me when I was going through a tough time. Hope it helps.
Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

Sunday: ~ The birthday party was so sweet and my cousin was the star of the show of course. She gave such great attention to each present and smashed her birthday cupcake as we all predicted she would. <<see below for pictures>> I am always running around participating in the festivities, but I am noticing when there’s quite a few people I don’t know (and no alcohol) I go into a super-extended ADD mode. Maybe upgrade me to AdHd class..It was a nice time though and luckily they grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and I ate like two of each without the bun.
Saturday: No movement on the scale from Friday to Saturday which is a good thing in my opinion. It was wing night at my house so although I didn’t have a ton of food what I did have was full of sodium and definitely I felt it in my gut ->🤰
~ I did have 2 light beers 🫤
Friday: This weekend I have plans for the first time in a little bit. My baby cousin is having her 1st birthday at a beach-park. I’m sure they’ll be food because it’s at 11am. Afterwards we’re going to the mall for a few items with some family. Both places will be filled with temptations so I need to have an eating plan in place. Day 5: No alcohol✅

Sunday ~ March 10
Good morning Shape Shifters. Went for a walk in the morning with my mom. I did the first bit on my bike. Her visits are already very exhausting for me so I don't want to go crazy with the walks as well. She walked around 11 kilometers and I did 8,5. The weather wasn't great so I left my camera home. It was pretty cold and super windy, though the sun did eventually show up. There wasn't much to see so I didn't regret not having my camera. After having lunch at home, I started feeling worse and worse. Since the evening was going to be busy, I decided the smartest thing would be to go to bed for a while. It was a little annoying, but it did fix most of my headache. My dad was here around 16:00. He gave me an envelope and said "your age in money!". So I thought: 'that's nice, 36 euros!' (I never ask for presents, I don't need anything). Then I opened the envelope and a big stack of 10's came out. My silly dad gave me 36 bills of 10 euros which was way too much, though very appreciated! My dad said he has more money than he needs and he thought this was funny.
A while later my brother, his girlfriend and their two kids arrived. While I was cleaning a few days ago I found some old books that I thought would be nice for my niece and nephew and they both seemed to like them. Tinus initially fled upstairs when they came in, but to my surprise he also came back downstairs again which I thought was very brave of him. I did make sure the kids knew it wasn't nice to go after him and they behaved very well. After a short while, we all left to the Itallian restaurant. We got a nice table with a bench along the wall. It was pretty quiet in the area we were seated at first, but that restaurant always fills up fast so it eventually got very noisy. The food was good though and I think we all had a good time.long walk, good sleep, pizza birthday dinnerHappy Monday everyone

The daily card:Doing nothing is a wonderful way to cultivate calm. And while it may sound paradoxical, doing nothing actually requires a fair bit of effort. Take 10 minutes today to step away from the usual hubbub of your life. Let yourself settle in to doing nothing, giving whatever energy and momentum is around you the space to run its course instead of engaging and giving it more fuel. By staying steady and letting everything run out of gas, you can start to notice what remains once the dust has settled. Rest with it.2

Glad you had a wonderful birthday @pupowl...you deserve the best! Sounds like your family spoiled you rotten...that's awesome! Love your dad's gesture...you are truly loved...and not just by your team obviously!

@izzyred9400 Can I please get your steps for Mar 8-9th? Thanks!
Step Challenge Team...I'm thinking of changing how we announce our winners for each week/month. What would you think if we did top 3 for each week, rather than just at the end of the month? Just a thought...let me know if you have any suggestions! Thanks for making this little competition fun each month!
